We were very impressed with the facility. The complimentary chocolate hour was lovely. We enjoyed spending time in the bar/cafe area. The location was perfect for us. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and modern. The pool/spa/sauna area was very impressive - clean, plenty of towels and great showers and toilets. It was very quiet, with no traffic noise despite the busy location.

I would have liked to be able to open a window as I don't like air conditioning, but it was nice not to hear the street noise. So this isn't really an issue.

The room was spacious, clean and super comfortable. The pool and spa were also great and loved that there was fresh air coming in whilst still being undercover and somewhat indoor. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet.

Main reception was not as welcoming as I would have liked for a 5 star hotel. Also, I asked for an extra pillow and blanket for my toddler who was sleeping in the cott at 10pm at night. It took staff over 30 minutes to come to the room and the blanket was too thick and humongous it wouldn't have fit in the cott even if we tried. There was also no place to dispose of my sons nappies and when asked by staff they couldn’t provide me with an answer or solution - just an 'oh thats an interesting question never thought about that'.

Great pool. Great location. The room was nice although a bit dusty. Free icecream for kids.

Chocolate hour was a disappointment. I was willing to pay for it, didn’t understand it was complimentary at first. It was a small set up and a huge row of people waiting. By the time I got to the chocolate, more than half was already gone. Luckily the kid could get some extra ice cream. There was no space to sit, we had to take it to our room. Breakfast was good but it was just too crowded, people were standing in each other’s way. It seems the hotel could do with some extra room for breakfast/chocolate hour.

The location is fabulous and I loved swimming in the pool. We had a spacious and light filled room and I felt like a princess. Thanks to the lovely man on staff who greeted and looked after us at each breakfast. And the reception staff! Chocolate Hour was fun and certainly over indulged.

Just a design glitch with too many tables near the coffee making area causes congestion which makes it unsettling being on this tables for breakfast. It’s minor but notable. Also the air conditioning in our room was blowing directly onto the bed which cased a headache. Switching the air con off meant the room became too hot for sleeping.

Such a beautiful hotel! Staff were so friendly! They attended to our needs straight away (wanted softer pillows) Very clean, perfect location for tourists or just anyone (like us) wanting to stay in Melbourne for the weekend :) I do not have a bad thing to say about this place! Will definitely be staying again.

Loved how spacious the bathroom was, how quiet the floor we were on was, cleaners worked around the absolute abyssmal mess we left the room in every day, the pool was lovely, chocolate hour was fantastic, the location was also fantastic, very close to the skybus, across the road from southern cross, right next to the tram that took us to the convention centre. Overall fantastic hotel.

Spa was kind of hot. Couldn't stay in it for more than 5 minutes, really, but you probably shouldn't stay in a spa for very long anyway. Breakfast also didn't really rotate so it was mostly the same things every day. Otherwise, no complaints!

The building is quite new, the decor was funky, colourful, modern with fantastic street art artwork. The beds were super comfortable, rooms were lovely and dark, loved the teal chase in the room. Wonderful surprise was the chocolate happy hour! Pool with massive spa was beautiful. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and very helpful.

Our rooms were in level 2 and all four rooms had a view of a brick wall which was a bit disappointing considering the beauty of the massive building. In saying this, we di appreciate the hotel accommodating all rooms on the same level.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I was able to check in as soon as I arrived at 2pm, and my room was quiet, beautifully presented and reasonably spacious. This is my second visit to the Movenpick Hotel. This time I also was able to enjoy the Chocolate afternoon tea, offered to guests at 3pm each day. The restaurant, bar and lobby/lounge is light and well-equipped. The pool deck was lovely, although the gym was a bit smaller and dark than anticipated from the photos. However, it was very clean and offered a limited but good range of equipment for a basic workout. Breakfast was tasty and fresh - a small space but offering a bit of many things. The location is great, right across the street from Southern Cross Station (ie. Sky Bus to the airport, regional trains, Myki cards) and between a number of major tram lines. The location of the hotel is also close to the river and within the free tram zone, which is very handy. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

The gym was tucked away in the middle of the second floor, no windows and quite small. The photos make it look better than it is. However, it was very clean and had a basic range of equipment.

The desert hour from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Allowed us to check-in an hour earlier. Check-in was smooth and the staffs were nice. The Pool is relatively warm which was good.

Lobby wasn't that appealing. No storage for outgoing guests who opted to leave their belonging after checkout, hence the luggages were a bit of a n eyesore. The pool is in between outdoor and indoor, can be too cold when you leave the pool.

Pool was amazing. The complimentary Chocolate happy hour was a nice touch if it had of been explained to us better when we arrived. Beds comfortable and location perfect. Love the complimentary sparkling water in reception/bar area.

Communication on check in was not great. More info on the facilities and chocolate hour would have been nice. On our TV hotel guide it said there was a cosy of $20 so we nearly didn't go. As we got back from our walk and it was on I enquired re price and was told it was complimentary, unfortunately we missed 1/2 of it and the platters were empty for another 5-10 mins. The few chocolates we ate were delicious.
