Loved the whole experience, apart from the food. The cosy residents bar was lovely. The location is stunning.
Wonderful quirky hotel with a Fawlty Towers vibe. There were a few Basil moments which made us chuckle. To be honest that added to the fun of being in this amazing remote location (in a storm!). The only serious negative was the food. I chose a curry because the chef was Indian, but it was honestly the worst curry I've ever eaten. Poor chicken, no spicing and watery sauce. Surprising. The shower drain was blocked with some hair. The restaurant lacked atmosphere. There was a nice log burner but it wasn't kept going all evening.

We loved the location, the food was exceptional both in the evening and the breakfast (good selections, local food, well-presented), the staff was lovely, very helpful and engaged. The night of our dinner, John was by himself and we didn't notice at all. The bar was super cozy and the hotel is convenient if you want to start on a hike, first thing in the morning. Dinner was fabulous and so was breakfast. Bonus points on the fantastic bathroom! Got a bath and shower, freshly renovated. Highly recommend, will come again.
Not a fault of theirs but we were traveling with a person on crutches and there is a spiral staircase - no lift - that is hard to manage when you're less mobile. We managed alright but it's a challenge to consider. They supported us in every possible way though.

The three employees, Chelsea, Marian and Kirsty whom we dealt with at check-in, breakfast and throughout the day were amazing! I cannot say enough about how hospitable they were. The room was spacious and well appointed. The breakfast was very good, and dinners at the bar adjoining the hotel were exceptional. In reading other reviews, I am amazed because I was treated with nothing but respect and care. The hotel is very specific about only hotel guests may use the facilities. Being so near a tourist attraction, I can understand why that would be required.
I really can't think of anything the hotel or the staff did wrong.

It's an old hotel & the rooms are not modern (but are comfortable), so the whole experience was right in keeping with what you would want from an old hotel on the Isle of Skye situated out of a village. The restaurant food in the formal restaurant was great, & there is another in the pub section. The place just felt right after a day full of drizzle and dazzling views. The staff were welcoming.
Quite an amount of a previous guest's head hairs on the pillow slip made you conclude that there had been insufficient linen change. Nasty! Someone's short-cutted.

I was traveling on my room and this little room just drew you in. The bathroom was huge and beautiful. I had an amazing view of the hills and heather from my room. The breakfast was yummy with lots of healthy choices. Breakfast was included in my room. The dinner was great too. After dinner, I wandered around the creeks and hills until 11pm. It was so relaxing. There were a lot of people there, but just enough to be lively, but not disturbing at all. I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Fairy Pools. It was perfectly located for visiting the pools in the morning.
My room was next to the supply closet so it did get a little noisy in the morning.

The hotel is in an amazing location for the stunning views and accessibility around the island.I notice we were given the same room as a previous guest who didn't like it.We loved the room.We found it plush cosy quiet and private . Clearly it had been recently refurbished and they had done a lovely job.I liked the bar area which was very cosy and the breakfast room was lovely.the breakfast was delicious.
I didn't enjoy my evening meal and decided not to eat there again. This is just an observation that the hotel being where it is has to deal with all manner of requests from jump leads for a car to the many requests for coffee and meals for none residents. They could make a fortune if they decided to invest in a coffee van.

The chef went out of his way to cater for my vegan daughter. The heating in the room was very efficient, which was good as it was cold and windy outside. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
My only gripe was with the lock on the bedroom door, which was either very difficult to lock or wouldn't lock at all. I reported it to the staff and they seemed to be aware of the problem but hadn't appreciated how bad it had got.

Location is excellent, right in the heart of the mountains with great views right outside the door. Breakfast was very tasty and dinner in Seamus's Bar next door was good and very reasonably priced. Staff were extremely friendly and obliging.
The rooms were a little basic and in general parts of the hotel such as the bathrooms could do with a little modernisation. The blind in my room didn't work so I had to get on a chair and wedge it up to let in the daylight! Overall, it's a characterful hotel that could die with some long overdue TLC.

The whole experience of staying at the Sligachan Hotel was a blast! The team are superb, and the rooms are utterly cosy and spacious (I even had my own cloakroom!) with a massive comfy bed. Every breakfast was a feast, accompanied by the lovely banter from the team. Will definitely come again in spring.

Beautiful location, very good breakfast - you can choose from the menu. The rooms are nice and cozy.
We booked room with view for two nights but unfortunately we got small room without view (view to container and pipes,...), some equipment was missing (bin for garbage, hairdryer, fridge...). We tried to solve it with hotel staff (we received answer that hotel is fully booked without any offer for compensation). This was really disappointment because we paid quite lot money for it. The second night we were moved to better room with view but the door lock did not work. The hotel looks better on photos than in reality. We also tried restaurant for beer and there was really cold (during March).
