The place is an old-school bed and breakfast, with great, comfortable rooms, a beautiful and welcoming common area and wonderful, helpful and super-nice hosts ready to make your stay great. This is such a relief that even though we are living in the aera of soulless, aseptic, Ikea-furnished AirBnBs, where you contact your host only by text, there still are great places like this: beautiful, comfortable, full of character and operated by real, hospitable people. Thank you for amazing, unforgettable week!

This is not a criticism! There is no air condition in this historical building. And yes, we were a bit concerned checking in. But we quickly discovered the room, facing lush greenery at the city walls, is very cool and pleasant even when it is ridiculously hot in the city. Do not worry about the lack of AC in the slightest! Celebrate the conservation of electricity and nature's ability to cool you down.

What a unique and charming property! It was very clear the owners pour their love and soul to the place. It's curated to a specific Italian style with charm and class. Both the owners were exceptionally accommodating and very gracious hosts. Every morning, we were served a to-order breakfast. It is truly a must experience. It's also centrally located in the urban heart of Siena, and our room had an exceptional view of the Tuscan landscape. Our room was cozy with an updated bathroom and very lovely and comfortable common room.

Our bed was a little hard for our tastes. Also, I would enjoy an oscillating fan for a room without air conditioning.

This elegant B&B is located in a good position within a grand house, minutes away from the major sites such as the Campo and Duomo and shopping areas. Our large room had an open view across the city walls to the Siena countryside - plenty of greenery and birds singing. The room was large and comfortable and the public rooms furnished with grandeur. Breakfast was to order, with a good selection including eggs and fresh coffee. You can also make your own tea throughout the day. Valentina was especially very welcoming and engaging, and was happy to recommend local restaurants. There are plenty of other cafes, bars and restaurants nearby giving a wide choice. The train station is about a 10-15 minute taxi ride away. This B&B is highly recommended - and we’d be very happy to stay again.

The location is great, easy to find, easy to reach and only a few minutes walk away from the city center. We really enjoyed the privacy instead of a bigger hotel. The breakfast service was incredible for a private house and so nice with the beautiful garden view. We had our marriage during the stay and Valentina did everything to make our stay unforgettable. The two ladies even decorated our room. We had some minor issues with something in the bathrom not working properly - they were fixed immediately, we have never experienced that in any other hotel. Whenever we will returen to Siena La Dimora will be our choice.

The WIFi is a little bit weak but nothing to worry about.

What a wonderful B&B! It is run by Duccio and Cinzio, who are both lovely and could not do enough for us. The B&B itself is in a fairly central position, with a few small shops and bars/restaurants along the road outside, but once inside it is very quiet with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. It was furnished with antiques throughout, which helped to illustrate it's quaint, old-world charm. Our room had a fantastic view and the bed was very comfy, so we slept really well. Breakfast was a delicous feast, with pastries, really fresh fruit, ham, cheese, eggs, the choice was endless and everything was beautifully served. We will definately return if we are in Siena again.

We could not fault anything.

As other reviewers have said, this is a hidden gem! Right in the centre of Siena, wonderful room, fantastic shared space and a fabulous breakfast. Not only that, we stayed on the rainiest day that Siena had seen for twenty years (apparently!) and Valentina spent an hour trying to get a taxi for us and the other guests. She was incredibly helpful and professional. It's a privilege to stay somewhere so beautiful, we will definitely return.

Nothing, it all exceeded our expectations.

A beautiful, peaceful stay in the perfect location. Our hosts were warm and welcoming, breakfast was delicious. The room was clean, light and spacious, with a fabulous view out across the city walls and into the landscape beyond. The room was very quiet and very relaxing, yet La Dimora di Monaci is in a buzzing street with lots of fantastic bars and restaurants. We spent four days wandering around beautiful Siena and drinking Aperol Spritz, before returning to our lovely room. A fantastic place.

I loved staying in this B&B! The room, the breakfast, and the service all exceeded my expectations. The room was tastefully decorated with antiques and very well equipped. It seemed much more spacious than had appeared in photos on booking.com, and had shuttered windows looking out over the beautiful Tuscan countryside. The location is very central, just a short walk from the always-amazing Piazza Grande. Via Pantaneto is relatively quiet during the days, but comes to life at night due to the proximity to the university. The room itself was very quiet. Cinzia and Duccio were the perfect hosts, and Cinzia's breakfasts were superb. I had to call them late one night as I had an urgent situation in the room. Cinzia came to my assistance very promptly, and appeared not to be at all put out by my late call for assistance.

We felt that this bed and breakfast encompassed the history and charm of Siena. It was so interesting and delightful to stay in a residence that was furnished and decorated in a way that makes you feel you are living in a former century (but with Wi-Fi!). Duccio, Cinci, and Valentina went out of their way to provide a wonderful breakfast and helpful information.

This place is a gem. It is located near the central plaza with many shops and restaurants. All city attractions were in walking distance. Also, it is a beautiful place: A nice old building and beautifully decorated. Upon our arrival, they gave us the list of items we wanted to have for breakfast and the time. The breakfast included fresh fruits, bread, coffee, cheeses, yogurt, etc. Our room was clean and comfortable. The owner was very responsive. Even brought an iron and wine opener to our room.
