Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Hairdyer and mini-fridge included. The location was perfect with easy access to Monastiraki, Plaka, Syntagma. and the Acropolis. Our view of the Acropolis was amazing, but not all rooms have this view. Communication about check-in and check-out, airport transfers, etc. were all very good, utilizing Whatsapp.

Although, this shouldn't turn potential travelers away, be prepared for stairs and a small elevator. It's just the nature of buildings in the city. Also, there isn't a classic hotel lobby with a person getting you at the desk. They utlitize keypads and proximity cards to open doors. Again, it shouldn't affect your stay - just so you know.

Altar suites is very central within easy walking distance of 2 metro stations, Monastiraki markets, the Acropolis and the main tour bus stop. My room and bed were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Although very lively outside in the evenings the rooms are well insulated from the noise and I slept well. The hosts (Chris, Sabrina and Notis) are very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended.

The Acropolis view from the balconies is unobstructed (and stunning) but the lower floor balconies are very close to the roof bar next door. For more privacy on the balcony it's best to book a room on the upper 2 floors.

Property was perfect but I feel that booking.com provided the wrong option. I booked the hotel but when on site I realised that there were only few rooms that faced the road and all the rest were facing the Acropolis. Thanks to Chris perfect welcome and assistance throughout it saved the stay. It’s the second time I face this situation with booking.com. I book based on recommendations then realised the hotel/s provide enhanced rooms after completing the initial booking.

Perfect location and close to all the facilities and attractions. The staff and management are the cherry on the cake, well organised and they really care about guest relationship.

I started my Greek holiday at Altar and had such a wonderful experience that I made sure I stayed there when I made my way back to Athens at the end of my trip. Staff were so helpful each time and went out of their way to help with the little things like ordering taxis that were there before the stated time. Rooms are beautifully appointed and everything works (can’t say that about all my accommodation on this trip). Location makes finding food and shopping easy with no need to use transport but the knockout offering was the view. It was hard to say goodbye but I’ll definitely be back at Altar

We loved the location which is in the heart and which is walkable within 10-15mins of Acropolis and various other historical sites. It is also right in the heart of old town with many fabulous restaurants and shops just downstairs. We had balcony room overlooking Acropolis and the room was big. The room was also stocked with drinking water daily. The individual shower room is huge and separated from the toilet.

It was a Saturday night we checked in and the nightclub just next to the hotel was playing very loud dancing music till 3am and we were not able to sleep. Sunday and Monday nights were quieter after 11pm. The pillows were also a bit too soft and Altar could have provided 2 sets of pillows with different firmness.

Astonishing location; penthouse has an exceptional view of the Acropolis and the temple of Hephaistos. Enormous terrace, a bit at the expense of interior space. But the view alone is worth the stay, and the place is very comfortable, with a separate bedroom, small sitting area and nice bathroom (no kitchen facilities). Very nice and helpful staff, present in the building, smooth check in, good communications. Building is situated on the edge of the touristic center, so bustling streets until late at night, but no street noise in the apartment.

Door connecting the apartment to the stairwell below doesn't keep all the noise out. Be aware that there are bars on rooftops in the vicinity (not next to the building), that play music.

Sensational hotel! What a pleasure to know that you can check in and not have any worries for the duration of your stay. Perfect location, just a quick walk from Monastiraki station down from the Flea Markets. Amazing view. WOW. What an insane moment walking out and looking at the Parthenon right from your balcony. We booked the room with the view, but it was worth it. Shower and amenities were very comfortable. Definitely more of a couples room as you get to have some very amusing eye contact while one showers. Bed was very comfortable, aircon worked like a charm. After hitting some gyros and souvlaki platters you start preferring the lift as opposed to the stairs.

The property was conveniently located in the middle of the Athens shopping district. Very walkable. Tons of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. The balcony views were great, can sit outside and people watch with the view of the Acropolis in front of you. The staff were VERY friendly and helpful, highly recommend! It does get loud at night bc the bars and restaurants are directly underneath you, but we didn’t mind at all. Great vibes overall! Pics posted are the views from balcony!

Absolutely nothing! Everything was perfect!

The absolute most amazing view and location. Literally touching ruins this hotel has an amazing 360 degree view on the whole of Athens, We stayed in 2 rooms the penthouse and a double room. Both had the best view of the acropolis and the greater ruins complex. The lift was great, the fridge was cold and the air-conditioning was strong. We went to the ruins next door to look at the temple and there was a tortoise just walking around! We also went up the streets next door which are a bit of a bazaar style with many fun stores, the kids made their own necklaces.

we loved the spaciousness of the room and the facilities within the room were great. Its location was perfectly situated to the main sights of Athens that we were interested in and the terrace with its spectacular views of the Acropolis were perfect

After going to great lengths to prebook a car park through the hotel , upon arrival the car park attendant told us it was 'full'. This was disappointing given my car details were sent ahead of time and I was assured that everything was in order. Luckily I found an alternative car park that was a) closer to the hotel and b) undercover and secure. The alternative was much better than the open air, very tightly packed parking associated with the hotel
