We always had clean towels to use for the community bathrooms. There was never a time where a bathroom was unusable due to uncleanliness. During our week stay, the staff had to interact with a guest and enforce a 4 guest per room rule which we thought was very fair. Considering the size of the rooms, close proximity to other rooms, there should be no more than 4 including visitors per room… They truly care about creating a good experience for your stay. Plus, there were NO bugs! Zero.
If you find something to complain about, you should leave NYC immediately and go hang out in a nice quiet suburbia. This serves its purpose perfectly. Get in, wash up, sleep, get out in the city and live your life.

Expecting the bare necessities -- a room with a bed -- this place was great. The bed was clean and comfy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially Peng. The hotel is safely locked up, so I felt very safe. The bathrooms were cleaned very regularly. The coffee was always fresh and available, and there were even some bonus snacks available sometimes. The location was awesome, easily able to walk anywhere in Manhattan or hop on the subway.
I didn't like the things you should expect when you stay here, as you read in all the comments, but none of it bothered me too much. No window in the room is the biggest drawback, I never knew if it was morning, would sleep too little or too much as my body didn't know when to wake up. It is noisy, you can hear every little thing happening in the hallway and other rooms, but it didn't bother me, everyone was respectful of the noise they made. Bathrooms are clean, but aged.

The location of this property is excellent, it saves you so much time of traveling. Complimentary water and coffee. Clean bed sheets. Four or five bathrooms - you do not have to wait for someone else to be done. Rooms are very small, but this is not a problem if you are staying for 1-3 nights because most of the time you are exploring the city and only use the room for sleeping. If you want to stay longer or think about being in the room more than just for sleep, choose different one. This is a great and affordable option for those who want to visit the expensive city, be in the centre and save money.
The bathrooms are not so clean, bring flip-flops.

You must understand what you are paying for and the significant cost difference between this hotel and others in NYC. The room was small but had the necessities for visiting a city where you are only in the room to sleep. The location is only a three to five-minute walk to the nearest Subway so it is easy to get to other parts of the city. The room was clean and the communal bathrooms were clean. Surprisingly, we never had to wait for a bathroom to become available (4 full baths). The staff were very flexible with our arrival time. Our plans changed, and we were told we could check in any time before 4 AM. The free umbrellas for guests to use and return were much appreciated as we did not plan for rain.
The bed could have been thicker and more comfy but I was so tired after touring the city that I slept very well. There is also an affordable massage place directly across from the hotel.

The owner was lovely, very accommodating and friendly. Showers had great water pressure and hot water. Paying a little extra for a private bathroom was well worth it. Super close to Chinatown, little Italy, the manhattan bridge, and 5 minutes walk to the subway station. We were able to check in at midnight no problem and the 11:30am checkout time was very generous, the owner also let us store our bags for the day at a very reasonable rate.
The walls were thin and although there was a “after 12am quiet time” rule which was great for night time, a few guests were awake at 6am and loudly making coffee/toast/chatting. The bathroom could use a bit of a refresh and deep clean, but you definitely got what you paid for so all around it was great value and I would stay there again. I would recommend bringing shower shoes though.

lots of extras: towels,coffee/tea,shampoo in the bathroom , tissues....just nice extra touches throughout.
Things like paint and windows could use a bit of upgrading, a shabby ness was evident, but the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms always clean. Don't bring lots of luggage! There is a steep flight of stairs.

The location is excellent, and the place is very affordable. It's a good choice if you primarily need a place to sleep. The host is very friendly and helpful; we even had the option to choose our room on the first day. Additionally, it was clean and free of cockroaches or other pests, which was a great relief.
The room was quite small, and since we traveled with large bags, it felt a bit like playing Tetris trying to open them inside the room. Also, be aware that you have to climb a rather long flight of stairs to reach the hotel.

I am a light sleeper but I slept really well, of course you can hear when people come and go or talk but it wasnt as bad as portraied. What I really like is that opposed to hotels around time square/Empire state building its really silent, no sirenes throughout the night. Its close to two important subway stations and only a few metres away from little Italy. There are quite a few places around where you can grab some food or drinks or go Shopping in Soho. We definitely made the right decision to go for a cheap place in a food area.
3 of 4 bathroom doors didnt lock or didnt lock properly. Toilets could be a bit cleaner, if the hotel it full it should be cleaned at least 2x a day not 1x

The location was great! It was a short walk to the Subway located on the corner of Grand and Bowery. The bathrooms were clean and operated well. There were plenty of bathrooms and never had to wait for other patrons. The staff were extremely hospitable, friendly, and accommodating. Plenty of restaurants in historic Chinatown and Little Italy are blocks away! I would definitely recommend on a budget travel.
There is not much I didn't like. It met my expectations!

The rooms are simple, if you're not going to be hanging out in there much anyway, what's the point of spending a lot of money on one. The staff are always there, and very receptive and understanding. There are no bugs and the price is right, that's all I care about.
The beds seemed a bit harder this time, I wonder if they changed the mattresses. Also, I learned that the water provided is from the shower; potable, I'm sure, but kind of grody.
