November 2024

I stayed in November for some Spring hiking. The room was very cheap and I just needed a place to crash for 1 night so I didn’t have high expectations for what it would be like but I was absolutely thrilled with the quality on arrival. I stayed in the cedar cabin and although very simple and a little dated - it was cute, and exactly what was needed for a short stay, also very clean and well cared for. The amenities block was another surprise - relatively newly renovated and amazingly clean. Far nicer than most caravan / tourist parks I’ve stayed at before. For the cost, I was beyond happy and will definitely be staying here again. The site was perfectly positioned to nearby hike trails.

The cabin was perfectly surrounded by nature. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed to enjoy ourselves a hot meal. The toilets and showers were exceptionally clean. The beds were clean and comfortable. The management went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

The TV was small but who goes in the bush to watch TV - I enjoyed my beer with my own bush TV aka campfire. There was no wifi coverage in the bathroom but it must be because the cabin had Starlink and the bathrooms were a bit away from the cabin.

Bathrooms were wonderful - heated floors and very updated amenities. Camp kitchen was large, enclosed and well stocked with a large indoor bbq hotplate that easily catered for our group of 14. The indoor wood heater in the camp kitchen was also well used, much nicer that sitting outside around a campfire in the cold evenings!

Not much privacy in the cabin as the double bed was in the main living area.

Close to snow fields, good shower blocks, nice warm cabins, park is small and everything is close to cabin. Walking trails are close. Very quiet place.

Obviously night rates are a bit crazy for what you get but it's a season+location thing so not surprised. Cooking appliances are a bit weak (not sure why, probably due to basic gas systems). Simple dinner meal may take up to 1 hour to cook in winter (including communal kitchen ovens).

Liked bushland setting- this is why we are return visitors. Plenty of space inside is welcome.

An outdoor area for casual use such as afternoon tea would be appreciated. When we wanted a cuppa outdoors, we carried it to one of the nearby picnic tables, but this would not suit in inclement weather.

The cabin was well equipped...lots of cutlery, crockery and pots and pans. Showers very clean and plenty of hot water

The TV was a bit small but not a big issue. Didn't realise the accommodation was in the National Park so need to have a day pass to stay there

The welcome in arrival was friendly and helpful. The amenities were recently renovated and in great condition, a real pleasure to use. The camp ground is shady and sites are roomy.

Cabin was warm and close enough to the toilets to be reasonable - the possum was a great hit and just wanted more attention. Cheeky pos! Cooking facilities were adequate and the room was clean and comfortable.

Road was a bit rough, bathroom had time limits on the showers. The cost was a high for a caravan park.

Great location for a weekend in Koscuisko national park, would definietly stay here again. Great value for money. I would recommend to friends

Kitchen equiptment was a bit hit and miss, we had only 1 fork but enough knives for 5 people. Which was fine for a couple of nights but might frustrating for a longer stay.

The location is fantastic for skiing at Perisher. Amazing hot shower and toilet facilities and common kitchen area has wood fire stove. Sushil, the manager is friendly and helpful.

In a future upgrade it could be good to have two sinks in the kitchen for peak season although this is not an issue in normal times.
