Location was amazing, our room looked right over Oyster Bay. We got up both mornings to watch the sunset which was absolutely stunning. The room was comfortable and spacious. The only place we stayed in Tassie that had a bathtub which is awesome if you have aching muscles from hiking! Loved the retro vibes!
Only thing that was disappointing is that we stayed on the nights that the restaurant was closed. If you are keen to eat there, check their website first before planning your dates so you don’t miss out. We would have loved to eat there, it comes with some great reviews. But I guess that just gives us an excuse to come back!

The view from our room was beautiful (except when it rained !). We was three back from the front of the hotel but still had a lovely view of the sea, golf course and bowling green. The location was excellent, close to town. Added bonus was they had a guest laundry room which was not mentioned. Facilities included plates, cutlery, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge. Very happy we had a bath as this was the first one on our travels around. It was great to have a soak rather than a shower. Very good value for money. The receptionist gave us a very warm welcome, one of the best we have had in our travels around Tasmania.
Beds are a tad on the soft side and the bath was rather small (but not a criticism and I loved having one)

Loved every single thing about the Waterloo, we stay at a lot of Motels because I love the atmosphere of a great Australian Motel and this one is right up there as one of my favourites that I stayed in. Room was incredibly well stocked with fridge, microwave and quality teas and coffee facilities. Incredible views, super clean room, great shower, excellent heating - the owner was also kind enough to turn the heater on for us as she knew we weren't going to be back until late. Also gave us some great recommendations for food around town and up in Bicheno where we were heading. Thanks so much for having us at the Waterloo!

Our host was very pleasant and helpful. Due to my friend’s ongoing hip pain, she moved us to a ground floor room to save climbing the stairs. The room was very clean and comfortable and the front door looked onto a lovely view of the Bay. We were also very happy to be able to use the laundry free of charge. I would definitely recommend this hotel .
Not a great choice of places to eat in the evening. But the pub was suggested where I had the best crumbed scallops ever. Plus a new little cafe had just opened up across the road and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast there on the morning we left.

The location was exceptional and we really loved the view of Oyster Bay from our room. The room was comfortable and spacious but it was the staff that made the stay memorable . We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and Charmaine had flowers, chocolates and a card for us in the room to make it festive . They also were very considerate about us arriving late and made a special effort to make it easy for us . The stairs were a little slippery after the rains and I wish they were covered to make it easier but otherwise this was a lovely stay and I would go back again. Having a complimentary guest laundry , adequate parking and a grocery that was minutes from the hotel is a bonus
The stairs .. makes it hard with luggage .

What a gem of a Hotel/Motel.. absolutely loved our time in Swansea.. the Family rooms booked were clean , quiet and comfortable.. all staff were friendly and helpful … the position on the beachfront made for a lovely outlook.. close to all amenities, cafes, restaurants.. our grandson loved the grassed area out the front, the oval at the back and walking distance to the jetty for fishing.. We would definitely stay again ( wish we had more time this trip).. and would highly recommend a stay in beautiful Swansea

Staff were amazing, we got held up while driving but they were really helpful organising late check in and giving us all the info we needed to ensure our first night was comfortable. The place is retro but well-maintained and clean. Very cozy and calm place to stay after a big day hiking at Freycinet :)
The private balconies have windows into other peoples rooms so you need to keep one of your curtains closed for privacy. Not a huge deal but worth noting!!

The hotel was right on the beach with great walking paths around the golf course and beach areas. Though not associated with the Hotel, the Waterloo Restaurant was exceptional.
Though clean and comforable the rooms were very dated. Unfortunately on one of the nights we stayed there was a very noisy early hours disturbance in the room above us.

Loved being able to hear the ocean from our room, and looking out over the lawn to the dunes. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was great. We only stayed one night, but I could have happily stayed longer.
I wish we'd arrived a little earlier in the day, and didn't have to leave so early in the morning - feel like I didn't get a chance to really enjoy the surroundings.

Quick and efficient check-in from very friendly and helpful staff. Room spotlessly clean and tidy with all the amenities we had expected. Staff gave excellent advice on where to eat in the town. Very quiet sunny room with balcony overlooking attractive beach and sea views. Good value accommodation.
Would have liked to have stayed longer but partner was unwell that weekend and we made an unscheduled return home to Hobart.
