Just about everything! Please don't get discouraged when you reach the entrance of the building as it isn't the usual look of an entry to a hotel. Mikon is lodged in one of Berlin's commercial/residential buildings not far from the central train station. It occupies 2 of its floors. Once you get to the 5th floor where the reception is located, only then will your impression change... 😊 Our room was very clean, of good size, big bathroom, comfortable bed, free Wi-Fi and the breakfast was delicious! There's a lovely balcony lined with colorful flowers (such a delight for the eyes!) where you can opt to take your breakfast while admiring the view of Berlin's skyline. The owner was so gracious to allow me to leave my heavy suitcase at their storage room for 2 days while we explore Potsdam. Honestly, I would have preferred to lengthen our stay for another 2 nights but they're fully booked. I will certainly return to Mikon again!!! 👍👍👍

Nothing actually, though it would have been better if a minibar is made available, also water kettle along with some complimentary coffee and tea.

The staff was very nice and throughout the property one could see how much thought they put into making the best of this property. The breakfast had a huge variety of options , rather unexpected for a hotel of this level. I felt like they were really trying be as hospitalble as possible with their means. You really get good value for your money. Great location as well, very close to major public transport, 10 minute walk to the next bar/restaurant neighbourhood, supermarket and drug store around the corner

The mattress has probably seen better days but for this price it was absolutely okay.

The staff was really nice, they helped us with all our questions and even kept our lugage for us after we checked out, so we didn't have to carry it around for the whole day. We ate breakfast there as well, was very tasty and there was enough choice. Something could be found for everyone. The view from the terace was incredible. It's a shame we couldn't use because it was too cold.

The room was extremely cold when we just arrived, so then we turned on the heating and had to wait for a couple of hours to become warm enough. Maybe next time the room could be heated a bit before, but everything else was great!

Hotel was in a good location and the rooms were freshly renovated. Near public transportation and good places to eat/supermarket.

The building is in construction so when you come in, it might look a little like a horror movie but once you get to the hotel floor it looks very nice. The receptionist was not very friendly and she looked annoyed, didn’t even bother in giving good directions on how to get to the rooms (which were in different floors). We also had a toddler with us, and a stroller, didn’t even mention that for one of the rooms you had to go up some stairs.

It was in a good location, we walked to all the major sites. Some lovely food places within 10 mins walk too. Breakfast was nice. Not a massive choice but always fresh and the terrace was beautiful.

Rooms were fine, a bit dated but we were barely in them. It was very warm though even with the window open but there was a large fan in the room already! The window was really high up, there was a lovely view but I had to stand on a chair to see it lol

Staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was ample and delicious. The room was spartan but clean and well-maintained.

Our room overlooked a street, which was used by ambulances going to and from a nearby hospital. These would turn on their sirens as they neared an intersection near the hotel. I think we would have had a MUCH better experience if our room had faced the interior courtyard rather than the street.

It is a very 'quirky' location. Close to the city centre (15 minutes walk from museum island, or by metro which was 2 minutes from the hotel), an old apartment(s) that had been converted into a hotel on the two top levels of the building. The terrace was on the top floor and looks out over the city rooftops - warm enough for breakfast outside in the morning. The breakfast was good and the staff were generally helpful and able to speak English and German. The district has many restaurants and bars with good menus and a nice selection of local beers.

The bed was rather uncomfortable - with a big 'dip' in the middle and rather old springs. At some point the lift wasn't working, but was quickly fixed. For the rest it was fine.

Entrance was not very attractive but the hotel, which is on the 5th floor was delightful. Rooms Wes quite spacious, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent served in a small bright room which opened on to a small terrace. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

Just the entrance which does look as though it is being decorated to improve its appearance.

The breakfast each morning was excellent and was included in my room price, the hotel is in a great location, very close to the Hauptbahnhof, an U-Bahn station, a tram stop, and Friedriechstrasse station is nearby. TV has all the channels and is a big modern flatscreen model. The hotel is on the top floors of an apartment house and is very quiet. Room was cleaned each day. In room bath was spotless. Some other reviewers fault the hotel for this location, but they don't appreciate what Mikon Eastgate offers for a very reasonable price.

The young lady the evening I arrived was not particularly friendly. All the other staff was super nice. The front desk does not have 24 hour staffing, but I worked around that when I had to catch an early morning train the morning I left.
