This place is a must stay if you are spending the night in the magical Miyajima Island. It's a traditional japanese inn with everything you need and more, it's a short walk from the ferry station and far from the crowds, but the hotel also provides a shuttle bus for guests that is super covenient. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a very peaceful view of the sea and the cute deers, and with futon beds that were really comfortable. The food was really good, both dinner and breakfast. I highly recommend to get these meals, not only for the whole experience but also for the convenience since the places in the city closes very early. The hotel also have an onsen, for women and men, ping pong table, hammock and a souvenir shop. Also I cannot forget to mention about the amazing and kind staff, from the reception to the drivers that took us to the city thank you so much for everything. We wished we have stayed one more day to enjoy more this place.
Nothing, everything was just perfect.

The Miyajima Seaside was like going to visit family. The staff knew your name They were so helpful and kind, just delightful The hotel was "old fashioned" - Japanese style. We left our shoes in the lobby in lockers We'd done that before But, It was the only hotel where they made our beds -placing the futons on the tatami mats every evening And then putting them away during the day I liked this very Japanese experience - The room was large and very comfortable, with European-style chairs and a side table, as well as a large table (Japanese style) where we ate dinner We had huge windows and a gorgeous view of the water. Breakfast was in a dining hall but we had dinner in our room. The first night our evening meal was not great - but the meals got better, more interesting and varied Daily they gave us some terrific locally made cookies The public baths were fine Not as elegant as others, but that didn't matter. But they were large and clean and they had everything one needs We enjoyed everything at Miyajima Seaside Hotel and would highly recommend

Amazing Rokyan, we loved our experience so much. We travelled as a family and were treated so well. Service is fantastic what seems to be a family run hotel. Dinner was fantastic, served in our room and breakfast in the dining room. Kids meals available if you book ahead of time. Getting into town was no issue as you just go the information booth and get them to call the hotel to pick you up. My daughter had a swim in the beach out the front, which was lovely. Deer everywhere. Beds on the floor were comfortable. Loved it. Book it :)
Yes it's alittle dated but its part of its charm.

This was one of our favorite stays in Japan over our 6-week trip in Spring 2024! First off, Miyajima Island is incredible! We both love it and will definitely be back. If you're thinking about staying on Miyajima Island, just DO IT! We booked a seaside room and it was very nice. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast is a staple part when staying at a ryokan. Make sure you partake, since its already included in the cost of your stay! Staff was so accommodating, and even sent the shuttle to come pick up our luggage from the ferry terminal info center so we could explore the island hands-free! Our luggage was kindly placed in our room when we arrived after check-in. The info center was able to call the shuttle for us and the driver dropped us off at a covered path to the ferry terminal during the downpouring rain when we left the island. 100% recommend Miyajima Seaside Hotel for at least 1 night, but you'll want to stay for longer!

The hotel is in the traditional Japanese style and we loved experiencing this. It’s also in a lovely location, with a deer park close by and the sea right in front - with beautiful views from your balcony. The service is fantastic - all of the staff are so kind and really take care of you in the traditional way - including providing slippers and yukatas. The onsen is great. It’s a simple and small public bath but does exactly what you need it to after a long day of sightseeing. We hugely enjoyed the dinner in our room as well as breakfast, watching the deer walk past.
We are pescatarian and were well accommodated. We would perhaps just warn others that if you have more western tastes, this is a full immersion experience, and the food reflects this in the set menu. There was a small port nearby which seemed to be dumping fish at points during the evening - meaning there was a strong smell of fish from our balcony, but only a small issue.

The staff were excellent. Very professional and attentive, but not so much that you felt like you were constantly being watched. The public bath is available for people with tattoos, which is always a nice surprise in Japan. They were very considerate of allergies, and were the only hotel we stayed at in Japan that understood my wifes complex allergies, so you can be very confident if you have allergies they will be able to look after you. We also really appreciate they came and collected our luggage from the ferry terminal before we checked in, and the special evening bus trip so you can see the shrine lit up at night. Being further away from the ferry terminal was not at all inconvenient, and the staff made it very easy.
Overall the hotel is very charming, but some aspects are a little dated. I would say it is very well maintained for its age though.

The traditional Japanese room looks as cute as in the pictures. Everything was clean. The staff was really nice and helpful, they also contacted us to organize our pickup from Miyajima ferry terminal and took us back there in the morning. We never had kaiseki dinner before, and it was a very good experience. Have it served in our room was a nice plus. Breakfast in the common area was also good. Our first experience with an onsen was also really nice, we used it in the evening and there were only two other guests, so really quiet.
I found the futon uncomfortable, but my friend slept really well in it, so it's really subjective.

Excellent service from staff, they picked us up from the ferry station and got us all set up for dinner, during which they laid our futon out in our room. They were also so nice during dinner. They spoke very good English during check in and were extremely helpful. Dinner and breakfast were both also really good! The location is a bit out of the way from the main touristy streets and shrine on Itsukushima, but their shuttles are so regular and helpful it wasn't an issue and actually felt so nice to get away from some of the hustle and bustle. There are lots of deer by the hotel and you get a lovely view of the sea from the rooms.
It was all excellent.

My husband and I stayed in these traditional Ryokan, it was a great experience to feel the traditional Japanese culture. The room was spacious and beautiful with the sea view, the environment was peaceful and charming, you could see deers walking freely in the street. The staff was really friendly, kind and hardworking, they picked us up from Miyajima port and dropped us there. The food was very traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast, all very good cooked and good quality. However, just to mention if your palate is really western you might find it a bit intense. We enjoyed all of it and onset it was nice but small.

Amazing experience in a traditional style with a modern comfort. The hotel is located in a quiet place ~20 mins walk from the ferry port. It may sound far but the hotel provides the shuttle bus as often as you need. We were prepared for the ryokan rules about the shoes, so it wasn’t a surprise for us. The traditional room is very beautiful, clean, looks better in real life than on the pictures. Nice view from the window, I even saw an eagle on the tree. The hotel staff is extremely polite and helpful. Usually the staff set up the bed after the dinner but they set it up for me when I asked for a day nap. The dinner and breakfast servings is extraordinarily. Nice choice of exclusive souvenirs, especially loved the Momiji manju cookies, the ones from the hotel are MUCH better than the ones from the shopping street. In general, I highly recommend to stay here at least for 1-2 night for better exploration of Miyajima without rush.
