Beautiful hotel in a great location for exploring Amsterdam. The rooms are large and luxurious and take you back to a different time. A new January 1st policy for free minibar was an added bonus. Room service was available. Staff was kind and helpful.

The check in process was long and I had to wait in the lobby after my check in time because the room was not ready. Front reception spent a lot of time answering room calls when they should have been helping waiting guests. The reception staff was young but kind, however, they really need a front house manager who will take charge and direct staff to specific duties.

From the moment that I arrived to the property, the staff were ready and willing to assist me. I arrived pretty early and they had a room available for me which I really appreciated! The entire staff was awesome from the front desk receptionists to the housekeeping team. I am very happy that I chose this hotel and it was perfect for me as a solo traveler. Another great thing was the location, the hotel sits right behind everything so you can get good pictures, shop, and eat before returning to the hotel.

I did not like the fees associated with things that you could enjoy about being at the hotel. For example, if you wanted to order room service, you would have to pay the high price of the food and also a 15 euro service fee to have it delivered to your room. It just felt crazy to have to pay a lot for the food and a service fee to have it brought to your room when you're in the same building as the kitchen. Also, I recommend getting snacks and drinks from a store rather than using the mini-bar. I paid 20 euro for 4 sodas, this ridiculous!

It's an amazing building..staff super nice

The mattress in bedroom weren't as one would expect in a five star hotel. Not firm enough and worn out. The spa is not at 5 star level.. for instance: only 3 loungers to rest and no staff around to watch the noise level of other noisy guests No complementary tab water was provided in the bedroom.

We loved the SPA. The room is spacious and bright with all necessary necessities. The hotel is big and old but very well maintained and clean. Location is perfect.

Lack of wayfinding signs especially where the elevator is...it can be confusing The staff seem confused even though they were helpful...seems like a lack of good management…

This hotel is a beauty! Striking from the outside and harks back to another time inside. A former shipping office, the developers have left magnificent reminders of its previous use all over the building. If only all city hotels were so historical and enchanting. Our room was huge and wonderfully comfortable. Could not hear a sound of other guests and had two excellent sleeps on our weekend visit. The Amrath is well situated near the Centraal station (few minutes walk) and its easy to enjoy the sights which are easily accessible on foot. So pleased we chose to stay here and would visit again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Amrath!

Not one thing!

It was my first time booking a 5 star hotel ever and the promotional price was good (although came at down season in Amsterdam). Hope they continue this promotions! Art deco style building felt so classy plus really complete spa facilities (we mostly just wanted to stay in). Location was close to red light but was not in the busy area so was also great. Super close to the central station. Very friendly staff and also enjoyed the complimentary mini bar 🤭 would recommend and would stay again if I could.

Very confusing hallway to get to our room but its an old building so not surprised. Items in the room could be updated a bit (ie TV and TV channels).

This hotel is one of a kind and one has to see it to believe it. My stay at Amrâth was a grandiose experience! I advise you walking around and exploring every corner. It is like staying at a unique museum!

Amrâth is not a grand hotel in terms of service which greatly hinders my overall rating. The staff told me contradictory information on two occasions, their explanations were difficult to understand on other occasions, they did not initiate “hellos”, they were not helpful with other things like holding etc. This is very important at an establishment like Amrâth. Service must reflect the price tag.

This property is the perfect hotel and has now set the standard very high for any future hotels I stay at! The spa area is open until 11pm at night - it included 2 saunas, a steam room, jacuzzi, and a large swimming pool. I had informed the hotel we were there for a birthday - they had upgraded our room and had balloons and chocolates in the room upon arrival. Each morning when our room was cleaned they left chocolates, there is a fridge In the room that is refilled everyday FREE of charge. The hotel itself is like a museum you could walk around it was so beautiful. Location is IDEAL, it is a quiet area but it is 5 min walk to the centre, and 5 min walk from the train station. Staff were SOOOO attentive and kind.

My only 1 negative is that some of the jets in the jacuzzi didn’t work. That is me just looking for something to write here as the hotel and stay was just amazing.

A wonderful hotel in the heart of Amsterdam, just a 5-minute walk from the central train station, which is easily accessible from the airport by train, eliminating the need for a taxi. Canal boat tours and all types of public transport are within a 5-7 minute walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is housed in a historic building, featuring spacious rooms with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. The bathrooms are large and include a window, adding to the charm. Coffee, tea, and water are replenished daily, and the rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day, ensuring exceptional cleanliness. The hotel boasts an excellent spa complex with a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and two saunas. A special thank you to the staff for the lovely birthday greetings that made my stay even more memorable!

Hotel has loads of character, highly personable staff and great central location in Amsterdam. We spent New Year's Eve at the hotel and all the staff worked hard to ensure it was a special and memorable occassion. All of the staff were great, but Dale in particular stood out - he served us a few times in the bar and restaurant and delivered exceptional service.

The hotel would benefit from a little TLC and improvements in some areas e.g the spa and sauna which was not very warm. The bar and restaurant sometimes felt a little understaffed. However the staff managed this as well as possible and clearly care about giving good service.
