No awkward conversation at check-in because everything was arranged beforehand, and I love it! Whatever you need, coffee, ice, magazines, books, USB cables, is already provided. And the room.. AMAZING and most importantly, sparkling clean! They really paid attention to details. There are actually 3 types of charging cable next to your bed, USB-C, USB, and iPhone. And they know you like to do bubble baths. So they cleaned the hot tub so well it sparkled. And their body wash and shampoos were just hanging on the wall in such a way that you can just press it into the tub to get the bubbles started.

I wish I could do the third night :(

Location is great - right in downtown Dunsmuir. One block from our favorite restaurant. Nicely restored older building. Rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable.

Apparently there is no staff on site. All communication was via text. Mostly that is okay with me, but I wonder about what would happen if there was an emergency (e.g. fire in the hotel). Not a huge deal, but a bit disappointing. It’s nice to have staff to answer questions if one is not familiar with a place, needs a restaurant recommendation, to provide direction in an emergency, etc.

Perfect hotel, renovated only recently. Amazingly well equipped and tastefully decorated room with its own kitchenette, fantastic bathroom with all sorts of toiletries, infinite selection of TV channels and streaming services, etc. Wonderful bed and bedding, super quiet... We had the small 'queen bed' room. In a nutshell - as a 4 star hotel should be. And very reasonable price for a establishment of this category.

Parking is not included but don't let that bother you because it's located in a small town, and there's plenty of parking in the street in front of the hotel. You just need to move the car away on a weekday.

The Mossbrae Hotel is like going back in time but with all the modern conveniences.It truly is a fantastic place to stay if you like quite and a small town atmosphere. We had 2 rooms and both were very clean and comfortable. Thank you Mossbrae Hotel for making our stay in Dunsmuir, CA a real pleasure!

There's nothing to not like about the Mossbrae Hotel.

Easy to find, roomed were absolutely beautiful and didn’t feel like a hotel. The bed was the best hotel bed we have ever slept on!

A bit disappointing that no one was on the property. Our water in the shower was cold- never got warm. A bit of a wait to get into our room- and coffee drip didn’t have a filter so unable to use.

The room was clean and well equipped -the bed was very comfortable

No ice machine, don’t know if I’m a fan of no contact hotel, we were not familiar with the area and it would have been nice to be able to talk to someone. Also, only street parking -which we were aware of when booking -but it’s a 3 hr limit during the day😳

Interesting property in Dunsmuir. There are many empty storefronts, but this hotel was near other open hotels and businesses. I felt safe waking the dog. There is a pizza restaurant in the next block. There are tables in the hotel lobby to use for dinner. The rooms were clean and had a refrigerator and microwave. The check in process over text message was efficient.

Trains were noisy, but nothing they can do about that.

The accommodations were fantastic. The room was gorgeous - I normally don't get excited about a bathroom, but this one was so beautifully done. I appreciate all the little touches and the patio in back was just icing on the cake. I love this hotel, and my partner and I agreed this is "our place". We will be back - sooner than later!

Location was great. We like some of the restaurants and especially the Cobra Lily Bar and Bottle. the room was very comfortable, especially liked that there were TWO chairs for relaxing. Good little 'kitchen'.

I would have liked some softer pillows, maybe a variety of firmness as there were 4 pillows.

We found the property to be lovely, the room was excellent. Great beds, large bathroom, nice location in Dunsmuir- very walkable. Nice mini kitchen in the room nice with coffee supplies appreciated.

I'm hoping they are fixing up the back patio area as it would be nice to have a comfortable outdoor space to sit and have a glass of wine, etc. Maybe even a gas firepit! Also could have used some info for restaurants in the area and days/hours of operation in the room.
