it was good location fully equipped self serviced room. had everything needed for our stay with young kids close to mount cook and 10 min drive to lake pukaki for night tome star gazing

we stayed 2 nights and with the room service the next day i think they only changed towels. no beds were made or toilets wiped and refreshed. also there was a laundry option but we had no nz$ traveing from australia and didn’t need it as card was accepted everywhere but the staff would not zaccept card of charge it on room and lastly accepted to charge double if we wanted to pay by card

We chose to stay here rather than at Mount Cook because of the cost saving. The day-trip to Mount Cook was excellent. There was a small supermarket within walking distance of the motel which provided us with our dinner needs. The room had all the facilities we needed and was well heated (The temperature was -4 degrees Celsius one morning).

The reception was only open for very limited times during our visit. We only got to talk to anyone on check-in at 5 30pm. It closed 5 minutes after we arrived and was not open at any other time while we were there..

This was one of the best places we stayed during our trip in NZ. Our suite was so spacious and comfortable. The only flaw was that the room was a bit dusty, which triggered my allergies. However, from our own experience in the car, the whole area is pretty dusty overall, which is not their fault. Everything else was spotless. It has everything a person might need, as it is fully contained. We just didn't make more use of the kitchen because the area had so many lovely places to eat out.

The staff is nice and considerate. We arrived late, it was not office hours, but received both handwritten message and online message in my booking account. They gave us clear instructions on where to park, how to get into our room etc. The view from our room is nice, although we spent most of our time in Mt. Cook, it is a plus. We enjoyed the morning coffee and view before driving to Mt. Cook. They have many facilities that make our stay there very convenient, including all kitchen facilities, fridge, microwave oven, and even toaster. What most impressed us is they even have washing machine and drying rack in the room, saving your money and time for laundry. The location is good, near to the supermarket and restaurants. They assign a parking lot to each room, so there is no need to worry about the parking.

Nothing much to complain about. The only thing is that due to the wooden structure, there is noise of floor cracking when walking around in the room, but we were not bothered by this too much.

Nicely furnished, clean and central apartment. Reception staff were very helpful and accommodating to our needs in relation to late arrival. An excellent stop if wanting to do the Hooker Valley/Mt Aoraki /mt cook area and would stay again.

There were a list of charges and rules, one of which was an additional charge for every hour past check in. i think it was something like 25/50 NZ which seemed a bit much. We made sure we were out on the dot but felt like the cleaning staff were eyeing us up for a charge, - probably just us feeling paranoid as they were friendly, polite and courteous

We stayed in an apartment unit 11. Has lots of room. The bathroom is large and the shower has plenty of room too and great water pressure. The whole apartment was kept very clean and tidy. We also like how there is a descent lounge suit that's important for us when we book that there's somewhere descent to sit. The bed was comfy. Great parking. We also love that you can walk to town just across the road.

The bed was comfy but nothing special. Because it was wider than normal the sheets and duvet didn't fit properly. Not wide enough for this bed, as I'm a restless sleeper I kept pulling the duvet etc off my partner and vice versa. As for the bottom sheet it also wasn't wide enough, it kept moving off the mattress, couldn't tuck it in, it was too small for the mattress. It was a very uncomfortable sleep. Front door needs fixing sticks at the bottom and doesn't always shut properly.

We ended up here after a shocking Airbnb experience and we were pleasantly surprised. The room is HUGE with a separate bathroom and kitchen. The beds were really comfortable and clean. It was located just a short walk from the Twizel restaurants and had a small table to eat at. The accom also had some nice touches like an air fryer, a nice tea selection and some toiletries. Also had convenient parking right outside our room.

Stayed a night here. Great location in Twizel, just across the street from the petrol station, supermarket, and restaurants. Room was spacious and well equipped (per description - microwave, toaster, and coffee-making facilities). Heated blanket and heater in the bathroom were a bonus. Appreciated that the room was kept warm and toasty for when we arrived.

The Colonial Motel is lovely and clean and well appointed and positioned close to Twizel supermarket, shops and eateries. The staff went over and above to help us. We had an issue with some items left in Timaru and a bike we needed to leave. We were extremely grateful for their easy going assistance. Thank you so much.

Beds were very hard , not comfortable and we thought $280 for the night was very expensive we have recently been to a few equally good motels in tourist towns for around $230 which i thought was where the price should have been to be honest if we had been able to book alternative for around $230- we would have
