Excellent location. Walkable to most tourist destinations. Room is decorated in a sleek modern Austrian style, with luxury appointments, gratis wine, beer and soft drinks replenished daily. Walk in shower and tub with heated towel rack. All this on top of an excellent bistro serving food throughout the day. Friendly and prompt service.

Location was good. Staff was excellent and very friendly. I was looking for another place to stay after a horrible experience at another hotel and the staff was friendly enough to show me - not everywhere is like this. No swimming pool or gym but the stay was comfortable enough. The room was very comfortable with everything you need and in the right place. The restaurant was also good with professional staff. You can order room service casually and it feels like home:) It saved my sanity from another horrid stay at another so called 5 star hotel in Vienna.

If I had to be critical, I saw some dust on some surfaces (e.g. TV stand, towel rack); the sink could be deeper; and the sink knobs could be less smooth (hard to turn with wet hands); but these are insignificant when the overall stay was so pleasant.

I have reviewed this for our later stay. We split our stay into 2 x 2 nights as we visited Budapest in between and the hotel kindly held our suitcases between stays making it so much easier to pop over to Budapest for a couple of days. Much appreciated. Again - the location is superb and the room wonderful. The view of the Opera from the window seats was beautiful. We felt immersed in Vienna. And even though we never booked breakfast in advance and the restaurant was busy, they always found space for us.

Location could not have been better. Travelled with a baby so had cot put into room, which made things a lot easier. All staff, especially in restaurant were excellent with accommodating our needs with the baby. The Deluxe Plus Room was the perfect size for the three of us.

Given the central location of this hotel (and all the lighting outside) it was disappointing that the curtains seem to have been broke so there were gaps in the curtains which let light into the room at night time. Also, the windows did not open as handle was broken. We were given breakfast vouchers to compensate for this, but really not ideal as it meant we had to sleep with the airconditioner on.

My double room was well appointed and quaint but fine for a solo traveler. You really can’t beat the location. It’s Nextdoor to two of the more famous cafes, pedestrian main shopping zone, Albertina, Spanish Riding School, and the Opera House. Staff at check-in and the lobby were great. There is a lively cafe below but no noise in the room and I was on floor 1. Overall, a pleasant quick stay and I thought good value based on the location alone. They also provided complimentary alcoholic beverages and bottled water which was a nice touch. I did not partake but a nice touch.

It’s more like a good boutique hotel rather than the 5-stars listed on the website as doesn’t really offer any amenities or have the number of service staff. Just a noticeable difference as I’ve been to the 5-stars next door.

Superb location. The view across the city from our 7th floor room was sensational. The room itself was spacious and very well furnished and equipped with a bean-grinding coffee machine, no less! There was a window seat so you can soak up even more of the view. Complimentary wine and soft drinks were replenished daily. We didn’t have breakfast included but the a la carte breakfast (served all day) was excellent value and very good quality. All the city landmarks were a short walk away.

Only a very minor thing but a kettle would have been useful for morning tea, rather than going down to the bar to get a pot of tea.

The room was a good size and very comfortable. There were electric outlets in convenient places, and everything was well thought out. My husband enjoyed the free bottles of wine. The hotel is within walking distance of bakeries, restaurants, and shopping.

Despite all the many positives, I would not stay there again because I hated the frosted glass shower door that allowed me to be seen from the bedroom. I like privacy when I shower. I'm not interested in trendy decor. This is a personal thing and shouldn't keep anyone away, as the bathroom was fine.

The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. When we arrived we did not know where to park or unload our luggage but the front receptionist was very helpful with explaining the process clearly and politely. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but we did enjoy a glass of wine and dessert later on in the evening. The dessert was very enjoyable from their sidewalk cafe and the staff, again, were very courteous and professional. We did have breakfast at the hotel before we left the next morning which was very good and served by a friendly, courteous and professional staff. We would highly recommend this hotel for their staff, the location and the value. The rooms were comfortable, the location was excellent and they even provide you with free wine, sodas and a hand written "welcome" note in your room upon arrival.

There is nothing that comes to mind that we did not like about this hotel

A well-appointed and well-maintained property located in a very central location. Very pleasant room. It is directly across to the Albertina Museum, with a (very) small park between property and museum. We stayed in room 201, which provided a bit more privacy as it was at the end of the hall and there is a little 'reading niche' in the window which was very comfy, and allowed view of park, museum and passer-byers. Nice mini-bar with some 'freebies - though would suggest that for those who do not consume alcohol, other free-bies should be offered in place. Nice coffee-shop on entrance level. Very friendly and professional staff: particularly would like to commend Gabi, Christoph and Willy. Would definitely consider staying here again if I were to return to Vienna.

Suggest they provide tea-kettle alongside (nice) coffee machine. Staff is more than willing to bring up hot water, but it does not stay hot and it is a bit of a bother. Also, when other doors close on floor, one clearly hears them. It was a bit annoying. Suggest putting mechanism on door to have it cosed more slowly. But, overall - very nice stay.

We had a great 1 night stay at The Guesthouse Vienna. Central location yet in a quiet area, letting you have a good night's sleep. The rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable, with a cutest nook overseeing beautiful Vienna. Mikhail at the reception shared all the necessary details to have a good stay, and shared recommendations of restaurants in the area. We had a small health scare during the evening and the hotel staff were incredibly kind and supportive, bringing me bread & ginger tea, and getting us a cab to a hospital - thank you for that! We also had breakfast in the morning at the Brasserie which was really enjoyable. I would recommend booking ahead of time at the restaurant for dinner or breakfast as they are open to guests outside the hotel and it gets full fast. Highly recommend and would be back again.

The only downside is that there is no lobby (only the restaurant) at the ground floor.
