This was booked as a last minute stay, and I was very impressed by the value for price. The staff were very friendly and the lobby was beautiful. I was impressed with the room as well - it was spotless and spacious. I really enjoyed the terrace and was pleasantly surprised by the little details in the room - coffee, tea, hot chocolate with a French press coffee maker, dish soap, cutlery….

I booked a king suite room and was given a queen suite room - I only paid $5 more for the king bed but I was still hoping it was going to be a king bed. However, I did request a room on the 2nd floor so maybe that was all that was available.

Big room, we really liked that it had a kitchenette with a small fridge. A bit chilly in the bathroom but there was a heating fan that you could turn on. We liked the location right by hagley park and some restaurant options nearby. Also very nice that we could do our laundry there for a small fee. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions :) We checked in in the middle of the night and it worked super smooth.

We were attending a wedding and needed to be picked up at 2 pm by a bus. We forgot to ask for an early check-in and they had been completely full the night before. We called an our out from the hotel to ask if it was possible to get in early. Unfortunately, this was at a really busy time but the cleaners were amazing and we only had to wait 30mins and got into our room at 12.30 Thanks to the Cleaning staff and management our 2 storey 3 bedroom unit was perfect for our stay

Comfortable room and bed with good service between days of my stay. Good bathroom. Nice arrangement of the little kitchen facilities. Particularly liked the on-site Strawberry Fayre which was good and very convenient although the stairs to the seating area were very steep and not accessible for disabled. Small seating area downstairs but no atmosphere there.

My room's sliding window had been left open on the ground floor which meant it was accessible by anyone from the path outside. I did not realise for a while. Also reception was very brief ( we arrived about 5.30pm so lady was waiting to go home I think). No reception after 7pm only a telephone number to ring. Access to car park a trifle tricky crossing another road. My accompanying family"s security lock on their sliding window fell off when touched as only held on by 1 screw. Given a screwdriver to fix it! Reported and fixed next day.

Very comfortable large double bed and met the very basic requirements kitchenette neatly hidden in a 'cupboard'. We were very happy with this as have been staying in self catering units whilst touring New Zealand. Staff on reception were very friendly, and free parking was much appreciated.

The room/suite had a tiny apology for a balcony that was shared with the neighbouring room and directly facing a staff service corridor, so was unlikely to ever be used (other than slightly opening the patio door for ventilation. The shower was adequate, but not very powerful. The toilet only had a single long flush - not very water efficient.

The room was spacious, great layout, the kitchen was tidy and had everything we needed, bed was comfortable. The bathroom and especially the shower were dated but clean and tidy. FOH staff were exceptional. Great initial encounter at check-in, and the other staff we bumped into were also friendly. Overall the place is clean and today and well presented. Would definitely book again.

Spacious room with a kitchenette inside a cupboard which was handy. Around 15 mins walking distance to the centre of the city - I don't mind walking so this didn't bother me. The restaurant above the hotel was also really nice - I had a great breakfast there! I arrived really late (1.30am) due to a late flight and the night check in process went smoothly (via a lock box and code).

Walls were a bit thin - I could hear guests coming in late at night and the staff cleaning and shouting to each other around 8am (given that I only arrived at 1.30am due to a late night flight and didn't get to sleep until 3am-ish this wasn't ideal).

It was spotlessly clean, the bed was really comfortable and I loved the art dotted around the place. Great location and friendly, helpful staff.

It's an old building so there's almost zero sound proofing and the fixtures are old. Still loved our stay and would recommend it

The room, kitchenette, location and cleanliness was exceptional. I have never experienced such helpful and friendly (not just professional friendly, but genuinely "like people" friendly. It felt like home!

There was only one thing we would change: there is no grab/hand rail in the shower. Our Dad is elderly and has mobility problems so he had to use a chair for the kitchen for him to put at the end of the shower stall for him to grab when getting in/out of the shower, for safety.

The room was very comfortable for two people. The local area is full of good eateries or the restaurant out the front. We had a ground floor room, which made check-in and out very easy with a lot of luggage. Solid WiFi too was a relief after a few dodgy areas in other hotels.

There were no towel rails in the bathroom, so we had to hang them on the shower divider.
