Wonderful hosts Paul and Lorna were super welcoming and friendly, with many tips on great hikes and excursions. Accommodations were excellent, and breakfasts were delicious. Our hosts made sure we were aware of the somewhat limited area restaurant options for dinner, and supplied all the info needed to book our tables.
Strontian is a bit of an isolated location in the Highlands, which we didn’t realize when we booked. Getting to many key Highland attractions involves taking the ferry (which worked out great but does cost £11 each way) and then long drives. However Paul and Lorna made great suggestions to visit other places on the west coast which were more accessible and truly lovely, so our time spent here was quite enjoyable.

Heatherbank Guest House is the best bed and breakfast we have stayed out in this part of the Scottish Highlands. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and the accommodation was superbly decorated and filled with really beautiful traditional furniture and fittings. The lounge was magnificent, and the views from the front windows were simply stunning. The bedrooms were spotlessly clean and well equipped, the dining room was beautifully laid out, and the breakfast surpassed the best hotels. The views from the front of the property were absolutely stunning, with magnificent scenery all around. Seating was provided to sit out and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere and lovely gardens. If you are looking for a "True Taste of Scottish Hospitality ", then look no further. This is the best you will discover! Perfect 💙🏴💙
Ha ha... Only that we had only booked a one night's stay!

Paul and Lorna were exceptional hosts and couldn’t have been more welcoming. Initially we only planned to stay one night, but after such a glorious sleep we decided to stay one more. Paul was very accommodating and not only made us a superb breakfast in the morning but managed find us a room for the night (it was the deluxe suite which was offered at no additional cost!). In addition to this, Paul helped us find bikes to rent locally and even drove us to the bike collection point. As if things couldn’t get any better we also enjoyed a fantastic meal at Heatherbank cooked by Paul. A very generous offer to invite us for food as we were unable to find a reservation locally due to us booking so last minute. Simply couldn’t ask for a better experience at a B&B. Highly recommend!

After a very long car journey we had a wonderful welcome, a great sleep and a perfect breakfast. We couldn't have asked for more. The area is stunning so we will definitely be back for more.
It really is in the middle of nowhere, so make sure you are organised with dinner arrangements. The host let us know in advance which was really helpful.

We accidentaly chose the area, and luckily it exceeded our expectations: On one side the verdant hills and picturesque slopes on the back side where occasionaly some sheep and cows were grazing. It is close to Ariundle nature reserve. Great for exploring this part of western Scotland, Loch Sunart and villages. The breakfast was asolutely delicious and it is served in the very welcoming dining room by the most gracious hosts, Lorna and Paul.

Heatherbank Guest House was idyllic - welcoming and so perfectly quaint. It was a bit off the beaten path, but certainly worth it. Aside from our booked room, which was so cosy - the lounge area provided another great spot to enjoy. Breakfast was exceptional. Couldn't ask for any better. Would certainly recommend a stay here.
Nothing.

Great B&B in the middle of the hills above Strontian. The area around is beautiful and quiet. Paul was a great host and made us directly feel at home. He helped us with ideas to visit around. The house is beautifully equipped. Breakfast was delicious with various choice of conventional and vegetarian options.

We felt truly relaxed at the Heatherbank Guest House. Paul and Lorna were very welcoming and keen to offer suggestions for places to visit. Paul's porridge is amazing. The best porridge I've ever had, and I'm not exaggerating. A great lounge area for a nightcap and offering great views in the morning. Really recommend staying here.

This beautiful property is an ideal base to enjoy all the west coast has to offer. It is on a peninsula which can be more easily reached on the ferry which takes about 3 minutes and is fun! However you can drive all the way around it and really this route, although narrow in places (but with lots of passing spots) is a spectacular drive. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and Paul always takes the trouble to interact and ensure that everyone has everything they could want. The tranquility of the place is just wonderful and I cannot wait to return in the future.
Nothing at all, unless you count having to leave!
