Nice and spacious rooms, dedicated staff, superb pool, refreshments at the pool, staff very attentive and looking after guests safety, witnessed one child saved from drowning (careless parents). Good breakfast.

FILTERED WATER: the filtered water supplied to the rooms was awful, taste of chlorine and off flavors. We were buying bottled water outside the hotel. Water at breakfast and pool bar was ok. Restaurant TERRACE "ITALIAN CUISINE": six months ago this restaurant was a gem, authentic italian/mediterranian cuisine and top tier, on par with the best restaurants in KL. This restaurant was giving us a break and together with the superb hotel reminded us of vacations on the Mediterranean. Actually this restaurant is serving dishes best described as malaysian western style, comparable to a malaysian restaurant around the corner serving "pizza", "pasta" etc. The bread reminds me of "Massimo, your italian baker". To keep the same menue (and pricing) as before is over ambitious, to say the least.

The hotel is beautifully located next to the beach. There are plenty sunbeds around and in the swimming pool as well as on the beach. Amazing swimming pool! I loved the architecture of the hotel which gives a colonial, cosy atmosphere. Breakfast is very good.

Unfortunately they were understaffed. A lot of trainees so the service was very slow...... But everybody was extremely friendly so you forget you had to wait so long. The choice of restaurants is very limited. Actually there are only two restaurants and in Langkawi you eat in the hotels. The sea is very muddy and had jelly fish so no swimming in the sea.

We will come back, there is no doubt! Our stay at the Danna was just wonderful. The staff was welcoming, kind, professional, and helpful. Everyone, from the bellboy to the concierge, to the pool staff, to the restaurant's waiters, to the cleaning ladies... just EVERYONE. The hotel itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and well-located. Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a great experience every morning. We enjoyed the pool and beach every day and were honestly sad to leave! But we will come back so it's okay ;)

There is a very small thing that could be improved: clear instructions to the guests regarding the beautiful Japanese koi fishes located poolside. My friend and I kept on witnessing guests feeding them half of their breakfast (bread, granola, yoghurt(!), fruits, etc...) and it was heartbreaking to know that this could harm them. For the defense of the guests, it isn't written anywhere that you shouldn't feed them "human food". I think the hotel should make this information clear, maybe adding information placards about the koi fishes in obvious places to educate us all ;)

Our stay at The Danna was fantastic, we were there for five nights. We arrived a little early and staff were able to accommodate us. We stayed in room 401, corner room which had a view of the mountain. The room had two balconies and was one of the most spacious rooms we've ever stayed in. The layout was perfect. Loved the entry way with the closet and space to keep your luggage and shoes. The king bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on. I didn't want to wake up. The entire hotel is beautiful. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet, great variety of food and very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed the pool, the cocktails and some room service. Best accommodation we stayed in during our 18 day Malaysian adventure and was the highlight of our trip. I would recommend The Danna to anyone visiting Langkawi.

The location is a bit further from Pantai Cenang but that also adds to the charm. Was disappointed the pool closed at 7pm each evening but staff explained they had to treat the water with chlorine which is understandable. Also sad to see the shops and restaurants in the complex next door were all closed. Businesses have been hit hard with covid.

Lovely private beach and well maintained pool area. Free yoga sessions - 2 per week. All facilities were immaculately clean. Fantastic breakfast with all nationalities catered for and complimentary Bellinis :) All staff are very helpful and very accommodating.

If you're looking for twin separate beds, be careful when booking as although I am very sure I requested this, I was told I didn't and the hotel were unable to facilitate it retrospectively. A fold up bed was provided which was comfortable but not really what I would expect for a hotel of this level. The Asian restaurant lacked atmosphere and the food was average. Lovely lounge bar with great service.

We loved the hotel, the swimming pool was gorgeous and the beach was beautiful. All of the staff were so incredibly friendly and made our stay so enjoyable. Our room was huge and the bed was possibly one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Not only that but they also noted that it was my partners birthday a couple of days after we checked out but still decorated our room with balloons and left a delicious cake for him. Truly a wonderful experience!

I can’t think of a single thing that was not good

We had an amazing stay. Shoulder massage and welcome drink on arrival were a lovely touch. Facilities were excellent - choice of restaurants and great pool and beach areas. Breakfast was delicious - couldn’t fault it. Staff were amazing, very attentive and so friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Nothing, it was perfect

Our recent stay at this hotel was nothing short of incredible. The location is simply unbeatable, nestled between the sparkling sea and majestic mountains. The very first evening, we were treated to a wonderful sunset effect behind the peaks The hotel itself is a visual feast. The meticulously designed interior is beautifully maintained, exuding elegance and sophistication. What truly sets it apart is the curated collection of antiques scattered throughout the property. Each piece transports you back in time, creating a truly immersive experience. The staff deserves special recognition – their attentiveness and friendly demeanour ensured we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The on-site dining offered a delightful variety of delicious options, catering to all palates. The infinity pool, with its stunning sea views, was an absolute paradise. My daughter was particularly enchanted by the balcony, where she spent countless hours mesmerized by the breathtaking mountain and partial sea views. The hotel's proximity to nearby attractions like the Cable car, Skywalk, and Sky Bridge was a major plus. These offered even more opportunities to soak in the area's spectacular beauty. In all honesty, the combination of stunning views, exceptional service, and fantastic facilities made for an unforgettable stay. If you're seeking a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway near the sea and mountains, look no further than this exceptional hotel!

We enjoyed our stay from the start. We were welcomed with drinks and shoulder massages upon arrival and received attentive service throughout our stay. The beds are super-king, and we had our best nights’ sleep at the Danna. The breakfast and evening meals were very good. We dined primarily at the Terrace, which offers Italian cuisine and seafood. The hotel is also close to the Ritz Carlton if you want a change of scene for dinner. We enjoyed the pool and private beach. Some might find the location at bit remote after the hustle and bustle of visit the likes of KL, but we found the serenity of the Danna a welcomed change. Most of the attractions are just a short taxi ride away.

In the evenings it was a bit too quiet for us. Whilst there was live music and the bands were excellent, we were sometimes the only ones enjoying. It lacked the atmosphere of a European destination. Perhaps we were expecting too much. Langkawi is not in Europe after all. We would also have appreciated a more tolerant assessment of the risk of swimming in the sea. There was always a red flag! This put us off initially, but we never saw or heard report of a jelly fish. Green is meant to mean low risk, not no risk. The upside was that we and a few others enjoyed the sea to ourselves.

My stay at The Danna Langkawi was nothing short of fabulous! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and pampered with thoughtful touches like a neck massage and tea upon check-in, which truly set the tone for a relaxing stay. The room was fantastic—clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a sleek, modern aesthetic and fresh flowers that created a soothing atmosphere. I stayed in a corner sea view room, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. Watching the sunset over the ocean from my room was a highlight of the trip! They even went out of their way to make my birthday special, which made my stay all the more memorable. The property itself is stunning, with pristine grounds and a private beach that was clean and well-maintained. Every part of the hotel exudes elegance and tranquility, making it the perfect escape. The food was exceptional. We enjoyed Indian dishes, and the chefs were more than happy to accommodate our requests. Bhoomi, who was working at the restaurant, was especially friendly and attentive, ensuring we had one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The breakfast spread was equally impressive, offering a variety of delicious options. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. I can’t recommend The Danna enough—it’s a place I would happily return to. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!
