Breakfast was excellent, friendly staff and nicely presented food. Unfortunately there was building work going on and while this wasn’t much of an issue, my daughters were a bit startled by a workman on the scaffolding outside our bedroom window. Overall the staff were extremely helpful and we would definitely return. Our return train home was cancelled and we were forced to stay another night. The reception staff bent over backwards to help us and a room was prepared. This turned out to be a beautiful room with a lovely view over the city.

Apart from a sticky bathroom door in our first room 521 everything was fine.

The location is brilliant. The staff are amazing, polite, and helpful. Breakfast has plenty to choose from, and it's clean.

The fact that work is still being done to the building and inside the hotel made it feel a bit claustrophobic and took away that feeling when you walk in to a Hilton. We booked 4 nights, Deluxe Double Room with Two Double Beds but the room we were given had like a mini corridor which took away from the space as a result we found a bit too crowded for us ( 2 adults, 17 year old and 7 year old) 3 large suitcases and 2 carry on trolleys. My sister booked the same, but their room was without this mini corridor and much bigger. I didn't take photos as the room after the first night was messy, and the building had scaffolding outside, inside they have gypsum board covering the work areas.

Lovely clean room. Perfect location. Breakfast was amazing with so much choice. Can see why it's 27pp. Staff friendly, miss the xmas tree by the large staircase because of renovation, but understand things need to be done.

Lifts were a nightmare as one was out for maintenance, so sometimes waiting 10 minutes as staff were having to use both lifts too for towel trolleys, etc. Toilets by restaurant were disgusting, I went in just before we checked out, and bins were overflowing with Tissues, no toilet roll in one, and the other had a soaking wet toilet roll on the floor. Obviously, toilets are not checked regularly as they were in a bit of a state. Not what you would expect from a Hilton hotel. Even if they are undergoing a renovation.

Very conveniently located just off on the Royal Mile / old town and only a short walk to the newer town. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel is large so just be prepared it could be a little walk to the room. Our room was not ready until after check in time (they were fully booked) but the staff were lovely and helpful, they collected, sorted our bags and took them to the room when it was ready and we just wondered the town.

Our room was facing the Royal Mile and the windows are not double glazed so it was a bit loud. But it can be expected when you stay in a heavily tourist area. We could also hear the people in the room next to us.

Renovation work still in progress but did not affect our 2 night stay We upgraded to a king deluxe and was not disappointed room very spacious and big Bathroom was a good size too but bath quite small. Kingsize bed comfortable but pillows too soft. Breakfast service was excellent and plenty of choice on buffet breakfast. Brilliant location from train station and to Grassmarket. Would definitely stay again when visiting Edinburgh.

Very welcoming stuff and the location of the hotel is the best it’s 0.3 mile from waverley train station , I really like the breakfast specifically if you order omelette, very good experience .

The only thing that may not be a problem that hotel is on Restoration and maintenance , scaffolding is front the entrance and in addition as well as the front street they are working on it , but it not a big deal at all our room it was front the street and it’s so quiet

The location was excellent, a quick walk from the train station and close to the royal mile. The room was spacious for a family of 4. Very comfortable bed. We didn’t have time to stay for breakfast as we had to catch an early train. We walked 10 miles throughout the day so it was lovely to get back to a lovely comfortable room with a hot shower.

The only downside was it was hard to find as there was scaffolding outside the hotel but this didn’t affect our stay once we found the hotel.

Breakfast was brilliant, good spread of fruits, yoghurt, pastries and hot food. Rooms are huge and beds are comfy. Though designs may seem a little dated. Location is perfect to walk around the old town of edinburgh and close to the train station.

The toilets were designed to be accessible for elderly, has all the proper equipments but does not account for the splashing of waters from shower. So it can get quite wet after 1 shower from 1 person.

As always the hotel is lovely and is maintained to a high standard. In addition all the staff are always welcoming and very helpful,.

Apparently the bar is getting moved and therefore there was nothing on draught? This is a big deal for us personally as the only alcoholic beverages we drink are draught lagers and Guinness. I also got the impression that moving the bar is quite a big deal - surely though for such a large hotel it must be possible to move the bar without upset to the continuous running and provision of a "full " bar service. Nevertheless we'll see you again next year. All the best for 2024.
