If within budget, book a room with a view of Napoli and Mt. Vesuvius, absolutely breath-taking!! Lovely staff, helping throughout our stay. There is a shuttle bus leaving about every hour to take you to town - very convenient!

Amazing panoramic views from room (superior sea view), piano bar, rooftop terrace and restaurant.. Room was spotless, comfortable, spacious, nice bathroom amd shower and balcony with stunning view of sorrento and vesuvius. Lunchtime food in pool snack bar was excellent and menu for evening meal looked lovely although we didnt have the opportunity to eat there. The hourly free shuttle bus to and from the town was excellent, punctual and a godsend considering the hotel is located high up on a cliff overlooking sorrento with a winding road which would be too dangerous to walk and a taxi is €30 one way!. Breakfast choice was vast and liked the egg bar for fresh omelettes, poached, boiled and fried. Hotel staff friendly. courteous and helpful. Food and drink very reasonably priced for a 4 star hotel

Wasps outside on restaurant terrace.very annoying! - suggest some citronella or other deterrent. Scrambled eggs at breakfast were cold every morning. Entertainment was poor with the exception of the Fri night pianist. You need to ask reception to turn on air conditioning from their control panel otherwise it doesnt work. This is not clear when you check in nor mentioned in the literature provided. Nothing to do with the hotel but we have to mention the appaling service, unfriendly and extortionate pricing taxis are charging in Naples and Sorrento. This reputation is extremely detremental to your tourism trade and was a common complaint through discussion with many other holiday makers during our visit.

The view was amazing and the property was always clean. Staff were fantastic and so friendly and food was excellent. Lovely facilities and pool etc not too busy which was nice. Really lovely place

The shuttle service to Sorrento. This is absolutely required and the service itself is great (as are the drivers) but the bus is too small and regularly people left behind. You had to start queueing for pick up and drop off at least 20 mins before leaving which eats into your time in the town. Either needs a bigger bus or run it every 30 mins rather than hourly

The hotel is perched high on a cliff from where one has unsurpassed views over Sorrento, the bay of Naples and the Vesuv. The hotel has a nice swimming pool and sun beds.The hotel’s restaurant has an excellent choice of dishes and menus and also has a good wine list. Luigi, the ‘maitre’ of the restaurant, but also all of his colleagues were outstandingly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Since there is not much around the hotel offers a free shuttle service which runs about once a hour from morning to after dinner time, so that it is easy to connect to downtown Sorrento.

The facilities and much of the hotel have seen better days and it shows its age with many scuff marks etc and in some respect various parts of the hotel need more than a paint job. There were no slippers or disposable make up paper tissues in the room. In the end considering the price one pays is for the outstanding view and also the friendly staff and also the good and comfortable in-house restaurant

Property is gorgeous but it is not in town. There is a hotel shuttle that runs every hour and takes you about 5 min walk to center, so you can’t just pop out to stroll around. The trade off is the view. It’s spectacular, it really takes your breath away. The pool is very nice but it closes at 7, I think because they have diners staying to seat at the restaurant which overlooks the pool. The breakfast was amazing and top notch, and it was included for us. Beautiful bar, the staff at the bar seemed a teeny bit put off but all other staff was incredible. Housekeeping especially. We ate dinner once and the food was delicious. We sat at 9 and we were one of the last people to eat, so it shuts down pretty early. We did order room service the first night and it was great, and very quick. They upgraded up to a better room with a jacuzzi which was nice. Our kids thought it was amazing.

The distance to town. There is a path that takes you right into town in about 15 minutes, all downhill. But coming up would be a challenge. I did it the last day for exercise. The other thing is the food service is limited. One restaurant inside and I think you can order stuff at the pool during pool hours but I didn’t see a food menu, only a menu for drinks. Nonetheless it was a different experience than our other stops in Italy and we had a fantastic time.

We can thoroughly recommend a stay at Grand Hotel President. The staff was fantastic and the breakfast was fabolous. It is nereby impossible to walk in the surroundings due to narrow roads and lively traffic. However there is a shuttlebus for the cetral part of Sorrento back and forth every hour so this isolation is not to be regarded as a problem. When reaching the hotel after spending a few hours in central Sorrento it felt fantastic to get to this beautiful facility. If you live in the central part you miss out on the most spectacular thing about Sorrento, the helicopterview over this magnificent city. It´s almost surreal to behold the breathtaking sceneries when you stand on the balcony facing the town and the Mediterranean. For this reason we recommend you upgrade to a room facing the city, you will not be sorry. We will return.

The beds were very hard. That is the only negative thing we can think of.

The view, the balcony, the pool, shuttle bus, the staff were amazing, the room facilities, the bathroom, great efforts put into recycling. The menu and food at the poolside bar and restaurant was fantastic. Also, it was my wife's birthday during our stay and you took the trouble to provide a celebratory bottle of prosecco - this was very thoughtful and unexpected. We would especially like to thank Raphael and the front desk staff who were so helpful, together with the lovely lady who serviced our room so beautifully every day (we never learned her name)

If we had breakfast later during the morning, food choices were somewhat limited. The bed covering was rather "synthetic/plastic". We would have preferred natural fibre. A/C lacked individual temperature control.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel President. The hotel has a really old charm about it with beautiful marble floors, beautiful antique furnishings and art work, well kept gardens and amazing views across the Bay of Naples. What made our holiday so special however were the staff who were all incredible - charming, helpful, friendly - a credit to the management of this establishment.

The hotel had an amazing location and the view was incredible ! The swimming pool was a bonus and despite being cold , it was a treat in October if you come from a cold country ! The staff at the restaurant was incredibly helpful and friendly . The food was really nice ( we had lunch and dinner once) and the breakfast was replaced even for the late arrivals ! Maria Grazia, the lady who greater us every morning before making our room was the highlight of our stay! She spent a good few minutes every morning talking to the kids and asking how we were … an absolutely delightful personally and she brightened our mornings !!! The room was always spotless on our return - thanks Maria Grazia !!! Be aware that the free shuttle bus from the hotel to town stops between 1230pm and 330pm which means you need to have lunch at the hotel … the town stops during this hours anyway but you can still find nice coffee shops to eat if you don’t want a fancy lunch at the hotel. The town comes alive after 5pm and it’s totally worth it using the buses to experience the town at night ! Overall it was a very pleasant stay. Kids enjoyed the games room- pool table and table tennis . The gentleman at the reception desk was incredibly helpful but some other staff was quite unapproachable and we felt uncomfortable sometimes to ask questions as it seemed like we were importuning them too much. I recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay there again .

The room and The views were absolutely stunning, the views will stay in my mind forever . The Breakfast was fabulous such a wonderful choice something for everyone. And the restaurant staff are absolutely lovely. Luigi and his staff are so friendly and so accommodating. From arrival the staff were so kinda and helpful nothing is a trouble to any of the staff in every departments. The bonus of the hotel is the shuttle bus that the hotel provides taking you back and forth to the centre of sorrento. Much nicer staying out of the centre . The hotel is pure tranquility. Highly Reccomend .
