The twin suite had just about everything to help make my stay enjoyable, including bar fridge, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, coffee/tea/sugar, crockery, cutlery, iron, ironing board, hair dryer and reverse cycle air conditioning. The shower was hot, the bed was comfortable, Wi-Fi mostly functioned and was fast enough for work purposes (I didn't try streaming video). Location is at the city end of Lygon Street so the CBD is just over a 1 km walk (10 to 15 minutes). Staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for money for a long weekend in Melbourne. I would definitely stay here again.

The room didn't have any detergent and sponge/scourer to wash up crockery and cutlery (I don't know if it's supposed to have these or not). The shower curtain didn't stop water splashing onto the bathroom floor but that's minor. Wi-Fi access tended to drop out several times during the evenings; perhaps this is dependent on room location? The rear fire stairs lead to the ground floor car park and there is a security gate leading to the lane at the rear of the building, beside the electric gate for vehicles, but it was locked and wouldn't open from the inside. This was concerning as it seemed like the only exit from the building would be through the front lobby/reception on Lygon Street in the event of a fire.

Excellent value for money! We paid around $500 for 3 nights for our family of 4. There were 2 large beds, modern bathroom and a basic kitchen. The room was spacious and reasonably quiet. You had noise from the hallway but neighbours seemed considerate and you couldn't hear between walls. Great location. Lots of delicious food nearby and we walked into the city each day.

Don't be put off by the very casual and basic reception. I did second guess my choice when it seemed more like a YHA on check in, but the room was just fine. We only had the room serviced one day but that seemed to be lack of staff and they came in when we got back after a long day, so declined a service.

The executive Queen room was convenient given I could do some cooking when I wanted. I also liked the fact that they have a smart TV which made programs so easy given I had a 5 yr old child who watched any children program happily. They also gifted me a late check out (12 noon) for some little inconvenience at check in (was allocated an occupied room & opened the door to the surprise of a guest already living there).

Parking was very expensive given pvt parking next door was much cheaper. They could do better by providing descent cutlery, cereal bows (only was available) and providing a new cleaning sponge, one which was in the room seems to have been used many times by previous guests. Disposed it in the bin to avoid next guests having to use it as well.

Great central location at the wonderful Lygon Street, Carlton, Melbourne

The Reception staff (with 1 or 2 exceptions), were absolutely terrible! They were inattentive (one just looked at me and yawned; another was caught just playing with his phone, another stood there frowning and looking at me weirdly, others made no eye contact and were very disrespectful), got things wrong, and in some cases rude and shouting. They all seemed to by ill mannered and not quite with it teens, or very young. Incredibly bad! I strongly urge the owners to sack most of these so-called 'reception staff' and employ proper, attentive and respectful people who don't get things wrong all the time!!!!

The room was nice, everything was in good working order

The door room wasn’t completely sealed so we could hear sounds from the corridor coming in to our room as well as light coming into the room from the passage. The shower had a hole at the bottom which was a bit concerning and could also lead to bacteria mould and other things. The parking situation was very annoying as I had nowhere to park my car. I had to get up extra early and move my car every two hours as there was no parking for patrons. My suggestion would be great if had extra parking or maybe even some agreement with the local council with parking vouchers or something for patrons staying at the hotel to be able to park without having to worry about this.

If you like Italian cuisine, then definitely consider this place! It's located on Lygon Str. which is full of authentic Italian restaurants. It's somewhat half way between CBD (30 mins walk to Flinders Station) and the Zoo (45 mins walk), very convenient if you like walking. The place itself is a bit old, but the staff does a pretty good job in maintaining everything, so no complains. The reception is open 24/7, so there is always someone if you need help. My room was facing the back of the street, so it wasn't noisy at all.

The staff that were on at the time were very helpful and accommodated us at an earlier time due to having surgery the same day. They called as soon as the room was ready. All prior contact with me was great 👍 . Parking was arranged and we parked before actual check in time , we arrived at 10am so that was a bonus saving us the hassle of getting a park nearby. Parking was a little extra cost very secure safe car park underneath parking spots are a little tight however for what we got and required just perfect for us. Will definitely be staying again for long weekend breaks 👍🙂

Good value for money, in excellent location for fabulous Lygon St. Good size rooms, lovely new bathrooms and quiet if you have room back from Lygon street. FoH staff were excellent, so friendly, helpful and happy to assist with every request. Close to transport, restaurants and cafes. 24 hour reception is fantastic. Would return again.

Rooms abutting Lygon St are a bit noisy. This is not the hotels fault, just traffic noise. This is the only fault with this very good hotel. .

Staff were really helpful, both prior to arrival in answering questions and while there. The location was great, a 25 minute walk, or free tram ride and 15 minute walk, from Southern Cross Station (where airport bus drops you off). Lots of eateries in the area, a couple of 7/11 shops very close and a Woolworth supermarket within short walking distance. For culture vultures, the Melbourne Museum is a 10 minute walk, and the city centre/Central Business District is just 15 minutes away. The studio apartment was spotlessly clean, although it was a bit odd that the staff did not make the bed each day. Fresh towels and toiletries were regularly replenished. The kitchen had a hob, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle. There was a good sized TV with local channels. The price was good.

This has been one of the best rooms I've stayed in for my short term visits in Melbourne. The room was large and had an excellent kitchen making it a good place for a long term stay if needed. It had two comfortable armchairs, a writing desk with a comfortable chair. Even the bathroom was large so I enjoyed the spaciousness. It's location on the doorstep of Lygon Street with a large choice of eateries is a bonus. The staff were great. I will definitely be back.
