The location, building itself, presentation & the owners. A wonderful couple. Both lovely & friendly from the first moment to checking out. We were 100% happy with our room. It was spotless, clean, fresh and we also loved the pillows. The on-going friendly / community feel & atmosphere at the seating & dinning areas'. The breakfasts' were cooked to specific requests. All to perfection. Wide range of choices, fruit/ cereals, cofffee/ tea/ apple juice etc. Everything was brilliant. My children also loved it here too. The Weather was 50/50. But myself & kids still enjoyed spending time in our room when needed and chatting with everyone there too. On good days out. We also met so many other great local people living & working in Morecombe. A beautiful place & lovely people too.

What a gem of a place. We were welcomed like family and upgraded to an easier access room at no extra cost due to a shoulder injured sustained the previous week. We had the most beautiful room with a balcony overlooking a sunny Morecambe Bay. There was plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits and yes real milk in a little bottle, none of those awful teeny cartons you usually get. The bar had the drinks we wanted at a very reasonable cost, we took them to the room and sat looking over the bay and the lovely sunset from the balcony. There was secure parking at the back of the hotel, which was good as the prom can get very busy with cars and space is at a premium. The breakfast was simple and delicious. Enjoyed our brief stay immensely.

There was not a negative thought or aspect about our stay at the Shipping Lanes Hotel.

When we checked in we were advised that we had been given the room called Trafalgar which is on the 1st floor. It was amazing with a balcony but too cold to use that however they had 2 seats in the bay window which overlooked the sea. As we were there to spend time relaxing this was a lovely room and a great location. There is a car park however we managed to park almost outside the hotel which as my husband has ME was ideal. We were asked for a time for breakfast and our choice for an Full English, there is also a choice of cereal, yogurts and fruit juices. We would highly recommend this hotel and the hosts were lovely and friendly. What more can you ask for.

Lovely hosts, excellent location with sea view, spacious room, exceptionally clean, freshly cooked breakfast to order with veggie options. I liked the use of glass jars and bottles rather than disposable packaging, and consistent shipping theme throughout.

Size of bathroom meant a very small bath and limited room to hang towels/position the toilet roll holder. A lot of stairs! (it was our choice to stay in that room though, so can’t complain!) A mini fridge in the room would have been handy for the milk.

I had a most enjoyable stay at the Shipping Lanes Hotel. I had booked it through booking.com some time ago and got a very good deal. I only wish that I could have stayed longer. The owners made me feel very welcome. My single room was clean, with a small ensuite, and it overlooked a fabulous view of the sea, with the Lake District mountains in the distance. The breakfast was an excellent, tasty, full English, big enough to last well into the day. I fully recommend this hotel, and I would not hesitate to return there next time I visit.

There was nothing to dislike about this hotel.

Location is excellent and Trudy and John are great hosts, They made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed the banter. Breakfast was good This is a dog friendly hotel that was spotless considering there was lots of dogs there, you would not know any dogs had been there Loved it so much, we have booked for next year

Although our room was lovely, it would not be suitable for everyone due to being on the top floor, especially if you have dogs that need walking

The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of food. The bedroom was clean with plenty of drinks available and milk was provided for tea and coffee. I liked the idea that the rooms had names of shipping lanes rather than room numbers and from the hotel there are Fantastic views accross the bay towards the mountains of the lake district. The owners Trudi and Alan made me feel very welcome

I can not think of anything that could have made the stay better. The location is about 5 minutes walk from the center of Morecambe

This is a lovely little hotel, just a 10 minute walk along the sea front to the center of town. Being slightly out clearly helps this gem of a place remain quiet and peaceful. The owners are chatty and polite. The room was immaculate with some lovely little touches here and there. I had a great sea view room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was in an excellent location, being within easy walking distance from The Platform, Happy Mount Park, the beach, bus-stops, pubs and restaurants. The room had a balcony which had stunning views of Morecambe Bay. The bedroom area was decorated beautifully. The bed was very comfortable, the furniture was good and there was a hospitality-tray. The room had ensuite facilities. All areas of the hotel, that I could see, were extremely clean. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and filling. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The bar area and lounge were lovely. This has proved to be a fabulous hotel !

Trudie & Alan were very friendly & welcoming. The room was spacious & comfortable. A desk in the room would have been nice, but they were fine about me setting up my laptop in the dining room.

Could have offered a wider choice for breakfast. However, the breakfast was well cooked & the choice of fresh fruit was very welcome.
