The hotel is located in a pretty French village. It looked perfect from the outside, and as I was to find out, perfect inside. We were the only guests. The chef, a very pleasant gentleman, provided a wonderful veggie meal. The receptionists were truly nice people. The bed was so comfortable.

I've never paid as much for a hotel as here. But I did have a dog with me. No regrets it was a pleasure to experience such luxury.

Very friendly hotel with good facilities in the room. definite choice for a stopover driving from UK through France. nice walk along the lake path and although the restaurant was closed the bistro served a lovely meal.

Bar had no wine available for aperitif but the owner very kindly helped us by making an exception. TV didn't come on but we didn't miss it, reception was closed to ask but we weren't bothered anyway.

An excellent find. We are always on the lookout for good stopover places close to the Autoroute when on our way down to the Alps, and Auberge du Lac is somewhere we will definitely use again. Private parking is essential for us when we have bikes on the back of the car, and this hotel provides exactly that......plus lovely large rooms with A/C (and a spa bath in our case!), friendly helpful staff, a spa and pool if you are that way inclined, and a nearby large lake (reservoir) to walk around - nice after sitting in the car for a few hours. A choice of two restaurants too: an expensive gourmet restaurant at the hotel itself, and a cheaper brasserie across the road (also owned by the hotel). Highly recommended!

Breakfast is charged extra (14 euros), which wasn't great value for money considering the range on offer - but to be fair, this was a similar price to other hotels we stayed in on our trip.

The Maison Gublin is a real find. People we met there stay every time they travel through France and from now on we expect to do the same. Tucked away in a mediaeval village, it is like the tardis - about 20 bedrooms (ours was absolutely lovely, with large bed and ancient beamed ceiling), a lovely, spacious yet intimate dining room, a large garden with heated pool, 20+ sunbeds, bistro tables and chairs for breakfast and morning coffee, a spa with huge spa pool... One night isn't enough. All the staff were so welcoming and helpful, and the professionalism of the restaurant staff made us wish that all restaurant staff in the UK were trained in France. And the food and wine list are absolutely outstanding. Just hope it doesn't become so popular that we struggle to get a booking.

Absolutely nothing. Nothing at all.

The room was lovely and so was the food.

Our room was in another building down the road. It wasn't far but it was raining and very windy so had to drive. The restaurant in the main hotel is rather expensive and not much of a selection for kids. The restaurant in the building we were has more of a selection and was affordable, but it doesn't open on Tuesdays, which is when we were there.

The hotel is situated around 800m from the lake in the "centre" of the village. The rooms were very clean and the air con worked well (crucial this summer). I particularly appreciated the availability of dressing gowns and the welcome sweets. We ate in the brasserie over the road which belongs in one or another way to the hotel and we were served very quickly (see negative experiences in the comments). The food was correct.

The rooms are small as are the SPA and the pool. Some of the rooms are on the ground floor and the windows open onto the main street through the village. It is not a busy road at night at all, but passersby can obviously look into your room. We came in the busiest period of the year and the cleaners had to start their work at 8.30 am so that we were woken up by a hoover. Gave us more time on the beach. :)

Comfortable hotel with a spa. The restaurant food is the main reason for visiting.

Check-in chaotic. Our online reservation had not been noticed and family room let to another family. In the end, after some messing about, we were given 2 rooms.

Very helpful and friendly staff. We had a lovely room, enough space for us and our dog. Bed very comfortable. Air conditioning which was very welcome as the temperatures were in the high 20s. Breakfast was very good, home smoked salmon, delicious prunes in syrup plus meats, cheese, pastries etc. Nice garden area which included a swimming pool. Everywhere spotlessly clean. We didn't manage to eat in the restaurant unfortunately but ate in the Brasserie just across the road. Food was excellent.

Nice hotel but could be better

Bathroom could do with a proper modern shower. The hairdryer was old and didn’t work. Rooms a bit small for the price the food in the restaurant was ok but could do with more staff. Didn’t like the menu being on the computer.
