The location is in the heart of Old San Juan, walk to everything. Stayed in the Merlot room. Was spacious and the balcony was wonderful. AC kept the room cool. Shower was huge, abundant hot water. Hotel was clean and had a great courtyard.

you are close to nightlife so there will be noise from the street. Didn't bother us and ended around 11pm. The coffee machine in the lobby kept breaking and many places didn't open early for us to get any. The rooftop restaurant menu didn't excite us. Better food elsewhere.

The location was perfect to visit Old San Juan. The employees were the best part of the stay. Angel, Noemi, Pedro, and Manuel made our trip peaceful and pleasant. Nothing but good things to say and location and staff.

Though not their fault, we lost electricity for a few hours in the city. I wish they had la generator due to the outside temperature. Not the fault of the hotel!

I love this hotel. The location is perfect and the accommodations are exceptional. The staff are all super accommodating and the rooms are extremely comfortable. Its an old building so the outside noise can be hard in the room, but that happens everywhere in old san juan. I will definitely be coming back!

The only thing I can think of is the parking situation. The parking on the street is very limited and the garages are not that close. There's a parking space in front but it was all booked during my stay.

The staff is amazing. Everyone was incredibly nice and seemed to really care that we had a nice stay. They set up our cab to our next destination and gave us recommendations for places to eat. We also loved the location. You can walk to anything you need within ten minutes or less. And we enjoyed sitting on our balcony and people watching.

The room was very dark. The lights were so dim, you might as well have left them off. Street noise was also really loud at night. The hotel is near a lot of bars and restaurants and nightlife. People who need it completely quiet to sleep will either need to bring earplugs or stay elsewhere.

The location was great. We were able to walk all around the old town from the hotel. Many restaurants nearby. Easily walked to both forts. Rooms (living room w/sofa bed & bedroom) were spacious for our group of 3. High ceilings and good AC. Staff at reception very nice.

Some street noise the 1st night, but we just turned up the volume on our white noise app. Water pressure could have been better. Unless you have very short hair, hard to get hair wet and hard to rinse shampoo from hair. Never could get any hot or even warm water from the bathroom faucet.

Staff were friendly and attentive to any questions or concerns we raised. Location was perfect for navigating the city on foot.

Not totally within the Decanter's control but we said that the room did not meet our expectation for a quiet space because it faced the Main Street where frequent late night bar patrons congregated after closing. We did not realize it was Spring Break which speaks for itself in terms of late nite noise.

We booked a room for two adults and a kid and the room was huge. Lovely king size bed and a pull-out couch. The location is so perfect to walk around the old town and the staff was friendly and helpful. We peeked at the rooftop bar and it was hopping but we couldn’t hear it from our room.

On a Saturday night, the noise from groups in the street was very loud but this was not too surprising.

I love everything Didn't have anything bad to say about the room the staff I am so pleased that we stayed at this hotel

The hotel was very good. However, There was an issue with our reservation and they could only honor the first night of our stay. so we had to be sent to a different hotel after one night, but the staff at Decanter did an excellent job of taking care of us, moved our luggage for us etc…and were super kind and caring, especially the manager lady! I would stay here again for sure, mostly due to their excellent customer service.

The AC was noisy

I thought the property was very nice and perfect location to everything .

If I had to say anything it was the loud music from the rooftop bar however its not just my vacation its everyone that is staying there so I feel that if you don’t want hear loud music just dont stay there but you will be missing out in this beautiful historical hotel . You are right in center of everything and the building itself is beautiful and the staff are amazing and accommodating. For me I would definitely stay there again but just bring ear plugs 😊
