Location was good; the size of rooms (living room & bedroom) was very generous; and the bedroom had wonderful big windows looking onto the water.

The penthouse where we stayed had a strange arrangement where it could only be accessed through stairs, not an elevator. We had to carry our bags a full floor upstairs to get to it. There was no help to carry the bags; the front desk was thinly staffed. In addition, the AC in the living room was not working, and despite our request to get if fixed, it never was, and neither was there any explanation or attempt to apologize.

- A suite room is spacious with wide ocean view. Perfect for sunset watching. Big room on top floor with private elevator ( for going down only) - jacuzzi tub was great - New world supermarket is just across the street

- EV chargers did not work as promised (mobile app could not be downloaded and charger looked outdated and no cable) . Luckily there was ChargeNet 50 kW just across the street. - suite room on 4th floor and elevator only reach 3rd floor, meaning walking up one flight of stairs. - no kitchenette or microwave, even in the suite - relatively slow WiFi speed especially while watching streaming eg. YouTube or Netflix - AC in room looked filthy, need regular service - should include body lotion in toiletries

Comfortable bed. Room was warm. Restaurant excellent - we are there twice and it was high class. The restaurant staff were really friendly and professional.

Our daughter tried to organise a surprise voucher for us to use in the restaurant but the staff member she communicated with did not follow through and so the surprise was spoilt and nothing was organised. This was disappointing for our daughter. No microwave in the room. We understand there are ‘safety’ concerns but every other establishment we have stayed in has one. No lift - although there are not too many stairs, it’s still not desirable to have to carry luggage up them.

It was winter yet the room was beautifully warm and cosy from the sun-drenched veranda. The view is exceptionally good for watching the sunset, and the location was perfect. It is super easy to explore either the beach or around town on foot from this location.

The restaurant was doing a locals Karaoke night, and the singing was torturously appalling. To be fair the hotel reception staff warned us it was on. Plus, the staff aren't liable for whomever sucks down too many spritzers and mistakenly concludes they're a singing super star! So, in future I would dine somewhere else on any Karaoke night.

The location of this accommodation situated right along the beach, it is easy to find this location, there are enough parking slots within the hotel compound. There is a supermarket right across the hotel. You can find great fish and chip restaurant nearby too. The hotel room and toilet is clean. The room may not be very spacious but enough to fit our luggage. The room is warm during winter. There is a heated rack in the toilet that impressed me it helps to keep the towel warm.

The breakfast selections within the hotel are limited. As hokitika is not as vibrant as city like Queenstown, so we do not have much food options around the location early in the morning. However, the breakfast from the hotel was decent enough. :)

Your restaurant I’m afraid was not what we expected for something that was advertised as the place to be. We were there for a NYE dinner as a party of 9 the lovely young lady who served us was absolutely wonderful then I’m afraid that’s where it ended. The food that was served to us was at best a 2 star rating and considering our bill came to $600 you can imagine that that too added to the disappointment. Your chef and manager really should review the quality of your ingredients and the standard of the food that is served to its patrons and perhaps deliver what it promises.

The Beachfront Hotel is ideally located in Hokitika. There were plenty of shops and restaurants within a short walk from the hotel. Our room was quite small but absolutely fine for our one night stay. The view was to the front of the hotel onto the street, so nothing to write home about, but ok. We ate at the restaurant at the hotel and the meal was excellent. Definitely worth a try. The back of the hotel leads onto the beach. It's a lovely location with some excellent views. The town itself is a charming place with lots of arts and craft shops, and a good choice of cafes and coffee stops. The staff at the hotel were courteous and helpful and overall, we enjoyed a our short stay.

Our room was great it did need a lick of paint but otherwise was a wonderful stay. Loved the restaurant lovely staff and exceptional food that came very promptly they were very attentive and informative.

The street view from the room felt slightly uncomfortable but for a room at that price it was acceptable. Also signage to find the rooms and to find the reception coming in from the restaurant side I know it’s not an entrance you would prefer but it is confusing for customers that do come from the beach side.

We loved our experience at the Beachfront Hotel Hokitika. The room was spacious and well appointed. The bed was so comfy and huge! The bathroom looked brand new and was exceptionally clean. The bonus was having our own little courtyard and a heat pump which was a godsend as we visited in winter. The location was perfect and everything was walkable. Having an afternoon drink on the deck of the restaurant was a perfect way to watch the sun go down. Would definitely recommend.

Was very central to everything. You couldn't ask for a better location to be in hokitika. Lots of parking available too.

We're quite intrigued by the story behind why guests can't borrow/use cutlery. However there is a lovely op shop across the road if you'd like some snacks and need to cut things up We had a room on the bottom floor by the walkway, so it was quite light and at times quite noisy. As people were coming down the stairs from rooms above us, they thudded down their suitcases, so it was a tad noisy. Potentially expected with the location (which you couldn't beat).
