The grounds are absolutely gorgeous! We loved walking through the vineyard and sitting by the little lake watching geese as they fell asleep and then continuing our walk to visit the sheep and alpacas. At night we loved sitting by the bonfire and taking in the uninterrupted view of the stars. The estate is also close to town which is great - especially if the farmers markets are on. The staff were very friendly and if you love animals the estate was home to two beautiful cats mum and daughter Lexi and Scrumpy!

A few things of note. Our room was right next to the entertainment room which housed a pool table and which could get a little noisy at night (despite the space closing at 11). There were chairs outside our ground floor room and during the day we had people come and sit in these chairs which meant we had to draw the blinds closed, losing the natural light. I would suggest an additional lamp in the room as the roof light was quite dim and additional face/hand towels in the bathroom (one hand towel and one face towel for two people is not enough).

The property itself was beautiful with beautiful surrounds. Room was clean and comfy and had everything we needed for a two night stay. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little concerned with noise levels, however, my partner and I did not hear so much as footsteps outside our room, let alone any rowdy people as other reviews have suggested. Overall, we had a relaxing and comfortable stay! breakfast was rustic and delicious, however we didn’t eat dinner at the restaurant based on the mixed reviews, but lots of options in the area surrounding the property . The wine tasting was great and we even took home a couple of bottles.

My only qualm would be the price of the drinks at the property, however, it is a winery and a somewhat ‘upmarket’ venue, so we expected a higher price point. In terms of value for money, my partner and I received a discounted room rate which we were happy to pay for this type of accommodation, and believe we received excellent value for money. If we had paid the full rate, not sure if it would be considered great value for money.

Cleveland Estate fulfilled all our expectations providing a fabulous overnight stay in Lancefield. The facilities and gardens are stunning and the room was perfectly clean and peaceful. There was a slight mixup with our room which was resolved immediately. Thank you to Kate who went above and beyond to ensure our room and stay was perfect. Will definitely return to Cleveland Estate, a hidden gem easily accessible from Melbourne. The buildings and facilities have been developed with vision and sensitivity to the environment, providing stunning panoramic views to the hills.

Nothing apparent!

From the minute we arrived Kate was welcoming and told us all we needed to know. Beautiful grounds, complimentary drink hour, fantastic dinner options at the onsite restaurant. Hearty breakfast and a super cute cat to help you start the morning :) Bed was super comfy and great to have the patio access. Checking in was a breeze and super friendly, booking was easy, lots of information provided. Ended up being very good value

There was a slight noise of a tap running or pipes after you would use the tap or toilet? Not sure what that was but honestly that’s the only thing I can fault.

Good sized rooms overlooking the lovely landscaped grounds - very relaxing in the beautiful setting around the homestead. The view from the restaurant and deck over the vineyard were stunning. Kate at Reception was a delight and the breakfast spread was delicious. The set dinner one night was delicious and enjoyable with attentive friendly service. The winetasting was interesting just a little busy with the Easter crowds. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the wonderful setting and will return when next in the area.

There seemed to be a staff shortage on one of the biggest weekends of the year so it needed a bit more forward planning by management. The bar was closed each night from 6pm and for a 4 star property and a service that was promoted as a feature it was a bit disappointing. The restaurant did explain the situation and offered to provide drinks.

The grounds were beautiful, and there were so many hidden gems throughout the property. We went wine tasting underground in a cellar lit by beautiful candles, played pool and chatted on the beautiful leather couches. Shared a classy cocktail in the lounge where I had the "best cocktail" I have ever tried called Christmas Buttercup. By nightfall we walked through the beautiful gardens and food a fire pit where the wood was set up for someone to light. My partner and I sat by the fire and looked at the stars. Breakfast was rustic and wholesome and the coffees were delicious. Can't wait to go back and stay a couple of nights.

Absolutely nothing

The rooms were incredible and the staff was incredibly helpfull. Very clean and spacious, with great amenities. The atmosphere was lovely with all the vineyards around us.

The restaurant and in house food was just bad. The breakfast was not good but better than dinner. However for dinner, you pay around 120 dollars per person and it was inedible, we went to bed starving. Luckily there are many other good restaurants around the area that you can opt for.

A beautiful hotel set amongst landscaped cottage gardens and heritage buildings. Room was spacious and well appointed with everything we needed for our short stay - aircon, comfy bed, toiletries. The staff were incredibly friendly and very accommodating. We stayed over Christmas and they called ahead to ensure we understood what facilities would be available during our stay.

Bed was comfortable room was nice, TV was a little difficult to operate had to get help. Staff were nice and helpful. Dinner was excellent drinks were expensive we thought. Breakfast was ok plenty of food and a good choice. Toasters really didn’t toast the bread, need to fix that issue. Could use a blanket for the bed in the room my feet were cold. Had to use my coat and turn the heating up, then we got too hot in the night. Apart from the two issues we thought the hotel was nice and in a beautiful location.

Toasters not really toasting and the setting was on quite high. Required a blanket for the bed, TV not really easy to use for the non tech savvy person. That is about it.

Nice location

We had a lovely time, my only disappointment was we stayed on the Sunday night and everything in the complex was closed which we were not notified, also on the Monday morning we went for breakfast which was part of the package and it was finished by 830 , so I think we should have been told about this, More information should be in the rooms to let you know what is happening at the facility!
