My stay at Lucky Hostel in Tokyo provided a mixed bag of experiences, with some notable highlights and minor inconveniences. One of the standout features of your stay was the self-service aspect, mirroring a trend seen in modern accommodations. From check-in to check-out, the hostel empowered guests to manage their stay independently, thanks to clear and comprehensive instructions scattered throughout the premises. This seamless process undoubtedly contributed to a stress-free experience, allowing you to focus on exploring Tokyo's vibrant streets and bustling neighborhoods. Furthermore, the hostel's round-the-clock accessibility ensured that guests could come and go as they pleased, regardless of the hour. This flexibility was particularly valuable for those looking to immerse themselves in Tokyo's renowned nightlife without the worry of being locked out upon their return. On the upside, Lucky Hostel's affordability and prime location near the train station offset some of its drawbacks. For budget-conscious travelers eager to explore the heart of Tokyo without breaking the bank, the hostel served as an excellent launching pad for urban adventures. Its proximity to public transportation hubs undoubtedly facilitated seamless exploration of the city's myriad attractions, making it a practical choice for travelers looking to maximize their time in Tokyo without compromising on convenience. In summary, Lucky Hostel offers a budget-friendly option for travelers seeking a self-sufficient stay in Tokyo's bustling metropolis. While the abundance of stairs may pose a challenge for some, the hostel's accessibility, affordability, and prime location make it a viable choice for those looking to experience the vibrant energy of Tokyo without draining their finances.

It's worth noting that Lucky Hostel presented its own set of challenges, notably the abundance of stairs. With three levels to navigate, each laden with luggage, the ascent could prove cumbersome for travelers burdened by heavy bags. While this may not be a fault of the accommodation per se, it's an aspect worth considering for future guests, especially those with mobility concerns or larger suitcases.

We booked this property twice on our trip and we loved our stay. Common areas don’t look like much but the rooms are new, clean and spacious. Extra details like toothbrush, towels etc were nice touch. Self check in is possible if you arrive late, easy communication with staff. Location is great, right on top of Family mart and close to metro lines.

Common bathroom lacks airflow and gets a bit dirty when lots of people, team however cleans it regularly. Depends on guests staying in hostel it can be quiet or loud. Maybe more signs are needed for everyone to keep quiet.

Location is great, many restaurants and shops around. They let you store your luggage in reception for free which was really appreciated. The room we booked is bigger than the average Japanese room so we had plenty of space.

The toilet needs a deep clean, the brush to clean the toilet bowl was disgusting. The kettle had coffee stains. Luckily the rest was clean so it wasn’t a big issue. There is a constant noise at night not sure if it comes from outside as we didn’t use the aircon.

Good location, close to station, and good value for the price. There is soap & shampoo + more free for use in the bathroom. Good communication from staff regarding hostel location, access and key pick-up. 200 yen laundry machines also available.

Someone outside of the hotel were talking very loudly around 4-5 am, but I dont think they were staying at the hostel. Dont think any people staying at the hotel were being loud. Bed might be a little small if you're 185cm+.

Price is good. Very clean even for shared amenities. Toothbrush, facial wash, buds, drinking water all were free...basic, practice, not expensive, location. Is good. I like it a lot. Had to wait for check in but was allowed to take a bath.

Nothing really...just basic n very practical...like it a lot

The location was really good. It's near to the Okubo train station which is just one station away from Shinjuku. There are also bus stops nearby so the transporting from one place to another is easy. A lot of convenience stores nearby too!

All the rooms are in the 3rd floor, so if you have big & heavy luggages, it may be hard to get by.

Excellent location, great value for money, easy check in and check out, friendly staff

Overall it was good. However, the mini fridge looked like it had never been cleaned and was moldy, there was a lot of hair in the drain which we had to remove ourselves and the bidet didn’t work. We also had to walk to their second location (5 minutes walk away) so not the end of the world but would’ve been good to know beforehand.

Lucky Hostel was great! Easy to explore Shinjuku from there. The staff made check-in and check-out simple. The private room was cozy with a comfy bed and good air conditioning. Shared bathrooms were clean. I’d stay there again for my next trip to Japan. 😊

Bathroom was a bit small

Good location, close to the train station. Clean. Excellent value for the money. Clean shared bathrooms and toilets,… depending on your fellow travelers, of course. Free water. Free toiletries. There’s a fridge in the room, and a microwave in the lobby.

The walls are paper thin, so you can hear every movement and noise from your neighbours.
