The stay was awesome and the staffs at the restaurant were very friendly. The food at the restaurant was also very nice, we stayed in Bambu for 2 nights and we always had our dinner here in the restaurant. If you have big luggage it is going to be little difficult to carry them when you go upstairs but it is the case in most of the stays in and around Amsterdam/Haarlem location. Haarlem is also very well connected via train to Amsterdam main station, commute was never a problem.

kettle in the apartment was not that clean we had to clean it ourselves. Also the stay is little noisy but it is understandable since it is situated in a square

Almost adjacent to the magnificent Grote or Sint-Bavokerk in central Haarlem, the Bambu Sleep Boutique is ideal for attending events at the nearby PHIL, which was my main reason for travelling to Haarlem. There are lots of eateries and shopping nearby, without the absolute chaos and hustle of Amsterdam. The Haarlem canals are also very underrated. The Sleep Boutique is above the Bambu Haarlem kitchen which serves good food - we ate there and received our first drink free as a welcome gesture on the first night. The food was good too and the restaurant popular. The room itself was at the top of the building with the contours of the roof describing the contours of the ceiling. The bed was comfortable and the shower surprisingly good at the top of the building.

It's not well signposted - go into the restaurant and they will sort you out. The view from the room was non-existent, but that didn't matter. The coffee machine broke down and leaked. However, when they say on the website that the room is accessed by steep stairs, even by the standards of the Netherlands, these are STEEP stairs and tight ones too - 37 steps or two floors of fun with big suitcases. It was an experience to say the least. If you're travelling with luggage and you're not into hauling loads up (and - worse - down) stairs, you really need to look elsewhere. Having said all this, would I stay at the Bambu again if I was coming to Haarlem? Actually, yeah, quite possibly (though I'll pack lighter next time!)

Friendly, helpful staff. Location right in the center of everything. We saw some earlier complaints about noise, but our room was on the top floor facing the back, so that was not a problem at all. The espresso machine in our room didn't work, so the staff made us coffee each morning in the restaurant.

As mentioned above, the espresso machine broke, but the restaurant staff made us coffee, so that was fine. As many folks mentioned, the rooms are up very steep, long staircases with narrow steps. We were on the top floor, and I had to stop about 3/4 of the way up each time to catch my breath. If you have any difficulties with stairs, beware. Even if you're out of shape, you may want to get a room on the first floor. Also, our room, specifically our bed, was under the eaves, so I couldn't stand up straight to get out of bed. Not a big issue, but worth mentioning.

Great location. Staff were really friendly and helpful (it was convenient for the hotel to be linked to the hotel downstairs for luggage facilities and assistance). Nice decor in the room

The walls were super thin - I woke up at 3am one morning because my neighbour was coming home because I thought they were in my room (they weren’t and they weren’t been loud either). There was one 1 power point available to use to charge which was in the bathroom near the sink - not ideal for charging electronic devices.

We stayed in unit #3, right on the square, over Saturday and Sunday. This room is on the top floor, and on Saturday night was very noisy, not unexpected. Earplugs are a necessity. This room is probably great from October until whenever it gets warm. No AC, so in the summer probably very warm. The stairs are very steep and narrow, very typically Dutch stairs. Pain in the A to get the luggage up and down.

Really the only thing we didn't like was that the lighting was very dim. Just mood lighting, hard to find things when the sun goes down. Stairs are steep.

Location overlooking the market square suited us perfectly - if you are a very light sleeper and need your sleep you may be better off with a room that doesn't overlook the square as late night revellers and early morning market set-up could be quite intrusive. We felt that the interest that the view of the square provided more than compensated for any loss of sleep (and they do provide ear plugs!). Breakfast was in a friendly cafe just round the corner - very tasty and plentiful. The room was large and comfortable and was exactly like the advertised picture. The restaurant provided a good variery of interesting and tasty Asian-themed food, with a great atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and relaxed.

We loved staying here; the en-suite is very small in comparison with the spacious room. As other reviews have mentioned, the stairs are very 'Dutch' (steep and narrow) but it wasn't a problem.

The room was quite big with almost all amenities. The bed was very clean and comfortable. Recommend this place to stay. Centrally located and the train station is a 10 minute walk away and has a beautiful view with riverside houses around ❤️

But the light bulb inside the room was not very strong and suggest you to replace the TV with a smart one. I’m not saying this as negative just a recommendation ☺️

The room was beautifully decorated and the staff were very polite / welcoming. The restaurant bar is very nice too, they make a fab chai latte. I did not find the location too noisy despite reading other reviews. Even if it was noisy we were provided with ear plugs but honestly I slept really well. Thank you

It would have been nice if the bedsheets and bins were changed - other than this it was lovely . The stairs are steep to the rooms so if you have knee issues I wouldn’t recommend

(yellow room) Lovely design, a big and clean room. There is a nice view from the window to the busy market square. You can drink your morning drink and observe the city live.

It was rather cold inside. Bed in my room was too far from the radiator (which is the only one in the room). This is the busiest part of the city, and the market starts early (not each day), so be prepared for the noisy surroundings.

The location is great and it was easy to communicate and receive all the information needed about the location.

The stairs are very narrow and the coffee machine didn't work. We mentioned it in the reception (which is the BAMBU restaurant downstairs) but they didn't solve the issue.
