Kaneyoshi Ryokan was an amazing surprise with wonderful hospitality and welcoming staff. We enjoyed the spacious room with traditional design. The breakfast was a great experience of traditional Japanese cuisine. Everyone were smiling and gracious and we had a wonderful and relaxing time.

It’s a ryokan style hotel in the heart of Osaka. We had our luggages sent forward from our previous hotel and we found them in our traditional style room already. Tea and biscuits are offered in the room, plus the traditional breakfast was over the top. Staff is soooo kind. We just stayed one night before going back to our country but we were even able to use their little onsen. Front door is locked between 01-06 Am so if you’re a night owl keep that in mind.

During the early morning bath in the onsen we found some hair chunks on the floor in the ladies bathroom, but that it’s not their fault. Just some disrespectful guests.

Large rooms with a balcony with a river view. Very comfortable futons. Tea pots, tea and little complimentary cookie in the room. Very friendly staff speaking English. Coffee and tea in the lobby . Good traditional Japanese breakfast.

I booked this place specifically for its location and spa. Since it’s a ryokan, I expected a much better spa experience. Unfortunately, it was the smallest spa I’ve encountered in all the Japanese hotels I’ve stayed at. While we were at breakfast, our room was cleaned despite having a ‘Do Not Clean’ sign on the door. It was a rainy day, and we planned to stay a little longer in the room before checkout, so it was quite inconvenient, especially since all the futons had been taken. From 9 a.m. onwards, we could clearly hear housekeeping outside, waiting for us to leave.

Kaneyoshi Ryokan gives you the 'Japanese sleeping experience' with tatami room, tea, and a public bath. At the height of summer, no one was using the bath, so I had it to myself. The ryokan's location is fantastic for enjoying the night life of Doton-duri street. The staff are concerned for guests and were patient and thorough in explaining everything we wanted to know.

I have no complaints about the ryokan. It was a good experience and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. I recommend having one of the Crab set meals. They cost about 3900, but are well worth it if you want the Japanese crab eating experience. It was superb.

The reception staff were exceptionally friendly, making me feel right at home. The location offers a view of the Dotonbori River, yet the soundproof windows ensured a peaceful stay. The space was spacious and comfortable, and the hygiene amenities provided were of excellent quality. The futon was in good condition, without any signs of wear. The hotel is conveniently located near Nippombashi Station and is surrounded by popular markets in the Dotonbori area.

There are entry restrictions between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM, which I believe can be limiting for guests.

This was without any doubt our top hotel during the entire stay in Japan. Location is extremely convenient, close to tube and right in the very heart of Osaka. Ryokan rooms are very spacious, furnished with everything you can possible need. We even had our own closed balcony with lovely view. Japan breakfast was amazing to try, public bath with nobody else in it cherry on the top. Would definitely stay again, many thanks to the lovely staff!

The location was great if you are looking to be near the action of Dotonbori, but offset a bit from a noise perspective. The room was spacious and had a great layout. Our room had large sliding windows in a sitting room overlooking the river. It was so cool to open the windows and listen to the bustle of the neighborhood. The staff were very nice and helpful- they also offered to hold our luggage until 5pm after check out which we definitely took advantage of for a few hours. We were also able to pay a small fee to have our laundry washed and dried for us.

The bedding was a bit tattered and the hallway carpets were dirty and stained on our floor. The hotel looked like it could use some deep cleaning and updates.

The location is amazing, located on the heart of Dotonbori, you couldn't be closure to the action. The staff is friendly, and helpful. There are places to smoke in the stairwells between floors and fresh clean water machines on each floor, as well as exterior restrooms on each floor. Each room has air conditioning and tons of extra blankets and Yukata for sleeping. Our view was of the river so you could see everything, it truly felt like something out of a film. They allowed us to leave our bags before our check in time and even brought our bags to the room for us.

The staff is friendly but not nearly as friendly as everyone else in Dotonbori, which in contrast feels off. (A small thing really) For a Ryokan, it isn't like a full Japanese ryokan, no wooden baths or small gardens but location makes up for it. The fridge had leaded prior to our visit so there was a small flood in a drawer underneath it. With windows facing the River you get to see the lively moods but at the same time it is noisy...at least until 9:30pm, afterward it relatively quiet, only the echoes of the main street parlors might be noisy.

Really comfortable room - we loved the tatami flooring and futons, and the layout was great with the separated window room looking out over the river. Comfiest pillows of the whole holiday (we stayed in 5 hotels over 3 weeks). The location was ideal, though maybe not great if you have children with you. The onsen was fabulous - I am quite heavily tattooed and they had no problem with it all, so it was the only onsen I had the opportunity to use during my holiday.

Our stay was great, for a traditional Ryokan. The location was a bit busier than expected but that was our fault, we should have researched it better. Great if you want to be in the centre of the all the hustle and bustle. We visited Nara for the day from Osaka so didn't actually spend a lot of time in the hotel. It had everything we needed.

Nothing really. We did notice the smoking area was right outside our room but we didn't notice any smoke or cigarette smells.
