Great location, help yourself breakfast, tea toast coffee cereal was very good, food at night was great, with one major exception, we arrived early and were let into our room which was much appreciated, we were told about the new metro station which was a five minute walk away, and brilliant for getting around the city

We had burgers on the specials menu, and they were disgustingly, Nothing but gristle and fat, Neither of us could eat them, all the other meals were great, especially the steaks,

The King Suite was fantastic! Perfect for a quick visit to Sydney with a very active 8 year old. The large room gave him plenty to explore & get excited about. The bed was lovely & comfortable, the bathroom extremely generous in size. Nice to be able to open the big old windows for fresh air. The fully equipped kitchenette & sitting room were a welcome addition to our stay. Plenty of street parking if you're only staying for the night. The renovations of this grand old hotel are beautiful, I'll happily stay here again.

Beautifully decorated room with the bonus of an opening window onto a quiet courtyard. Breakfast room and guest lounge were again, beautifully decorated, comfortable with all you would require. Bus stop beside historic North Sydney Oval directly over the road making it very easier to get around. Don't let the thought of staying in a pub put you off. As a single woman traveller I felt welcome and at ease.

I would have liked someone to carry my small bag up the stairs but that's probably being a bit precious.

Great location. Very handy. I didn’t really get to use the facilities as was a quick stay but I’d try the bistro next time, was nice and busy. Loved my room but could not get the aircon to play ball. Maybe it’s me!

Not much. I’d stay again. I suppose it’s not in the heart of North Sydney but it is great value for money and the rooms are better than you would expect.

I love the interior design and decoration, feeling like sleeping in a live heritage building. The room is spacious compared to the normal hotel room. The location is also convenient. We could park our car near the hotel for free during the weekend and it's easy to drive or use public transport to City.

Though the room was clean overall, there was mild unpleasant smell when I firstly walked in. It disappeared after opening windows for a while.

The staff were amazing (sorry didn't get their names) and I was shown around the floor on arrival. The shared bathrooms were really clean and the room was clean and comfortable. It was quiet, too. The sitting area off the kitchen felt homely. I was very impressed, particularly for a pub stay with shared bathroom.

I don't know the area well to know about the location.. otherwise, it was great. If I had to be critical, it's odd that the air-conditioning is controlled centrally, but it didn't bother me, and it was explained when I arrived. I would definitely stay again.

excellent value accommodation in an area where good affordable rooms are not easy to find. The rooms vary in size so you get what you pay for - but the decor and modern bathrooms are of the same quality and vintage whichever rooms you choose (at least from our experience of staying a couple of times) Very comfortable beds, and there is a communal kitchen and lounge if you want a simple breakfast or a sofa to stretch out on. We have found parking in the surrounding streets easy to find if you are checking in later in the day, where there is time restricted parking 8.30am to 6pm. Check in is at the bar downstairs. Nice 15 min stroll to Crows Nest where there are heaps of good value eating spots as well.

As guests hailing from the tropical region, we found the room to be perfectly cozy with the cooler climate of the area. The quiet atmosphere of the rooms and the amicable staff made for a very comfortable stay. In addition to this, the immaculate cleanliness of the premises and its prime location were definite bonuses. Being close to a cafe that provided exceptional coffee and a serene park that offered a relaxing ambience was one of the highlights of our visit. The food at the hotel's pub was incredibly delicious and the welcoming nature of the patrons truly made our experience unforgettable. We were particularly impressed by the soundproofing of the rooms which resulted in us sleeping soundly every night.

The hotel surprised me. I didn't know what to expect but the room was great. The bed was comfy and it was quiet. The kitchen and lounge was a nice feature where you could chill with a wine and a book or breakfast in the morning. The pub is good. A no nonsense Aussie pub with nice staff. For the price you pay it's a great find.

Ok, so splitting hairs (especially at the price) but I'd have preferred different pillows but to expect a choice of pillows isn't going to happen at this price point. There is some roadwork on the street so if you were in a room next to that it might be annoying but that would be my only watch out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the North Sydney Hotel. The hotel was walking distance from North Sydney train station, surprisingly we didn't hear any noise from the hotel and the food in the bistro was reasonably priced. The kitchen facilities and continental breakfast met our needs. Overall we had an enjoyable stay and would happily return the next time we are in the area.
