Great little place nested in a side alley. Everything was well kept and the owners were helpful and just lovely to chat with. Rooms were clean, bright, well equipped. They also provided a goodie bag for our dog, always a welcome touch. The gardens are well kept and large enough for pets to roam and have a good time. Food was great with an ample choice for breakfast. It's easy to find but if you are in doubt about what Google Maps is telling you just phone the owners and they will be able to help. Shared areas were also well equipped and well kept.

Chris and Mella are wonderful hosts. We spent a week in this accommodation and felt completely at home. Our dog was also welcome and made friends with Crumble, the house puppy. The breakfast was exceptional, suggestions from the guests were implemented spontaneously and we enjoyed having breakfast together with the other guests at a large table. Thank you Chris, thank you Mella, we really enjoyed our time with you and will be happy to come back.

We had booked the property because of its proximity to Shaftsbury and Compton Abbas as we were attending the airshow as part of our trip. As it happened we were dog sitting and were so pleased to find such a fabulous property for both people and dogs alike. Dog bowls and bed and treats!! A lovely warm welcome with tea and cake in the garden too. Breakfast was superb, all freshly prepared to order and we met lovely people to chat with as it was served at a communal table.

We liked everything!

The hosts were friendly and accommodating and we had a nice chat with them. The breakfast was fantastic using locally produced goods/ingredients.

The hosts entered our room after our first night's stay to make the bed, refill the water and empty the bins. Whilst our personal property was not touched, it would have been nice to know that the hosts would be entering the room during our stay as we'd have asked for the room to be kept private throughout our stay. As I say, it's not really a downside as it's actually very good service but in future I would suggest mentioning this to guests as part of the check-in procedure so they are aware (and can opt out if required).

A very peaceful and relaxing location in the heart of the countryside but central for visiting many places. Rooms are on the ground floor with their own veranda to access the grounds with multiple places to sit and and relax. Plenty of choice for breakfast and superbly cooked.

Sat Nav likes to take you down either or both “Great Down Lane” and “Love Lane” when approaching Marnhull via Todber these are both one car width single lanes with infrequent places to pass.

Lovely varied breakfast that, as a butcher, made a nice change from a "full English". Lovely cut fruit selection, choice of eggs, mushrooms etc and fantastic seeded bread/toast. Whole property and room decor was spot on and plenty of grassed areas for exercising our energetic Sproodle. Doggie bag (containing bed, bowls, tray, treats and food if required) was a lovely unexpected addition (although not required by us this time!)

There was nothing that could be improved upon. Chris and Mella were attentive and informative and great hosts as were Ben and Tizzy ( their two adorable spaniels)that got on well with our dog. One thing we were surprised at was the Booking.Com score of 9.8, The Clock House B& B is definitely worth a 10+

Excellet location and gardens, breakfast was really nice, Michael really loved Mellas Irish porridge and especially Chris's plum jam. The beds were fantastically comfy, best few nights sleep we've had in a while and the shower was great.

The only thing I might change would be the temperature in the shower, but only because i enjoy a really hot shower.

We are so pleased that we found this delightful B&B which was situated in a pretty village which boasts 2 pubs with Thomas Hardy connections. A very high standard of accommodation with a lovely garden. The hosts, Chris and Mella were helpful and informative about the area. We enjoyed the breakfasts too. They were leisurely and set us up for the day. We also felt that our dog was welcome and there are plenty of scenic walks nearby as well as a spacious paddock.

There was nothing to dislike.

The breakfasts were delicious. Lots of choice for the cooked breakfast and beautifully cooked; also Chris's jam was gorgeous. We were made to feel very welcome, and our Labrador enjoyed the fuss, and biscuits, as well. The accommodation is beautiful and a credit to the hard work of renovation that had been put into this lovely property. Also, the garden was beautiful. The room was very comfortable, as was the bed.

There was nothing to dislike; it is a beautiful property, in a lovely location.

This is 100% the best B&B we have ever stayed in It runs so well everything you need and more. Lovely fresh breakfast with home made jam. Nothing is too much trouble. They take dogs and when we got there in the room was a bag for our dog with everything you would need from treats bowls bedding dishes and a towel if needed. It is very disabled friendly the bathroom is of a good size with a lovely shower and a bath. We will be coming back again soon. Thank you for everything.
