Breakfast was not provided. But we purchased banana nut muffin and a slice of cinnamon coffee cake at the sister hotel, the Hollander both were very good. The location was convenient. The Hollander provided transportation to the ballpark. The driver, Gregg, was great. The St. Pete Golf Cart Tour picked up at the Hollander hotel. Max provided an excellent your of the city. The room, bathroom, and bedding were clean. The towels were a good size not small as another post stated. There’s free bottled water at check-in. The hotel staff provided a quick and friendly check in.

Most of what we liked least has to do with the fact that it’s a historical building and not due to the fault of the owners. -The parking is a little tight. The Avalon and the Hollander share a parking lot. -The bathroom is really small. -Wall unit air conditioning (newer unit but no humidity control). -Bed was not uncomfortable, but not plush and luxurious. -Lighting throughout the facility not as bright as we would have liked. But, windows offer good light.

I liked the vintage, artistic coziness when walking into the lobby area. The staff is amazing and informative. The restaurant was located at the adjoining Hollander hotel next door and the food was great with lots of delicious options. Pool and bar area was amazing during happy hour. The images of the Avalon hotel that I saw online prior to our stay were exactly as the pictures showed. Beautiful hotel and I will be back.

The parking was the only inconvenience because of limited space.

This is a chic old Florida boutique hotel. The Avalon itself is a small hotel with no pool or restaurant, but it's adjacent to the Hollander Hotel which has two full service bars and a restaurant, a coffee bar, a lovely pool, and a spa. The bed was insanely comfortable! My husband opted to miss a tour of Sunken Gardens so he could enjoy a nice nap. A complimentary glass of wine in the lobby was also a delight.

The King room was on the smaller side, which is to be expected in an older building. It was big enough for our needs. One thing that would be a huge improvement to the room would be hanging the bathroom door so it opens up into the bedroom and not into the bathroom. as the bathroom is tiny and you must squeeze around the door to get to the toilet and leave the door completely closed to use the sink. Another thing that would make the room more comfortable would be adding a light in the closet to make it easier for guests to leave their suitcases in there, which would save on space.

although there was a shuttle from the hotel to the Mahaffey theatre, pick up at the theatre ends at 10:45 PM. the desk staff made it clear that this is the last pick-up time. I did not think it would be a problem as the concert was to begin at 8:00; however, they did not play the symphony until 1 hour later. realizing that we would not make it in time to be picked up, we missed most of the symphony. The hotel having staff on duty past 11 PM, and pick up until at least midnight would be welcome.

I absolutely loved this hotel! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks again Larissa for helping me check in when I arrived early. Loved my room. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was excellent. Always had hot water. It’s great that guests staying at the Avalon Hotel can go next door to the Hollander and dine at the restaurant and use the pool. There’s also a coffee shop with delicious coffee and desserts. I’ll definitely stay at the Avalon Hotel next time I’m on vacation in St. Pete’s!

The staff was great. I arrived early knowing that I would not be able to check in but needed a place to park. Ethan issued me a parking pass so that I could leave my vehicle there while I attended my event. Received a friend greeting every time I walked in the lobby. The Avalon is very unique, and I will stay there for my annual trip along with any spur of the moment excursions.

The Tap room restaurant wasn’t as good as previous years. Don’t know why? Our flatbread one night was cold and tasteless. And blueberry pancakes were lacking the promise of blueberries(just a few sprinkled on top) . A little disappointing since it’s usually an amazing experience. Perhaps next year it will return to our expectations . Regardless, this is our favorite place to stay and eat in St Pete and everyone who works there are friendly and helpful.

Incredible location. Quiet with easy access to public transportation, shops, museums, and restaurants. Covered porch for sitting, complementary happy hour daily. Companion hotel next door has amazingly cozy restaurant and sitting area. The pool is there too. Huge umbrellas, outdoor bar and cafe. Salt pool with comfortable lounge chairs and seating. Wonderful staff.

Upon arrival Greeted with champagne : ) Cute retro style decor and good location. It was close enough to the booming Downtown bars but far enough for peace and quiet at night . We had breakfast at the sister property and were pleasantly surprised that it was easy on the pocket for such a nice place. Oh and I cannot forget to mention the bed was truly the fluffiest I’ve ever had in a hotel .

Kitchenette oven was leaning a bit sideways and gave me a motel vibe . Though that’s an easy fix !

Spacious room with a VERY comfortable bed. I had more than enough space and appreciated the fridge and small kitchen set up, though I didn’t really need it. Walkable to many restaurants, the pier and some museums and things to do. The reception area was separate from the suites, with good lounges.

The room was a bit dark, bathroom was somewhat cramped, and the AC seemed a bit funky. Having a patio was nice, but not too welcoming or functional—felt like a place only a smoker would use.
