While the gates and doors are automated (using their website), they still have a reception counter where you can ask for assistance. We have a person with mobility issues as well as many luggages, luckily there is level access all the way from the entrance, to the elevator, and to the room. Water and hot drinks like coffee or tea are unlimited at a certain time period until 9pm. Decent breakfast is available. Plenty of food options a short walk away, also near tram stop and historical sites.

There is no flexible option to have early check in or late checkout due to the app/web access unlocking only after the check-in period. Situated in a narrow street, parking might be near impossible. Always bring a fully charged phone with you so you dont get locked out!

Overall, the place was nice. We made a last-minute booking due to a canceled bus and the need for an overnight stay. The automatic check-in process was very convenient. The only drawback is that check-in outside of desk hours requires internet access. Fortunately, we had internet, so it wasn't an issue for us. The room was more than basic, designed well, and felt new and clean. A complimentary bottle of water was a small touch that made the differece. We decided to try the breakfast, and it was excellent. Additionally, the lobby and dining room were beautifully designed.

It would have been much better if there was an electric kattel with tea and coffee. Also as I mentioned, having an online check-in after 22:00 can be a problem as it requires an intertnet connection outside of the hotel.

STAFF: I would like to highly commend AILEEN and ABDEL. They were exceptional. 5-stars to their customer service and hospitality. AILEEN was the one who welcomed me during my evening arrival at the hotel, she was very much responsive with all my queries and requests during my stay, she would respond to your messages in a heartbeat. ABDEL very much a responsive and professional caretaker of each customers coming the hotel's way. He assisted me right away when I had to extend my stay for another day and helped me with ways on how to commute going to the airport just to save few euros from my end, which was indeed a practical way. Kudos to this team! AMBIENCE: was well done! The place went beyond my expectation. The wall paint of this place were just calming to the eye. From the hotel's lobby with the nicely done interior, up to the rooms which perfectly suits me and my suitcase. LOCATION: PERFECT, just right to go through my plotted places to see around Berlin. Train stations, restaurants, marketplace, museums, gastropubs are just a walk away! ROOM: I had the solo room, and it was well maintained, if you are not used to the no aircon set up, you can request for additional fan (upon availability) though a fan has been provided prior. The no aircon post in this place is because of it being a monumental area. They do daily housekeeping into your rooms, if this is not up to your liking, you can hang the 'no housekeeping needed' tag on your door. Note: there are no electric tea kettle in the room. They do have free tea/coffee hours from 1pm - 9pm (you can stop by the hotel's restaurant area to grab yourself a cup!) BREAKFAST: the food was amazing, just the basic egg, sausage, breads, hot beverages, cereals, oats, fruits on the counter, but, the vibe in this place is homey. Price was reasonable.

Great Location, easy walking distance to all tourist spots and transport links. Rooms were small but perfect for our needs. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and the free tea and coffee available all day was a great bonus as it allowed us to sit and regroup during the day between sightseeing.

Nothing could have been better. We did request rooms close together and unfortunately this wasnt available but the staff apologised and it did not affect our enjoyment of the holiday.

The location is really central with all the comforts around. The room was very nice and always tidied up with towels changes. For the breakfast I have never tried. It was too expensive for me but I have really appreciated the free coffe and Thea from 11AM to 9PM.

The breakfast was too expensive, at least for me, and there were no other options in terms of costs. The room service was good but also a bit expensive especially for long stay like mine (16 days). I would have really appreciated a little fridge in my room or some kitchen appliances always available like a microwave.

location is great; breakfast was super and mini restaurant cute. Staff very helpful. we had XS room and is realllllly small (both of us are not big size but was really small). XS is definitely for 1 person.

I did not like communication and self check in. in the beginning booking.com base was hacked and was receiving messages via whatsap...then got info from hotel that the data was hacked. and then hotel is sending link to click for check in before because is mandatory - obviously did not as I did not want to BE hacked myself....I think this self check in option should be changed as this is not safe and people not trust messages where you need to click on link....

The room was very nice and clean, the breakfast was perfect and the coffee was delicious. The girl at the reception was very helpful and kind.

Earlier in the day we had our luggage held. No issues initially. When we returned that evening the guy with glasses at the reception tried to be funny and pretend that our luggage wasn’t there and gave us extra unnecessary stress. He dragged out his joke and wouldn’t let us know where the luggage was. I had an important meeting online and needed the luggage, his actions were not helpful and rude.

Local to a lot of landmarks like checkpoint charley, the brandenburg gate ect. The local cuisine is high quality, and the cocktails are right up there. Beautiful city and the perfect location to experience it. The hotel was very clean, staff were so friendly and helpful. We didn't have breakfast on this occasion as we wanted to go out and visit some of the local bakeries and restaurants.

I really liked the great breakfast with a huge offer of delicious food, the hotel provided a coffee and tea flatrate until 9pm, it is a very good location within the city. will definetely book again :)

for me personally, i would have preferred a key or key card instead of using my smartphone. also, as not for all entrances the key legitimation was provided, sometimes distances between room, reception, entrance etc were longer than it would have been necessary (or i did not get it :) ) room xs is very small, which is absolutely ok if you travel alone or dont spend a lot time there

Calma is a nicely maintained hotel in a quiet enclave off the main street, so it stays quiet despite being accessible to transit, restaurants and sights. The room was bigger than I expected and I could even lay put my yoga matt at the foot of the bed (we booked an S room). Staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay quite enjoyable.

It would be nice to have a kettle or coffee machine in the room, although the hotel does offer complimentary coffee / tea in the restaurant area after 11am, which was quite nice.
