We stayed five nights at Quinta de la Rosa and it was perfect. Our room was in Amarella cottage a few minute walk from the main house which was lovely and had its own pool! Food at the restaurant was great including Tim’s Terrace. Also it’s only a short 10 minute walk into Pinhao where there are more restaurants, bars and boat trips and the train station.

Nothing!

The space is beautiful - a historic quinta, with views of the vineyards and the Douro river. It's a large property, with plenty of room for guests to feel private. Multiple pools, a trail through the vineyards, nice rooms. The staff was also lovely - very kind, professional, went above and beyond. The restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. The best part was probably the location - walking distance (15 minutes) into the town of Pinhao, but outside enough to feel like you're deep in the valley.

Honestly nothing worth noting. Was an excellent stay, especially for the price.

Excellent dinner menu, Food was outstanding. Service was sometimes confusing, didn't seem efficient. That said, we had very friendly service persons. It seemed sometimes like each item was being brought by a different person, so you didn't feel "accompanied" by a particular server. The location and landscape are breathtaking. Very special.

Breakfast selection was good but lacked cooked items (eggs, etc.). I would have expected more items for a hotel of this category. There was basically no service at all at breakfast. We were left alone and had to ask where to find certain items which had run out of(e.g. butter). As we were there at the end of the season, it seemed a little lifeless, but we were looking for a quiet stay so that was OK.

We enjoyed our stay in Quinta de la Rosa's beautiful accommodation, delicious restaurant and exploring the vineyards. It is possible to walk to Pinhao (about 20min). We were made to feel very welcome and the restaurant was great. We had a wonderful time!

A minor inconvenience.... we really didn't like the coffee that the venue served in rooms and restaurant. In our opinion, it has a sour after taste. For guests, the coffee making facilities are in a communal lounge down some stairs (not in bedrooms). This meant getting dressed and facing the world, without a coffee to help. We then couldn't drink the actual coffee. Coffee sagas aside, a great venue and we hope to be back! Be aware that many tourist visit options in Douro are by reservation only and often depart from Porto. So recommend you spend a bit of time booking the places you want to visit in advance.

This is a wonderful place to stay in the Douro, it has everything - lovely rooms with views of the river, a fabulous restaurant, idyllic pool, stunning walks and wine tastings on site! We had a superior double with river view and it was wonderful; the bed was so comfy. The shower was very good (although leaked onto the floor rather a lot - felt sorry for housekeeping who had to pick up and change our sodden towels every day!). Breakfast and dinner were a delight and the wine tour and tasting was really interesting and yummy. The staff on the whole were great, especially the lady who took our tour and handled some rude Americans with grace and patience. Pinhao is a short walk down hill where you can go for a boat trip in any weather (1hour is enough) and visit the charming train station. A few shops and other places to eat and wine taste (we didn’t partake). We highly recommend this property - stay and eat and drink and walk around the estate, you wont regret it.

This a note for the traveller not a criticism of Rosa. November is a good month to visit the Douro - the weather is still warm and there is not much rain. As it is Autumn (beautiful colours!) there are quite a few bonfires in the area as lots of gardening/vine maintenance going on so I had to use my inhaler due to the smoke.

Great location and rooms were super fresh and modern. Great onsite restaurant serving a la carte options.

Coffee pods in room were a lovely touch but it Would be great to have coffee machines in the room rather than one in a communal area for everyone to use. For the price point, I would also suggest the Quinta advertise that they cook eggs to order (no one mentioned it but we heard other guests talking about it) as well as making coffee from a proper barista machine rather than automatic (the milk was super sweet).

Amazing views and amazing rooms. The pool was a cook welcome: the rooms were big and so were the bathrooms. The morning breakfast was amazing. Have to thank PEDROS one of the restaurant staff who went out of his way and helped us call an ambulance after my husband had an allergic reaction. He stayed with us till the medical team left and stoped all his work to accompany us. Super lative service.

The parking is difficult the location is a bit remote so we had a tough time finding a place to eat outside on other days as the restaurants stop taking guests after 9 pm. The food at TIMS TERRACE was not great. The main restaurant was much better.

We spent two lovely nights in 2 different rooms(due to availability issue). Both rooms were sparkling clean, with luxurious linens, towels and robes. Comfortable beds AND the most delicious smelling Molton Brown bath products! The views were wonderful from our rooms, as well as from their beautiful pool area. Breakfast included was divine, and we enjoyed our meals on their outdoor terrace overlooking the river. Tim’s Terrace had an amazing burger, and our dinners at Cozinha da Clara were delicious. After a day out, we loved coming back to the Quinta to relax and know we could have our meals there. I suggest you book in advance a tour and wine tasting, as well as dinner for the day of your arrival. And arrive at time of check in to enjoy the pool beforehand. The staff were very welcoming and sweet.

They are clear that they do not offer luggage service, so if you have mobility issues, lugging suitcases up and down the stairs may be challenging.

A beautiful property in a wonderful location, 15 minutes’ walk to the village and perched just above the River Douro. Pretty bedroom with excellent bathroom, very well-maintained. Fantastic breakfast, amazing variety and quality. Lovely staff, helpful and smiling. Ate dinner in the restaurant just once, it’s excellent but expensive. Enjoyed the wine & port tour & tasting, and a yoga session (in one of the port cellars!). Also enjoyed the carefully mapped wallks through the vineyards, the longer one affording amazing views across the valley and the river from the top. Staying at Quinta de la Rosa is expensive, but was a real treat.

Location is wonderful and the view was amazing. The The room is a great size and comfortable. Restaurant has a wonderful terrace with a great view overlooking the valley. Food was delicious and well presented, especially the dessert.

Customer service and friendliness of the staff was definitely lacking. I got bit by a bee while lounging by the pool and after asking for an ice pack at the reception was told that they don’t have any and offered an insect itch relief cream without any other suggestion' how to handle the situation. The water served in the room is a tap water.
