Uncomfortable sofa; very slippery, minimal support. Uncomfortable chairs, although less uncomfortable than the sofa. TV; way too complicated Smart TV, is this really necessary when clients are only likely to stay a few nights? Just a list of channels is more than adequate. Window beside the main door; even though it's frosted glass, light comes in and is in the direct line of the bed. No washing up products if you decide to cook

The hotel was far nicer than I expected for the price. The decor was great, the room was large and very equipped. The location was perfect being just across the street from everything in the main part of town, including shops and sights.

Venturing out at night when we first got there, the lighting on the property was not so good and it took us a while to realize there was a very nice path. The path was towards the edge/cliff going down to the river, so we were reluctant to go that direction, but in the daylight it was perfectly clear and not a problem afterwards.

We had an excellent stay at Grand Suites Tekapo. The two-bedroom suite felt like new—clean, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen fully stocked with essentials like tea, coffee, cocoa, and fresh milk, and the inclusion of a guest laundry room was a great convenience. The central location was a standout feature, situated just across from the Church of the Good Shepherd and a short 5-minute walk to the lake, restaurants and shops. Highly recommend this place, and we look forward to staying here again.

The rooms were wonderful. Large with TV, sofa, great bed, good kitchen facilities, and lovely continental breakfast. The bathroom was up there for space, a shower, and the cabinet (you could put your toiletries out). The view of the lake was good and it was nice and close to the town. The staff were very helpful and were happy to give you advise on things to do in town.

I don't know if it was just us or it's a NZ thing but if you arrive before 2 pm they are not happy campers and they weren't the lone rangers in this!

This is the 2nd time we stayed at this motel. we had a really good experience last year; therefore, we brought our parents this time. The location is very convenient, only walking distance to The Church of the Good Shepherd. we stayed at two bedrooms apartment on upper floor which have very beautiful view, and the lift is great for my parents who are not very good for walking though the staircase. And Dave & Sue and their team are very friendly, Sue told us where to eat and local events. Within the facility, the kitchen is very tidy & clean, everything is thoughtful, they even have a rice cooker. Bathroom is good size and clean, also they provide body lotion as the South Island is quite dry. Overall, we will recommend this motel to our friends.

The room is spacious, modern, stylish and well-furnished. We really enjoyed the stay, despite the rainy weather. Thank you for the great hospitality from Dave and Sue. We also loved the breakfast recommendation - you get 10% discount for brunch in Jack Rabbit.

Nothing about the hotel, but there appears to be a data breach issue in Booking.com that you risk getting phishing email on behalf of the hotel aiming to get your credit card details.

Newly built & open since September, 2022, this hotel was most notable for its very contemporary decor and amenities, such as a heated bathroom floor, heated bathroom towels, large shower stall, water conserving bathroom faucet, 4 USB charging outlets in the room (2 at the bedside), extremely comfortable king sized bed, phenomenal room views of Lake Tekapo and its surrounding snow-capped mountains, not to also mention the complimentary milk & coffee for the room. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful & professional.

No signs depicting the hotel name at the front of the hotel nor at the street level to indicate its location. Even with Apple "Maps", we still drove past the hotel and had to back-track to find the hotel. Though the hotel is moderately expensive, it was definitely worth the price. Only continental breakfast was available (did not purchase).

Loved the beautiful apartment was very nice and warm and quiet . Staff seemed happy and cheerful. Check-in was a breeze and very friendly helpful information 😊 we stayed on upper level and there was a elevator to help with baggage which was nice .

I did expect that they might have guest robes and such luxuries, which they didn't , we were forgotten about and had to ask for more milk and coffee as room wasn't attended to . Honestly, for the price point I was expecting a little more . Bed linens were average, and ours was stained . On leaving, there was no one around to give keys back to . Felt almost like they didn't care .

I cannot rave enough about Grand Suites, Lake Tekapo! We rented the two bedroom apt and it was beyond gorgeous; sleek, modern, clean and the view of the lake was wonderful. The furnishings, linens, and toiletries were all top notch. Beds were very comfortable. The spa tub was a delight after several long hiking days. There's also a nice track that starts right behind/next to the GS. Kitchen had everything you need and then some including an Nespresso maker in addition to the French press and kettle. Nice guest laundry, too. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful and Dave and Sue, the managers, were really great, just awesome people. Parking was also easy and the cafes and stores were a quick walk across the street. GS was even better than the pictures, which doesn't happen often on booking type sites. You can't go wrong booking here!

Not one thing except maybe the weather could've been clear so we could see that amazing sky from our room, but it's not like GS can control the weather. :-)

I loved everything about the property! In fact, I would’ve chosen it and stayed here for the four days of my trip to southern island if I had known it was so wonderful and it would be enough for my trip to NZ. It’s has the best location in the small town of Tekapo and it is in walking distance to major scenic lookouts and restaurants. It has the best views that picture what paradise could be like.
