I have used the Rising Sun on many occasions when I am travelling in the area on business. I find the rooms very comfortable and the whole ambience relaxing. Breakfast is very good and high quality. Choice of food in the bar is good and prepared and served to a high standard.

I stayed for a week and the room wasn't serviced during the week. No major issue with this but a change of towels during the week and replenishment of tea and coffee would be good. If you ask for anything then its never too much trouble for the staff to provide your request. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful.

Excellent location for Bristol Airport (10 minutes drive). Pretty pub in lovely village. Friendly welcome and gorgeous room upstairs which was tasteful and more than I had expected. Lovely toiletries included; very comfy bed and pretty decor. Friendly bar staff in the main cosy pub restaurant for dinner, equally helpful breakfast server and excellent breakfast (included). I will definitely stay here again when flying in and out of Bristol Airport - so much more picturesque and cosy than a typical airport hotel.

There was nothing negative I could say about my experience at this property.

The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help, the food was lovely and the room was cosy & spacious. We would just like to mention the chef at breakfast he was amazing, his colleague hadn't turned up that morning & he was literally doing everything by himself, seating guests, serving tea/coffee, taking orders, cooking breakfast, clearing tables and doing checkout...what an absolute star, oh and the breakfast was delicious.

The information in the room wasn't correct, all the menu's had the wrong info and the time for breakfast was incorrect, It wasn't a massive problem more annoying than anything else.

Our stay was perfect from beginning to end. Booked @ short notice in response to unexpected personal circumstances (boiler broken down = no hot water for 72hrs). The staff were warm, friendly, engaging & welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble & quite evident they enjoy what they do & work well together as a team. Our dinner was simply delicious - great choices, fresh, hot & superb quality - most welcome after a long, stressful day! Our bedroom was heaven- exceptionally clean, quality linen, bed really comfortable, choice of hot drinks & bottled water, shower, separate bath - truly home from home. Location perfect for us, as picking up relatives from Bristol airport the following morning. Our breakfast was exceptional - extensive choices cooked to order & each table served independently & a plentiful supply of tea & coffee. No queueing like sheep & eating food that has been kept warm for 2/3 hours. A fantastic, positive start to our day.. My husband & I can’t wait to return.

Nothing not to like, but perhaps a suggestion of fixing a shelf in the shower to put toiletries on rather than ‘us oldies’ having to keep bending down.

The room was excellent . Very comfortable with a great shower and a lovely bed. All I needed in a bedroom.

I had dinner and the following day breakfast. The evening meal was good but I was told there was no mashed potato to go with my steak pie .If you have a potato and a fork, mashed potato is not a big ask! Breakfast was also good but there are two Full English Breakfasts! I was apparently entitled to the standard Full English but if I wanted the other I would have to pay an extra £4. What??!! Get the breakfast menu sorted out.

Everything about this stay was easy! Big carpark, comfy beautiful room, and a pretty bathroom with a big tub! I really liked how easy it was to check in and how we got all the info we needed, the staff were super friendly. The classical music playing when we entered the room was a nice touch :) And the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Good breakfast options too! I loved staying here and would definitely stay again!

The bathroom radiators were a bit rusty but that would be the only fault in this stay, everything else was a dream!

Have stayed here so many times and it never disappoints! It is a perfect place to stay and chill out before flying on holidays from Bristol Airport. Everyone is so chilled and welcoming, and the bedroom is so relaxing. Have already booked another stay on our way home as we have a late flight, so we can feel refreshed before driving home in the morning.

The traffic can get a bit noisy at times, but it doesn’t take away from the whole experience.

Warm welcome from Simon and staff. Arrived early, so sat and had a drink. Rooms up one flight of stairs. Our room, Standard King, was really pleasant. Roomy, view over back of pub into the garden area. Tray of tea, coffee and biscuits provided, as well as ironing board, iron and hair dryer. Nice walk in shower in bathroom, toiletries provided. Had a table booked for evening meal, nice atmosphere. Food very good, pie of the day delicious, my friend had faggots, but not too warm, so these were taken away to arrive back much hotter. A really nice relaxing place to stay. Only ones for breakfast, very good selection to choose from. Definitely recommend.

Nothing really.

This was such a lovely hotel and pub and one of the nicest we have stayed in for a while! Stopped here for one night on our way through from Cornwall and was really good value. Rooms were so comfortable and really good quality facilities, especially the shower. There were nice touches too like calming music playing when you get to your room. We had our dog with us and there was no additional charge for dogs to stay in the hotel. Staff were so nice and helpful and even prepared us a dinner as we were running late to make it by the time kitchen closed. Food was great in the pub and breakfast too. There is also a really big car park and pub garden. Will definitely stay again!!

Location chosen as near family we were visiting. Lovely room, spacious. Great bathroom and shower. Lovely big fluffy towels. Breakfast was good. Plenty of tea, coffee etc on room

As it is on a main road the road noise was a problem however they provided ear plugs in the room which we should have used. They closed at 8pm in the day of arrival which I wasn’t aware of but prob my fault for not reading the details. However they did ring about 3@ mins prior to closing to check where we were and offered alternative check in arrangements.
