We have stayed at the Rex Hotel many times. We love the building and location, a grand seafront Georgian 4 storey building, with first floor balcony rooms. The entrance area, bar and reception have more recently been given a very sensitive, stylist refurbishment. All the staff are lovely, they are a small team, they are very helpful. The guest rooms have been simply modified over the last couple of years, they are comfortable. We have only ever slept in rooms with a seaview, I have only experienced an inland room once, it was a single room, the room was small but neat and clean, the view was over the roof tops of Weymouth. Which I liked. There are tea and coffee making facilities in all room and all are en suite. In the balcony room there are 2 collapsable deck chairs in the wardrobe to use on the balcony, which is quite cute. The shower is manually regulated, it’s not difficult to acquire a good heat. Breakfast options are great, there is plenty of choice. Self service for fruit juices, cereal and fruits, table order for hot drinks and cooked breakfasts. Poached eggs are great. They offer kippers which are really good with horseradish. The veggie breakfast isn’t bad. The full English is well cooked overall. The price for the room with breakfast is very good value. The Rex Hotel also offers parking for £12 a day which is very reasonable given parking locally is £4.50 per hour.

This is me being picky…. What I don’t like are some of the modifications, all room I have slept in over the past year now have memory foam mattresses, which have memorised shapes already. I felt like I was slopping towards the edge of the bed, not ideal. The Hot drinks are disappointing, the tea isn’t the best, it’s weak and it would be great to offer cafeterias as the brewed coffee seems stewed, sorry.

Very friendly staff on arrival, great local knowledge and good advice given. Late booking but we had a sea view room which was wonderful.

Breakfast room was downstairs and it was dark and gloomy, due to there being no windows or outside light coming in. This was in stark contrast to the upper floors that had lots of lovely light coming in, giving the place a fresh and airy feel to it. There didn't appear to be much choice in the way of fresh fruit for breakfast and there was just a large fridge that contained the milk and yogurts that you could help yourself to. Not the best breakfast we have had. Having said that, what we did eat was good.

Location was great as we were visiting to see a show at the pavilion. Breakfast was yummy! Room was huge! Cleaning throughout the hotel and our room was spotless!

Nothing much bad to say as we were just using it as a base to get our head down. Unfortunately a group of people were making noise outside the hotel (even though everything was closed) waking us up hourly until 3.30 in the morning so not a great nights sleep. Shower pressure was also pretty much non existent. We reserved an F zone parking permit and had to drive around waiting for someone to leave to get a space, so in hindsight I’d probably plan to arrive around check out time when people would be leaving.

Staff friendly and approachable. Breakfast tasty, brilliant service and comfortable seating arrangement. Great attention to detail. Helpful with late checkout and leaving luggage in storage.

Very noisy at various points through the night - 2am, 4am & 7.30am. Not much done regarding noisy inconsiderate customers chatting loudly (and not just after football match) on both evenings. Affected a restful weekend.

The staff were friendly and welcoming and made us feel comfortable and relaxed from arrival. The hotel was clean and pleasant with nice communal spaces to while away some time over a drink. The view from our balcony was absolutely amazing, thank you. The hotel doors closed quietly and the hotel was well sound-proofed so there was no disturbance to sleep from inside the hotel. We were also pleasantly surprised by how quiet the road outside the hotel was enabling us to have the window open. Breakfast was very nice.

The mattress could have been improved as it dipped towards the outside edge causing me to sleep more towards the middle and risking rolling off every time I turned over. We were in a bit of a dull corner of the restaurant for breakfast.

This was our second stay at the hotel. This time We had a weekend away to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I had asked the staff if they could arrange a birthday cake for our room for when we arrived. They went above and beyond with a cake banners and balloons. The staff are always very helpful friendly and lovely. Decoration is beautiful, very welcoming hotel. Very clean and tidy and most of all very comfortable beds and pillows. We booked a suite with balcony and sea view over looking the fun fair. We also booked the secure garage parking for £12 so we didn’t struggle finding a parking space. This is definitely by far the best hotel in Weymouth, very accommodating and easy, and we’ve stayed in a good few now! 100% recommend The Rex hotel for a lovely stay by the sea. Thank you to all the staff for a perfect weekend.

We have stayed at many hotels and B&B's in Weymouth for years, this was the first time staying at the Hotel Rex for a weekend break. We wish we had found this little Gem years ago!!! The staff were amazing so friendly and couldn't do enough for us, breakfast is as good as we have had anywhere else if not better, great value for money and permit a real bonus. Don't normally bother with reviews but felt this needed to give credit where credit is due.

There is nothing that we didn't like.

Breakfast was good down to earth no frills it was fresh apart from the sausages which I believe were previously Frozen . Staff were attentive. They had good a range of beverages . My room was clean and was cozy .

I forgot to report this The bedside lamp and reading light I couldn’t have on because it was flickering. My room was a little small and the floor sloped which wasn’t a problem until I got up in the night and forgot. The corridors were rather narrow.

Good location for the seafront and harbour.. Clean and comfortable room at the rear of the hotel with plenty of storage space for clothes/bags. Room well serviced daily. Generally quiet inside the hotel so slept well. Excellent breakfasts - good choice, quality ingredients and attentive staff.

A little external noise from the bars outside on Friday night + early morning seagulls, but I do like the window open.

The breakfast was excellent. I can't fault it. The staff were very friendly and efficient. My room had amazing view of the seaside resort, had so much to offer that I didn't need at all like pen and paper, beautiful bathroom. I loved it and can't wait to come back next summer

One slight thing was the shower water went a bit cold every now and then but that might have been cos I was up top of building but it was no major issue, wouldn't stop me coming back
