Location of the hotel was excellent, as it is a short 1min away from the main city area, so it’s quiet and dark enough at night that we were able to view the night stars from our room. The hotel room is spacious and bed is comfortable. Breakfast consisted of free flow cooked hot breakfast (items on the menu for your choosing). Dining room is slightly small, so you may need to wait for a table at times. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

Shower hot water supply was great, but the pressure of the shower can be improved.

The location of the hotel was good with beautiful views across the lake. It looked like a newish property with clean and comfortable rooms - which were somewhat characterless and unremarkable, but did the job. We stayed there one night and have no complaints. The skylight above the bed was a nice touch.

The room had the basic amenities - but for the price we were paying, and relatively to similarly priced properties that we stayed in across New Zealand - we felt that that it was a bit basic. We payed almost the same (in fact less) for a room at the George in Christchurch using Booking.com as we did for the Galaxy boutique hotel and the experiences between the two is incomparable. The Galaxy is functional and perfectly ok for a one night stopover stay. But we did think it was overpriced.

The property was two storey, however there were outside ramps between floors to pull your suitcases up. 😀 It was located amongst housing but close enough to walk to shops etc. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were on the second storey which had magnificent views over the lake. We ordered breakfast in our rooms which meant we could sit at our well positioned table in the room and look out over the lake. Similarly we could have an evening drink and see the great sunsets. It was very clean and the rooms were warm and sound proofed.

It is actually located right next to the town center. We could walk to the supermarket and all other eating outlets. Car park was right Infront of our door. Very convenient. Breakfast was included which is nice. Save us the trouble of looking for food and coffee in the chilly mornings. What's more! The staff brought our breakfast to our apartment. We could eat leisurely in the warmth of our room and watch the sunrise over the lake. It's amazing!!!

It would be nice if there was a washer in the apartment.

Amazing views, beautiful room with all the amenities. I loved the fact that they provided a robe and slippers. I also loved the products they had in the shower, such good quality. These just add that extra touch and really goes a long way

1 thing I would recommend though is having a bigger breakfast area. As some mornings it was full and hard to get a table. I also would love to be able to have dinner there. I think it would do so well, as there’s not so much in town in terms of options.

Property was super clean and the facilities were perfect. Bathroom was awesome! Ceiling shutter for in room stargazing was next level! Even though it was a super cool night on our stay the rooms temperature was warm. Breakfast in the morning was great too! All the staff that were working during our stay were very kind and attentive. We didn’t get a perfectly clear night for stargazing, but it was still amazing. Lake tekapo is clearly the place for it, and galaxy boutique hotel is definitely the place to stay!

Our stay in one of the first floor rooms (view attached) was very comfortable. The bedroom was a good size and the big window provided a decent view of the lake. The skylight for star gazing is a neat little touch. The bathroom was very good complete with a large bath and a separate shower and a good selection of toiletries. We enjoyed a reasonable breakfast in the reception area. The staff throughout were helpful and friendly aiming to make our stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

It is expensive for what it is so in value for money terms it's not a 10.

Some towels and robes need an update. My robe didn't look great . See the attached picture . When you pay that much for a room , you expect a coffee machine in the room. Breakfast coffee very average. Breakfast ok , nothing special . The room was freezing when we got there but in a couple of hours, it was nice and warm.

Everything about our stay was perfect. View is great, bathtub is lovely and very smartly designed with the glass. Tastefully designed and felt like luxury. The soap/shampoo/conditioner/body balm was super luxurious as well - made me go google on where I can buy it from. We were here on our honeymoon and they went the extra mile with rose petals and chocolates and towels folded to look like swans. Staff was really sweet and she helped us move our luggages up the slope to our room on level two, explained how everything worked. Breakfast was great - with cooked eggs (scrambled or fried) and bacon and grilled tomato and hashbrown etc, made to order when youre in the dining room (you can also opt to have it served in your room). Thank you so much for such a lovely stay!!

Everything was perfect - though we didnt get to use the skylight to see stars (couldnt see anything when we tried - perhaps it was too cloudy that night??)

This is a new hotel that's only been open since 2021 and the staff are excellent and very friendly. They have a very professional attitude to check-in and check-out, showing you to your room and explaining how everything works. The rooms are spacious with excellent views of the lake (provided you booked one with a view) and have a well-stocked fridge and free tea and coffee making facilities. There is an impressive skylight above the bed where you can lie back and observe the stars due to the 'dark skies' element of the town. The bathroom was large with both shower and separate bath and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was included in the rate and I really enjoyed my conversation with the management team prior to check-out and wish them well.
