Hostess for check in was personable, cheerful and accommodating - offered a free upgrade to a spacious room with king size bed at check in! The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was fantastic, and the location is great. The room is equipped with refrigerator and microwave, with good light fixtures for bedside reading.

The single factor for this hotel not receiving an exceptional rating is the very mediocre breakfast offered. I suppose one should not complain about what is offered for "free" however it was so subpar, I actually skipped it. An air freshener is used in the rooms during the cleaning process that leaves a pungent order. There is also only one ice machine to service the entire hotel. I was always able to fill my ice bucket but wonder if this might be the case in the hot summer months.

Bed and pillows(!!!) were comfortable. Shower was hot, clean, and modern compared to most affordable rooms. Good amount of breakfast options offered, and the location is walking distance to downtown/coffee shops.

There were a lot of glowing lights during the night - the most problematic being the built in night-light in the sink area. I will travel with electrical tape to cover such things from now on! The room was quiet except for the sporadic banging of the pipes or maybe something on the roof being whipped around in the wind. Thankfully I'm a sound sleeper.

I liked the view, the spacious parking lot, and how sociable/friendly the guy at the front desk was. We didn't get up in time to eat the continental breakfast but when we were checking out, it smelled great!

The vending machine wouldn't take the dollar bills I fed it, and even if it had, the selections were sparce. The pool looked a little sad and unwelcoming, and there wasn't a hot tub. The photos online made the location seem a bit less seedy than it was, but the room itself was perfect.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room and furniture were nice and very clean. The staff was friendly, and the location was great. The reviews were accurate. This is probably the best deal in Chico.

The shower turned itself on for several minutes. My wife got up to turn it off, and as she walked into the bathroom, it turned itself back off. I'm not saying the place is haunted, but that was very strange. Other strange tapping noises sounded like someone's fingernail tapping on a glass table. Then it hit me: this wasn't random tapping; it was in a sequence. Again, strange.

The room was clean and comfortable. We had a problem with the safe in our room, the battery was dead and the safe wasn't working but the staff addressed the problem quickly. The maintenance person was very friendly and professional.

There was an intermittent dripping, tapping, noise that occurred all night long. We were located on the top floor so there no room above us. Not sure what the cause of this noise could be? Something on the roof? It was disruptive to sleeping.

The staff at this location was AMAZING, friendly and very informative. Super polite from the time we checked in until the morning we left! Willing to assist and really provided exceptional customer service, I will be back!

ONE AND ONLY COMPLAINT, was the pool, was a super hot day and we were really looking forward to a swim, Got ready and went to the pool which was a bit dirty, bottom was filthy, stuck a foot in and left =( Understanding it get very windy in Chico too, so I am sure that was a factor.

The staff was very helpful, respectful and considerate. I had left AirPods and a pillow in the room. I received a phone call and when I returned for work the following week they gave me back my pillow. AirPods were given back that same day as the phone call. Didn’t realize pillow was missing until I got home. Very grateful.

Outdoor pool…. Stayed during winter time… lol

This is a basic motel, but it has many good points which make it a great choice and great value for the money. It has a great location in downtown Chico, a short walk from numerous eateries and the campus. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is nice pool, rooms are clean and comfortable with some extra care taken with nice decor elements like pleasant indirect lighting behind the bed and small adjustable reading lights. Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. There is a complementary breakfast which is very basic but it is something if necessary. This place is excellent for the price. We have stayed here several times, first in 2019.

The worst part is the limited parking.

Staff was wonderful, knowledgeable and super helpful. Room was comfortable. I felt very safe staying there w/ my son. Parking lot noise was louder than expected but I was able to sleep. Breakfast was modest, but perfect if on the run.

TV reception was bad. But we weren't in the room for that long. Didn't love the showerheads. Maybe a dip in CLR would help.

This hotel is great! We were traveling this time for leisure. I was not expecting it to be this nice for the price. The location is awesome! It is so convenient to be able to walk to so many restaurants downtown. We were even able to walk through lower Bidwell Park. The staff were very friendly and efficient! The rooms are nicely updated with comfortable bed and pleasing decor. Nice surprise to have daily cleaning again after Covid.

The late-night city noise is not so great due to it being downtown, but it is well worth it due to convenience! The second night we ran our fan on high and the white noise counteracted the city sounds.
