We stayed in the old part of the hotel. Reminiscent of old style wild west saloon and hotel, but with all modern conveniences. Surprisingly comfortable. Room and ensuite were small but had everything we needed. Restaurant food and service were excellent. Folk music in the evening was most enjoyable and stopped at 9pm. no noise at all from bar or restaurant after 10pm, very quiet. Hotel gave us excellent recommendation for breakfast at Farmhouse Cafe, a few miles out of town.
Everything was great. there are roadworks along the main street, but no noise problems.

Loved the unique atmosphere, live music at the bar, and excellent location. Restaurant was extremely understaffed, but the food was delicious, and I'm glad we waited. Enjoyed the fireplaces in each room.
Communication could be better amongst the front desk. They allowed us into our 1st room early and promised us 2 rooms together. When we went back to check into the 2nd room, it was given to someone else. We were placed in separate courtyards - which was less than ideal when traveling with kids. The 2nd room was also much smaller than the room we had been promised. Unfortunately, they were completely booked, so there was nothing we could do.

The atmosphere at the Taos Inn is exceptional. The bed was very comfy, thank you for the extra blankets which we used because it was cold, the bath-shower combo had a grab rail for safety and our room (king suite) was quiet and charming. We enjoyed the morning coffee in the lounge and dined at the inn two nights in a row. The food at both the bar and Doc Martin's is excellent. The location right opposite the plaza was very handy. The decor was very New Mexico and having a kiva in the room was a treat. Taos is an understated little town, there are some great things to do and see here. Plan a couple of nights at least.
I offer these as suggestions and not criticisms because we absolutely loved our stay :) 1. At our Santa Fe hotel there was coffee and tea 24 hours a day and we enjoyed the convenience of having a hot drink available given there was no facility in the suite for coffee/hot water. 2. I would also suggest that in winter, the inn offer guests with kivas in the room free firewood rather than selling it for $8 a bundle after the first night's free bundle. The only alternative was a small electric heater which has hazards of its own compared to wood (and probably costs more than a wood fire).

I loved Julie at reception. Was always there to answer questions, give suggestions, etc. I loved the access to morning coffee and tea. I loved the coziness of the bar
The first night I froze because I could not find any HVAC control and chilly air blew all night. The next day I learned I had to drag out an electric heater each night for warmth and I learned to find "a little black knob (which I hadn't known about earlier). It had been on "cool air" but was easily turned off when found. Not important but, my room had been skipped one day of cleaning although my "Clean My Room" sign was out all day. A continental or mini "snack breakfast" would have been nice.

It was very charming with its historic architecture and we loved how the lobby space was very social at night. We also loved that dogs were allowed, it made our travels so much easier.
I think the only thing that I could say as a negative is that the radiant heater in the bedroom would make loud banging noises when it was cooling down which would wake me up periodically. My dog and partner slept through it though so it is really only negative if you are a light sleeper like me. But I thought the room was so nice and warm and cozy!

Close to main Plaza. Room and bed was comfortable. Shower pressure was weak.
We checked in at 8.30pm. Expecting that the restaurant would be open until 9pm for dinner as stated in their hotel info. We even received a text confirming this information! But we were told the restaurant had stopped making meals for the evening! That was a problem as the other restaurants also stop serving dinner by 9ish! Thank goodness McDonalds was open!!! We were starving after a long drive. So… Make sure you get to Taos early enough or eat before you get to town.

The people that we talked to were really nice. The dark haired receptionist was very nice and helpful. I didn’t get her name. The guy that was trying to clear the snow and water off of the pavement was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and good size. We loved the fireplace. The bartender was also very helpful with a special request for a wine bucket. It was a very comfortable atmosphere. We will stay there again if we stay in Taos in the future.

Casual inn one block off the main Taos Square and close to all attractions. We loved the lobby/gathering/bar area where music can be found almost every night. Gas -fired kiva stoves added much warmth in the cool evenings.
Our room was smaller than I would have liked but the schematic of the hotel indicated that most rooms were on the smallish side.

The room was beautiful and we enjoyed the fireplace. The bar area is fun, the food was good, and we enjoyed good conversations there with other travelers and the music was great too. The location in the center of town is excellent and it is a short drive out to the Pueblo, the Gorge and the Millicent Rogers Museum.
The room carpet could have been cleaner. But it wasn't so bad that we went back to the front desk or anything. Overall the hotel cleanliness we would rate as good.

The room was really nice and even had an old fireplace (not in use, of course). We loved the decore and the mood of the Inn with live music and good restaurant on the premises.
For the price, a real breakfast should be included. Our room had the heating on when we arrived! It took some time to get it at a normal temperature, especially because 2 windows were broken and we couldn’t open them.
