We had room 10. Lovely welcome and greeting by Pam, room was clean and comfortable, good water pressure, nice toiletries, there were hooks on the backs of doors, plenty of storage, no knick-knacks around so all the surfaces were all available for our stuff, this is always a bonus - no clutter. Kettle, fridge, instant coffee and tea available, with more to collect downstairs if we needed, fresh milk available. Good breakfast, served with a smile. Lovely place to stay with on site parking. In-between Windermere and Bowness, so an easy 10 min walk either way to lots of cafes and restaurants for dinner. Beautiful scenery and walks just a short drive away, once you escape the very crowded towns.

Beds were a bit soft, but that's our personal preference. Breakfast coffee was weak, also a personal preference. The tea was perfect!

My room was so cozy and perfect for me. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the entire room was clean, and it had everything I could have needed and more for a comfortable and luxurious stay. The breakfast was delightful and from what I remember, was sourced locally, which I appreciated. The staff were all so kind and accommodating, and Pam made sure to say hello each morning at breakfast. She made sure that guests were alright, that they slept comfortably, and asked if we needed anything at all. I loved my experience here, and would absolutely stay again.

There was not much I didn't like. I had to check in late due to transportation and Pam stayed and waited on me. I was a bit stressed because I arrived about 10 minutes earlier than I had said I was going to and I rang the doorbell and called multiple times, but no on answered. Being a solo female traveler, this can be quite scary thinking you will not be granted access to your accommodation when requested, and I became quite stressed I would have to figure out alternate plans. Pam came to the door about 10 minutes after my arrival time, and let me in which was a relief. Picking up when I first rang would have alleviated a lot of the stress I was feeling, however.

The breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice, it was in a great location, 10 minute walk up hill to Windermere or 15 minute walk down hill to Bowness. Hotel was clean and well presented and the room was comfortable with great shower and tea and coffee facilities. The young lady who served us breakfast was polite and friendly.

We were in Room 5 which I would say was on the top floor or the loft, although we could manage this after walking 10 miles each day climbing 2 flights of stairs was hard going. Think this should be mentioned when advertised or in the booking comments.

We were offered a coffee upon checking in which was appreciated. Breakfast was cooked fresh to our requirements and were good quality products. Good choice of cereals and fruit salad. The room was spacious along with the bathroom. Toiletries provided and were luxury toiletries. Coffee making facility and coffee sachets and biscuits provided daily along with milk. Bed was comfortable. Large tv was provided. Mini fridge was ideal for snacks and decor was lovely. Great location between Bowness and Windermere with a bus stop nearby. Staff were friendly. Local pub within walking distance.

There was nothing we disliked.

We were given a very pleasant welcome from Pamela (?) who let us check in a little early and offered us hot drinks and tasty home made biscuits. The room had everything as described in working order and looked recently decorated and quite luxurious. There was a large bath and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was very tasty and were offered pretty much whatever we wanted. The location was far enough away from the main towns that it was quiet but a short walk from the busy areas.

Nothing much to dislike. Breakfast could maybe be offered until a little later but appreciate that staff are busy in the morning. The room we had was right next to the breakfast room which was fine but worth noting it can be a little noisy in the morning for light sleepers.

The guest house located not too far and not too near from the local shops and town centre. The staffs are very friendly and made us feel welcome right at the beginning. We were taken to our room. Informations of the services from the place were clearly explained. They also give us advice on different places to visit. The room was beyond our expectation. comfortable, clean and with very nice balcony next to a beautiful mountain side with a running stream. The breakfast also was very tasty and freshly made by order with variety of common breakfasts that you can choose from as well as open bar for cold breakfast such as cereals, yogurt and fresh fruits. Me and my friend ordered Scrambled egg on toast and Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and with a nice hot tea and coffee.

Perfect location - 15 minutes walk to Pier and 15 mins walk to the train station. Very tasty breakfast and good choice of tea/coffee service in a room.

I liked everything about this stay but would be nice to have more choices of vegetarian/vegan breakfasts.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was not only spacious but also well-equipped, providing all the comforts we needed. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of options. The location is perfect, just a short 5-10 minute walk to either Bowness or Windermere, making it easy to explore the area. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay!

Really enjoyed the breakfast. I had eggs royal and my partner had the cooked breakfast. Good choices and staff constantly checking if hot drinks needed a refill or if we needed anything. Was delicious. It was an engagement weekend. Pam and the team sorted the room out with wine, flowers, rose petals. Such a helpful team, we’re available at all times to cater for our needs. Would certainly recommend staying here. Great location and was happy for us to leave our car after check out for the afternoon.

Nothing could have been better. Really impressed.

Just a short walk from the Lakefront, Hawksmoor Guest House is a smart choice for Windermere and Bowness. We chose the Luxury Double Room which was exceptionally comfortable. We enjoyed good sleep due to what I suspect is an excellent Tempur mattress. The bathroom was superb with its under-floor heating, bath (a must after a long hike) and separate shower. The Breakfast menu offered a great variety of delicious options and the courteous staff were more than willing to grant any special combinations of ingredients. All you could want in a guest house really.
