Lovely hotel in a perfect location on a quiet pedestrian street. 5 minutes walk from the bus station and 10 minutes from the harbour. 2 minutes walk to the Central Market. Great room with a balcony - everything perfectly proportioned in the room. Plenty of places to eat/drink nearby. Very nice atmosphere in hotel - staff extremely helpful and friendly.
Nothing.

We’ve stayed here before and chose to come back to this hotel. Decent value for money. Great central location. Comfortable, quirky room. Our daughter loved the bed chair. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.
Nothing much to dislike, the over bath shower was a little awkward to control but that’s it.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely old building, fab decor, very friendly & helpful staff. Quiet at night (our room was at the back of the hotel) Short walk to the centre / marina & very close to Place de Verdun bus stops.
No air con (we weren’t expecting it) but had a fan in the room which was great on a hot night

Good value for money hotel ideally located a short walk from the harbour. Have stayed here previously and as always the staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but clean and serviced daily.
Room we stayed in needed more electric sockets as we couldn't charge multiple devices at the same time with the UK adaptors, a must in modern times. Breakfast a bit basic , would be nice to have had the option of a toaster and a better choice of breads , croissants etc.

Nice central location. Had a family room for four, of which there are not many available in La Rochelle. Room was a bit cramped with a double bed and pull out sofa bed, but that is pretty standard for 4 in a room. Nice rustic room with stone wall and sanded wooden floors, all clean and neat. Didn't take up the offer of breakfast as we wanted to eat with some friends. The access to the hotel after hours was good - although we weren't to late. The hotel were happy for us to put our luggage in a back room for an hour before we got our bus. The Saturday market was setting up outside the window from quite early, but didn't disturb us. Lovely to have fresh fruit on the doorstep.

Great location. Underground parking nearby. Lovely quirky old building. The spiral staircase is amazing and has 72 steps to our top floor room. Communication from the hotel, prior to arrival was excellent. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious.
Didn’t like, is a bit too strong. If I’m being picky I found the room decor varies greatly from room to room. I’m not a fan of brown. I much prefer the blue bedding used in some photos. I found that trying to keep my hair dry in the shower was a challenge as it had a fixed head.

The hotel is in the old town - pretty as a picture. The market outside changed daily and gave a real interest to the outlook. Being in the old town we were so close to everything it's a perfect hotel for a city break. La Rochelle is a beautiful city to explore or just sit and watch others explore! The hotel itself is old and decorated in style so creates ambience. The rooms were great especially being able to sit outside on the roof overlooking the street on a warm early summer evening. Breakfast - continental buffet style - was full of home made goodies and so good that you could sit there sampling until lunchtime! Wouldn't be complete without a word for the staff - unfussy but welcoming, humoured my poor French and really made us feel at home.
There isn't a bar on site, but with a Carrefour around the corner, that wasn't such a big deal.

Very nice old style hotel with lots of character, room fine a bit small on the top floor, air conditioning which was needed. Lovely staff, amazing breakfast selection and fabulous location.
No lift so not suitable for unfit or disabled guests, long climb up a beautiful staircase with skylight at top. Shower water pressure is very low in room 26.

The location of the hotel is good - there are a lot of restaurants on the street , also a nice supermarket and local market are nearby and almost all attractions are easily reached by foot from here. The breakfast is amazing here - defenetly, it was most rich on choices among all breakfasts from my current trip to the France.
My room was ok for two nights stay, but it is not very functional for longer staying, for example, more power sockets would be appreciated.

Funky old hotel with eccentric modern touches. Just the total opposite of a chain hotel. Wrought iron staircase, sense of history, ideal location: close to the centre, but not so close as to be overwhelmed by crowds.
Having to get up to catch a train home 😟
