The room was stylishly decorated, it had great lighting that made it very cosy. Nice tea & coffee facility & great to have a fridge. Really appreciated being given fresh milk ! Breakfast - Good quality produce that was excellently cooked. Dinner - Lovely menu with some old favourites but a nice choice of different dishes too. Again excellent ingredients beautifully prepared.

The bedroom window had a Roman blind that had seen better days & was held up with elastic bands ! A bit of a struggle to get it down & harder to make it stay up . We thought the breakfast menu could have done with a little more explanation as to what staying guests were allowed to choose from. Although we were offered juice & tea & coffee we had never stayed anywhere that you weren’t able to have some fresh fruit/ yoghurt/ cereal before having a cooked breakfast.

Beautiful room. Refreshing to find a place that actually matches the pictures. A phone to call reception in the room. Very good bar staff.

Room is badly insulated from noise of other guests. The manager- after ringing him from my room to tell him the WiFi didn’t work on any of my 3 devices, he told me to come downstairs (so that I could tell him precisely the same)! What is the point of the phone? Why is the manager so lazy? Come to my room instead of me having to get dressed properly to walk into a bar and come down to YOU. Manager- take a note from your staff who are all brilliant… you’re there to make your customers stay relaxing and smooth. You run around after them. They do not run around after you!

Excellent staff customer service - easy checkin/checkout. Knowledgeable staff, we were given brilliant tips for the area and where to walk/avoid. Also pointed in direction of offers available at the pub for food & drink. Room was cosy but had enough space for the two of us. Fab bathroom space and shower. We ate on the first night in the restaurant and excellent service and food. Breakfast was plentiful and set us up for the day. Great coffee too - always a bonus. Happy morning staff, from kitchen, serving and cleaning team.

Leaving! At a push - our room was over the kitchen so the extractor fan being turned on in the morning does make a noise.

The Castle Inn is in a perfect location for exploring the local area. There is parking right outside. The building is traditional and beautifully maintained. The decor is fresh and tasteful. The staff were great from check in to check out. Nothing was too much trouble and all of our needs were catered for. Our room was beautiful, clean and well appointed. It had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The food was lovely and again the staff went above and beyond with their service. We had a great stay and would return any time.

The Castle Inn is ideally located for touring the Jurassic Coast. The food, breakfasts and dinners, was excellent; much better than others in the area that we tried. Breakfast choices were extensive. Katie was very friendly and helpful and the chef Jimmy was talented. The room was very comfortable. The car park nearby was also very useful. They were also able to make me Bloody Marys which many establishments cannot and that helped to make my stay. Our family joined us for meals a couple of times and all enjoyed the food. Mind your head!

The gluten free food options were fantastic especially the fish and chips The staff were excellent The location - a 15 min walk to lulworth cove Free car parking - but see below

Confusing communication - on booking.com the hotel says there is no car parking The Butcombe loyalty birthday award - I still can't work out if this was applied. Its impossible to see this from the finalised bill Guys - honestly Mushy peas are not garden peas that have been bashed - mushy peas are totally different The landing and room were definitely in need of some TLC - lots of paint chips

Lovely pub and great location for walking to the shore and sights. Staff were really nice and very accommodating. Breakfast was good, there was a good choice. The room was beautiful and the bed very comfortable. Lots of storage space, a TV, minibar with things you could purchase, and the bathroom was really nice.

The sink in the bathroom is very small so it was hard to fill the kettle or get any amount of water more than a cup. There was one free small bottle of spring water but it might be good to just provide a larger bottle of tap water for ease. We had a room at the side and at 6am people were moving the bins or putting rubbish out or something which was quite loud and woke us up, so we had to shut our window even though it was quite hot.

Beautifully decorated rooms (of which quite a few are dog-friendly) and delicious food right in the restaurant downstairs. The breakfast was extraordinary. Just like the inn, the whole village looks like a fairy tale town, with lots of nice old straw-covered houses and many flowers. A perfect place to visit wonderful Lulworth Cove and Durdle door.

Durdle door was extremely crowded by masses of tourists. A place you should better go to early in the morning or in the late afternoon.

Well appointed,,Quality fittings, boutique bedroom. Very comfy bed..Great facilities..Tea coffee making facilities. Included..Bathroon/ toiletries included. All quality. Ensuite with separate Toilet and separate shower . Car park included. Well serviced room. Nice to be greated with personalised welcome note' and complimentary drink for self and partner. Staff were really friendly and helpful.. Beautiful location, close walking distance to Lulworth Cove. If staying on wednesday night, be sure to download The Butcombe app as it gives access to offers 25% of meals( advised at dinner time by lovely staff member) .. Very busy on Wednesday night. Nice touch by Castle Inn to pre book us for evening meal as was rammed. Breakfast menu choice was superb.Food cooked to perfection. We will be back.Really pleasant experience. Have stayed here previously, but has now been renovated beyond expectations .Ability to upgrade if wish and if rooms are available. Would thoroughly recommend. Its a. lovely peaceful location in Dorset.

It didn't really concern us, but not all couples would like the lack of privacy the shower door afforded. The cost of Drinks in what essentially is a Pub, albeit Gastro/ up market.Expect to pay London Prices and 5% Service charge. I guess as it's West Lulworth there is little competition, a couple of other hostelries in vicinity only..

This is an historic pub, welcoming and popular. Food is not inexpensive but very good and there is a lot of choice. We booked a premium room as it was the only one left and we wanted to join friends already booked there so it was expensive ( for us) but lovely. 15 minutes walk to the cove is wonderful and there are other walks starting from the pub.

Everything was good but if I had to find any downsides I would say its expensive for a pub although exceptional. We would have welcomed a sitting room space where we could have got together to chat or take a drink.
