The location is perfect. Very central with everything at the top of the drive. Still quiet though. The rooms have everything you need , including a very efficient air con unit. It's all a bit tired but for the price it's great value. There's a warung (restaurant) attached that is cheap but I suggest you go across the road to Da Warung which is slightly more expensive but excellent. There's a laundry next door , various massage places, ATMs and anything else you could need within a few steps. Recommended.

This is not a negative comment, just a word of advice. For the price it pays to manage your expectations. The extras that you would normally get in a standard hotel are not provided here , but this is not a standard hotel.

I loved that it was central but also tucked away, we woke up to nature sounds but could walk to all the shops, cafes and monkey forest. The staff there friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, we stayed in room 21, the only down side was that it had no windows whereas our friends were in room 17 and had almost 360 views, we just stayed one night and didnt spend much time in the room so it didnt matter much. The communal pool was lovely and the price and value is great! would definitely come back!

room 21 needs windows :) and i feel like a simple breakfast should be inclueded in the room price.

I had a large lovely Balinese room with a four poster bed, also with a balcony and a nice view. However I was always concerned about slipping as to get to it you need to walk down many steps and down a long path, it was often raining so can get slippery. Also my room was upstairs with ceramic tiles on steps. Not recommended if you are elderly or with mobility issues. Bedding was good but the towels need a really hot wash as some were smelling. Cleaning not always consistent, some days no water was left and it felt like it had been just rushed. Lots of monkeys, do not leave anything out or be walking with food. My balcony was often a no go area due to my visitors. Pool is nice but wooded floor gets very slippery when wet. Staff at Reception are supper helpful especially the lovely young lady who went out of her way to help me. 🙏 (Paid a good price especially for accommodation with a pool (£20 a night) not Inc breakfast but there is a small restaurant attached (for about £3) or lots on the street to choose from.)

The risk of slipping, especially after rain. Not always clean towels. Lots of monkeys, nice to watch from behind glass but they can be aggressive if you have food. Couldn’t adjust air con as device seemed broken. Kettle lid broken and not so clean inside.

All I can say is wow! We were so blown away by the amazing property. Amazing value for money, the family room had enough room for all of us. It’s in the heart of ubud centre. Walking distance to the temple and ubud market. We didn’t need to visit the monkey forrest as we had monkeys visit us every day. The pool is slightly heated which made swimming comfortable for our little one and even has a small section paddling pool for the little ones. There’s a restaurant onsite that offers cheap food and they even do room service. Not one thing to fault. Just a tip, turn shower on at least 5mins before using to heat up and the hot water is perfection! Staff were absolutely incredible and so accommodating. Bummed we didn’t stay longer

Absolutely nothing! Stairs can be an issue for elderly or those with mobility difficulties. When wet the pavers can be slippery so just be cautious otherwise everything was incredible

I loved the authenticity of it. The staff were great and the eating at the top was cheap and had delicious food. The monkeys walking around the property was fantastic even though you had to be careful of your belongings it was a great experience!

Our room the aircon didn’t really work well and there was a leak in the toilet that went all over the floor. The pool was great and in the sun with a good temperature however there were quite a few broken and sharp tiles in the pool.

Location is great, just off the Main Street full of restaurants but the hotel is nice and quiet. Staff are friendly and breakfast was basic but nice. Restaurant is really cheap for lunch and dinner.

The air con wasn’t working strong enough to cool the room but they arranged for technician to fix it and it worked a lot better, they also provided us a fan. There are a lot of stairs thought out the hotel grounds, which guests with mobility issues or young children should be aware off. Also a lot of monkeys in the grounds, which are looking for food. So if your scared of monkeys I wouldn’t stay here as they were all over our balcony fighting over our towels.

Great rooms and really nice staff. The price is excellent for what you get!

The breakfast was not great - somehow it was included for me so it was fine. I would not recommend paying extra for it if you don't have it included. There are also a lot of monkeys around! Usually they're fine and not around so much in the week it seemed rather than the weekend, but it could be intimidating to walk through the gangs of them to get out of the hotel as a solo traveller. One of them also stole my breakfast one day - which was quite funny. Of course this is not the hotel's fault - just proximity to the monkey forest!

Great traditional balanise hotel rooms, built on a long narrow strip of land perpendicular to the main high Street. Good Pool, good rooms, good linen, nice space bathrooms and excellent staff.

there were a lot of steps from the reception all the way down to the bottom of the hill and then all the way back to the top of the second floor our room was the furthest away none the less we got used to it. we a lot more people the most retirees our age

The place was very very charming, a cosy room with a great view from the balcony. I loved the general feel of the hotel and that it was quite silent and the room quite spacious with sufficient electric plugs and in useful locations. During the morning we heard the monkeys playing outside which I really liked and it gave me the feeling that we were staying in the middle of the jungle.

Some of the stone stairs were quite slippery when wet with running sneakers because of a very thin layer of mold. In Ubud it rains often so this happens easily. To avoid this please brush them every now and then so no mold grows on them. Stairs that have more activity do not have this issue because the mold cannot grow there. Meanwhile, as a workaround for the guests, wear other kinds of shoes. Sometimes even good sandals have better grip than the running shoes for this very specific situation.

A beautiful, stunning, clean room in such an amazing garden. The grounds and gardens were so magical, I literally felt like I was in the middle of a jungle paradise (which I was!). You can sit out on your balcony/deck and watch the little monkeys and the world go by and listen to the sounds of the river situated next to the rooms. I had a gigantic bath and bed in my room and it felt so luxurious! The pool was so clean and fresh and I spent many nights out there relaxing and swimming at sunset. The location was also perfect, right in central Ubud city but off the street enough to be peaceful and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were also very friendly and asked me if I needed them to clean my room or not every morning which I appreciated a lot.

There was no hot water in my room which was disappointing as I really wanted to have a refreshing bath. It wasn't too terrible as it was really humid and hot when I visited Ubud, however sometimes you want a hot shower to wash your hair in. The air con was also not great at all, I was super hot at night and woke up sweating most mornings. But at the end of the day this is a hotel in the middle of Indonesia and I wasn't there to spend the whole time in my room so I didn't mind and made the most of it anyways! 🥰
