Cute and clean. Host was very warm and friendly. Very close to Castle St George. Restaurant next door is actually very good and just a few doors down is a very good gelateria and a few more doors down there is a great spot for Pasteis de nata.

Although the location is very good there are some drawbacks. It’s basically at the top of a hill. And, the area has limited traffic (a good thing) so you will be climbing a mountain every time you go home. Note, be sure your driver has pass to get into the area. Also, no elevator so be ready to haul your luggage up a few flights of narrow stairs. All in all minor inconveniences. We actually really enjoyed our stay there.

The location was amazing in the old town next to the Casle. The apartment is managed w great details. The communication was excellent. We recommend to all and will be comming back. Thank you Ines, Sara abd Luis (Rui)..for great hospitality.

There is nothing not to like in this place. We enjoyed tremendously.

The 2 strongest Points of Castle Inn Lisbon are the communicationa and care of the hosts and the location. Nadia and the rest of the staff were always helpful attending every request or concern that we had. The service that we get on a vacation is part of the positive experience and they were the best we have ever had. The second is the location: the best in Lisbon. 1 minute away from the castle at the heart of Old Lisbon and Alfama. That made our stay! They were very considerate in allowing us to leave our luggage in the building after the checkout! These small things are what made this whole thing a great stay!

Castle Inn Lisbon is absolutely the top place to stay in Lisbon. From the moment of booking until our departure, we truly felt like guests of this extraordinary home. The location is beautiful, set on a charming street that is lively during the day, adding character to the place. However, at night, it is peaceful and quiet, allowing for complete relaxation. The owner has thought of every detail to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We arrived early due to an early flight, and despite this, we were fully informed about where we could leave our luggage. Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised when we were notified that our room was ready earlier than expected. We were warmly welcomed by Sara, a delightful and friendly person who made sure our room was prepared and clearly explained all the details of our stay. Thank you, Sara! The owner regularly checked in to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything, which was very kind and indicative of the high level of service. In the room, we found a bottle of alkaline water, which was perfect for staying refreshed in the warm Lisbon climate – we highly recommend it to everyone! At the end of our stay, we were offered assistance in ordering a taxi, which could arrive right at the front entrance, another example of the excellent service provided.

10 out of 10j just don't seem enough. We hope to return here one day because it's truly worth it!

It was clean and very thoughtfully appointed. It even had a single cooking burner. Great water pressure and fluffy towels. Our room looked out on a narrow cobblestone street that had very little traffic noisy. It was right near the castle. Lots of little places to eat nearby. A very old historic part of Lisbon.

It was a long walk up the hill! However there was a bus (737) that went as far as the castle gate. The eateries were all very touristy, but very understandable as the castle is a major attraction. If you don’t like walking up hills and stairs this place is not for you.

The apartment was perfect for us (2 travellers). It was ideally located for a few days' visit to Lisbon, in the old part of the city. Yes, it was uphill and not easily accessible by car but this was not a problem for us at all. If you are reasonably fit and are used to walking around cities, regardless of your age, you would not have an issue with the location. Whilst the area was bustling, the apartment itself was very quiet. Communication by the host was exemplary and we very much appreciated the recommendations for eating out in the local area. One suggestion for breakfast was Ludo's, a delightful little restaurant hidden just around the corner. Our breakfast was so good on our first morning that we returned there each day of our stay. No point in looking anywhere else. It was also a bonus being able to leave our luggage in the apartment building after check-out to be picked up later in the day. When we return to Lisbon, we will definitely consider staying in Castle Inn Apartments, and would recommend it to other travellers.

We loved our stay in the charming blue & white nautical themed Descobrimentos apartment with local views inside the castle on one side and river views on the other side. Unique experience living close to the castle peacocks too. Clean and safe, comfortable, well-appointed and true to photos. It’s a one bedroom with separate kitchenette cum living room with a comfortable sofa bed. Full shower and toilet area with heated drying rack. Mini fridge and toastie maker + teas and kettle let us make some wonderful snacks with fresh local produce. Appreciated being able to leave our luggage inside the locked main door after checkout if needed.

It’s a climb up the hill to get back home every night and then a couple of flights of stairs to get to our flat (no lift). It’s good exercise but can be tiring after a full day out. Only taxis can drive up to the door-step (private hire cars will drop you and bags outside the castle gates and you’ll need to bring them up yourself). Would be great if there was a washing machine to do laundry (esp when travelling with kids).

The location, a few meters from the Castle Sao Jorge and short walk to a bus to the center of Lisbon and the metro was perfect. We were in "low" season, so some nearby restaurants were only open for lunch, but there was ample choice for dinner close to the apartment. Antonia went above and beyond in helping us with some unusual requests. Her assistance made our first trip to Lisbon wonderful. We will be back and hope to stay at Castle Inn in the future.

If I have one comment that people might consider "negative," it might be the location if you anticipate spending your time in Lisbon clubbing. That is not our "scene" so for us, the location was excellent. If you want to be closer to the bar scene, consider the travel time from the Alfama area to where you wish to be. If you are fine with using public transportation, then you'll find this a wonderful place to stay.

The location was fun. Safe and clean neighborhood. The apt was spotless and comfortable. There are some good food options close but mostly we ate when we were out and about. One thing we enjoyed was being within the castle wall area, we could go in to see the castle first thing in the morning with no crowds. also has opportunity at night.

getting our luggage to the room was a bit of a challenge in the rain. walking up hill in the rain with very slippery streets was not easy. it was hit or miss taking an uber ride. some drivers could take us close, others said they could not go. we only really opted to take an uber at times because the rain was so heavy and the street dangerous with that much water flowing. like a river. But, not the property's fault! I don't have anything negative to say about the property itself.

Large and spacious inside. Everything you could want was provided. Nice touches left in the fridge and on the table as a welcome pack. Large double bed and ample storage space. The vendors were in regular contact with advice re taxi pick up etc and we felt very comfortable knowing they were there.

Nothing !!!! We have no complaints about the property. It is somewhat hidden as you climb the narrow street inside the castle walls. Very good bus service with the bus stop just outside the walls. Cheaper to use this service than taxis or the other transport. It does get crowded during the day and early evening but very quiet as the crowds leave for the night. Very nice restaurants nearby too. On the whole we had a very good time. Lisboa is a very kind, gentle and giving capital city. We can’t wait to return :)
