The property is a lovely building in a quiet cul-de-sac, walking distance from the shops and restaurants in Jindabyne. We loved the variety of common areas available to spend time in, and we particularly enjoyed reading in the top lounge and enjoying the incredible view. We also enjoyed a couple of games of pool in the games room. The breakfast was outstanding quality, with muesli, fruit, toast, boiled eggs and more on offer. The coffee was wonderful too. We were grateful for the early breakfast time so that we could get out into the amazing surrounding areas. There is plenty to do, including many beautiful hikes, mountain biking, swimming in the lake, and really good quality restaurants. We enjoyed a beautiful lunch at Wildbrumby schnapps distillery and also dinners at Crackenback Farm and Cafe Darya. The hosts were extremely welcoming and generous with their time, giving us plenty of recommendations for things to do based on our abilities and interests.

A couple of very minor things were that the pillows were not super comfortable (not enough support) and the sound insulation isn’t great so we could hear footsteps from above while in our room. The parking is an also little tight, but manageable. However none of this impacted on our enjoyment of our trip.

I liked that we were greeted on arrival we walked in front door then pressed the bell for assistance then was assisted and shown around. I loved that the room had quite a large bathroom which I very much loved because it meant I wasn't squished when trying to move around which can sometimes be hard with my medical on some mornings. I loved the surroundings and the area it's self being not right in town near a pub or something like that and that it was quiet. You can have breakfast at a communal dining area if you want to. I couldn't stay as needed to head off early to an appointment but the lovely host offered me a piece of fruit to take with me in the road and I happy accepted a couple of Bananas just to start off my morning. I very much appreciated that thanks. 🙂

Just one thing that the fridge was outside the room and not inside that was my only concern as someone with chronic conditions I would very much prefer a fridge Inside my room for water or if I need to put my medications inside and I wasn't comfortable to do that with fridge outside the room.

The hostess (Cynthia? - I should have done this sooner!) was absolutely lovely and very welcoming. My room was gorgeous and the Lodge had 2 or 3 different areas to relax and socialise with others. I thoroughly enjoyed the top lounge area, looking over the lake with a glass of wine :-)

the only thing that lacked just slightly was the limit of options for breakfast (I would have liked a cooked breakfast), but given that it was off-peak season, the continental breakfast was still a fabulous spread and a sterling effort in putting it together for us. Thank you

The hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Good proper coffee and great service. It’s a really good place to stay if you’re wanting to be in Jindabyne and close to town. We walked to dinner and down to the lake. The room was cosy and super clean. The Lakeview room we stayed in has the most stunning view. It’s the pick of the rooms I imagine.

The room was a little noisy over Easter with lots of people on their balconies in nearby apartments talking late into the night - Not a fault of the lodge though! A small coffee table in the room would have been good and a shelf in the shower so you could use your own toiletries.

The view!! Breakfast was delicious; fresh and varied with many options to enjoy; I especially liked the coffee, the avocado and the bread The soap is natural and has a pleasantly aromatic Decor is pleasing and stylish and comfortable, and the garden is relaxing and interesting The hosts were very friendly and helpful and responsive; they gave us some ideas about the area which we implemented

Our room was wonderful ... as it was under the dining room I was woken by the host preparing the aforementioned delicious breakfast:)

Troldhaugen is like a second home away from home; it’s warm, cozy and clean. It works as a perfect getaway for a couple whom doesn’t mind the occasional company of other guests in the shared lounge area or for a ski trip. Claire and David are the loveliest people you will meet, Claire looks after your needs; always offering a helping hand with anything at any time. David is a great guy; always offering an extra cup of coffee at breakfast and has all the great advice when it comes to skiing! Breakfast was simple; toast/eggs and coffee was brilliant. Room were clean and the hot water was ample! I’m amazed that they have been operational for more than 8 years and I just found their lovely spot now. Can’t wait to be back! Thank you for an amazing time Claire and David!

Absolutely Everything!! The lodge was beautiful, the lodge owners were absolutely amazing and so welcoming and friendly, I’ve stayed in 100’s of places over the last 20 years and this has to be right up there with the best experience! The included breakfast was absolutely delicious and the homemade Bircher Muesli to die for and so nice having a Barista made coffee to wash it all down! The views over the lake are stunning and breathtaking and the rooms cozy and snug! The lodge really encapsulates the alpine vibe!! Was so nice also having complimentary schnapps in the upstairs lounge and warming up by the fireplace to finish a great day! The downstairs lounge also has a great pool table and vintage arcade machine (which brought back some memories) along with a lovely lounge and big screen TV to chill out too (My only regret is I forgot to take my chicken and snacks out of the fridge before I left … sorry about that!) I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

Not the best place to sleep in cuz you can hear people next door talk, but the atmosphere is not comparable by any other lodge in the area, host is super welcoming and warm-hearted, brekkie was simple but are good enough for the morning. Beautiful lake view from the dining room window as well.

Car park is not as enjoyable but it’s located at the end of the street, so off-street parking works as well

An amazing stay, couldn't ask for a more welcoming and comfortable experience! Highly recommend staying here. The hosts were so warm, friendly and helpful. The room itself was spacious, well lit, the bed was comfortable and the whole place was spotless! Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, what a spread! And afternoon tea was a nice touch too, we appreciated a little snack after a long day's walk. Well worth the price.

David and Claire are welcoming and friendly. The lodge is away from main shops and street but still walking distance. The view is like no other. The breakfast is delicious and it's so lovely to meet and chat with fellow guests over breakfast, which you can also do so in shared lounge areas, over a wine, local schnapps by the fire at night time.
