Location—walking distance to many things

The suite had a kitchennette but no utensils, plates, bowls, paper towels, or dish soap. The AC unit in the room was weirdly calibrated and the room was often too hot or too cold.

We really liked the location of this hotel, close to Chinatown and downtown. The bus stop is across the street and everything was accessible on foot. The staff were really friendly ALL THE TIME and just really lovely and professional. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable. Loved the heated floors and comfortable beds. Didn't find it too noisy except for other guests opening and closing doors (can't be helped so it's minor). Coffee (pods) is included and fresh fruit in the lobby. Would stay here again based on location and comfort.

Unfortunately it's quite expensive for what it is (not a luxury hotel) and this would be due to the location and comfort level of this hotel in the area.

This is a very nice hotel in an historic building close to all the features of downtown and near some exceptional restaurants—Japanese and vegan restaurants (what!) were stellar. I recommend it. Rooms vary in size but have everything you need. Hotel staff were lovely and always helpful.

This has nothing to do with the hotel but is offered for future travelers to Victoria: Parking is very close by and uses an app called ParkVictoria, which you'll need to install on your phone. It lets you preload $ from your credit card, and parking costs $15 Canadian per day. The app isn't great, the system was down twice in the 3 days I was there, I had money in my account but got a ticket anyway. The upside is, the people who support this app are lovely Canadians who listen and communicate, and the app is set up to refund any money you don't use from your ParkVictoria account. So it's a tad awkward, but just fill the account between 8am and 8pm as soon as you get your parking space. Outside those hours it might not let you add $, because parking at night is free. Go figure.

- Quiet - Large bathtube - Large room - Lots of light - Location (Walking distance to anywhere fun for shopping or going out) - Easy Parking ($15 / day parking near by, free at night and on sundays)

- Decoration of the room is a bit outdated - The shower deserves to have a real showerhead at this price point - Furniture needs to be revisited to fit the room floorplan. No place to put our suitcase on or not much space in front of the bed

The facility itself felt very safe and secure. So easy to walk the area with the hotel as "home" base. Parking was off site but very close and easy enough to get to.

We slept in and missed housekeeping. We want downstairs to ask if someone could still come and change the sheets on one of the beds (a little corn nut accident). We then left for the day. The beds got made but they never changed the sheets for any of the three days we were there. Normally, I wouldn't care but we asked for this specifically.

It was a really good experience staying at The Rialto Hotel. Nice facility with restaurant and bar, well decorated, large room and bathroom, absolutely nice staff and an incredible location in the city. The only reason I'm not giving them 10 is because of the lack of parking. The nearest garage is in the next block, not too far, not too close either. Besides that, I would definitely recommend.

The lack of parking is a downer. From 8pm to 8am you can park on the streets for free though, if you find a spot, otherwise, private garage is your next bet, with plenty of space and some walking.

Room was clean, bedsheets smelt fresh, shower was good.

It was rather overpriced. Room was extremely small and basic. Front desk receptionist was polite but not exceptional. No breakfast was offered for the price paid. Parking was a real pain. You have to park temporarily outside to check in. This space is small and is often unavailable. Then you have to park underground in a building across the street. But I realize that Victoria is like that. So, generally speaking, hotels in Victoria are a pain to stay in, insofar as parking is concerned. They are also rather expensive.

The place, location and facilities are great

The bartender guy at night at the hotel bar was extremly rude. I understand customer service can be difficult at times but the very least to expect when you enter into a bar to order 2 beers is to be treated nice. Instead, he was just rude and I guess he wasn't up to do his job. Really disgusting experience, especially being a customer of that exact same hotel.

Very dignified, exquisite, Italian decor. Very friendly, helpful people at the Reception Desk. Including a very charming lady from Ecuador and all the others. Good location, ten minutes walk to the waterfront. The hotel was built by an Italian expat; he turned the place into a real pearl. Try to book a room on the fourth floor. We were in room 407. It's quieter up there than downstairs. The bar and restaurant are also very dignified and inviting. Everything is perfect. Thank you. HH and BMH, Switzerland

The concierge this morning was excellent. He was chipper and helped us find what times we needed for the bus to the ferry twice. He also made sure we knew where we could find a good breakfast. A very helpful positive man who would probably be good in management. We left a bag of books behind and the front office phoned us when they found them and said they would send them tomorrow. This is a relief.
