Easy check in, just popped into bar to say hello, and was shown to room. Guest information book given on arrival with kitchen times, emergency info etc. Door is key lock not card. Excellent value for money on evening meals with great mixed grill & tasty Hunters chicken. Good sized potions. Good selection of drinks both alcoholic and non. Menu choices for breakfast, but Full English sets you up for the day, or continental if required- vegetarian options. Few stairs (which may pose issue if you have mobility problems) to top rooms- no lift as older property and has no room, but beautiful views from standing room only balcony. Clean bathroom & bedroom which gets serviced everyday, and blackout blinds that worked great. NO HAIRDRYER in rooms, but can get from bar. Very friendly and helpful team, and a lovely cosy pub attached. Loved the secondhand books available, which you could purchase for a charitable donation. Parking to side of & in front of inn. Never had an issue getting a space. Bus stop outside of door for Plymouth. (the photo is the view from room no 7)

Choice of a soft pillow instead of 2 firm, but personnel preference

Nestled beneath the majestic Tamar Bridge, the Ferry House Inn boasts an enviable location that offers a captivating view of the ever-changing scenery as the tide ebbs and flows. Situated right by the side of the Inn, parking is conveniently available, ensuring a hassle-free experience for guests. Whether you're a local or a traveller passing through, the Inn offers three delightful dining options to cater to your preferences. You can choose to unwind in the cosy bar area, indulge in a delectable meal at the restaurant, or savour your food while enjoying the serene ambiance of the seating area by the picturesque River Tamar. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by the Ferry House Inn's superb menu choices, all offered at affordable pub prices. From traditional favourites to innovative culinary creations, there is something to tantalize every taste bud. The staff at the Inn are renowned for their warm and welcoming nature, ensuring that you feel right at home from the moment you step through the door. Their friendly demeanour adds an extra touch of charm to your dining experience, making it even more enjoyable. As you retire for the night, you'll find yourself enveloped in comfort within the tastefully furnished and impeccably presented bedrooms. Each room is thoughtfully designed to provide a cosy and inviting atmosphere, ensuring a restful night's sleep. However, it's worth noting that the duvets could be improved by offering a thinner tog rating during the summer months. Despite this minor drawback, the overall experience at the Ferry House Inn is so delightful that it would undoubtedly entice you to return whenever you find yourself in need of accommodation in the area.

The Ferry House Inn is a quaint local pub, tucked by the waterfront near the Tamar Bridge. The views over the river and of the Brunnel rail bridge were lovely, especially lit up at night. The room was very well appointed, modern and clean. Having the pub downstairs for food and drinks was a bonus. They served the best chocolate cheesecake that I have tasted! The pub is not noisey, so it could not be heard from my room.

It could be closer to my home so that I don't have to drive for five hours to stay there next time!

The location was great with amazing views. It was great having a balcony. The property and room were spotless and furnished to a high standard. Very thick & fluffy towels. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower was lovely. There was a folder containing all the info you need to know about the property, which so many other properties just don't seem to provide these days. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating at all times. Our evening meal was delicious and well presented, and so too was the breakfast. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

The weather! Unfortunately, nothing can be done about the British weather.

Location great. Breakfast was excellent and nothing was to much bother at all. I asked for a cash back and it was done, a bar tab was set up straight away, after there food hours I ask if I could order a Chinese curry and eat it in the restaurant and that wasn’t a problem either also supplying me with a plate and cutlery. Overall very accommodating and I wouldn’t certainly recommend and return myself. The manager (a young woman) was very helpful as well

The breakfast was very good, very tasty and more than I was expecting, I should have asked for a smaller version which was available.

The evening meal had to be taken in the bar as the restaurant was booked, which was very crowded with only a small table available by the gents toilet. I had fish and chips which was ok but the size of the piece of fish was disguised by an exceptional amount of batter. It still tasted ok but not much meat on the fish.

Loved our stay but light didn't work. No really did love our stay. Old proper pub right opposite the river where the original ferry took passengers to the other side. We stayed for two nights, DBB. With a very popular river side seating area and one very traditional large bar together with large restaurant all very nice. Great staff and great Chef producing great food. Huge Full English (pics) The view across the river from the front of the pub and from our room window was spectacular, day time and at sunset. Reached down a small twisty lane to the base of the bridges across the Tamar, and along to the FREE parking in front of the Ferry House Inn and around 6 spaces to the right, marvellous. The rooms have been recently refurbished and are of a good standard all en suite.

I know air con is a rarely available in this country but boy was it hot. With the refurbishment maybe a fan should have been added, maybe a free standing one could be positioned on top of the wardrobe (see pic) Pity there was a small amount of mould in two places on the lovely large shower tray (see pics). Oh the light, turns out that if the bed head is pushed back hard to the wall it turns off the centre light and then it cant be turned on at the entrance by the door. Unfortunately the power sockets are also behind the bed head so no access to then at the head of the bed, There was one on the opposite wall, bit of a nuisance for charging over night, We do like out phones near don't we.

The room had a river view and we had a balcony. It's quite a unique viewpoint of the Brunel rail bridge and the river. (This does not make it noisy) We were also able to go for a walk onto the bridge. The room was clean with tea and coffee facilities and everything we expected to find. We were very pleased with the home cooked breakfast, which had a wide choice and was served in the breakfast room with a view over the river. Parking next to the pub was easy. This is advertised as an inn and is not trying to be a luxury hotel so I felt it was extremely good value for money.

Nothing, this place was exactly as it was described.

We've stayed there twice. We loved the location - we had rooms overlooking the Estuary. The bedrooms are comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. A good menu choice for dinner & their breakfasts are excellent. The staff are really helpful and friendly. No dedicated parking but there is enough room there for on & off road parking. Would book again if we travel again on ferry from Plymouth.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The Ferryhouse is a traditional English pub and we loved it. This was our second stay this year. Rooms are good with great views over the water. Dinner was really good . It was pie night and hubby had the steak pie. Enormous and very filling. I had the home made chicken burger and I really enjoyed it. Proper chicken breast, breadcrumbed and served with bacon, cheese, salad, mayo and sweet chilli sauce and boy did it taste good. Breakfast is freshly cooked and really good too. Friendly staff and a great price.

Bathroom could do with a hook on the wall as nowhere to hang clothes while showering. No glasses in the room for water.
