My husband and I stayed at the hotel for part of our honeymoon and can't get over how beautiful the property is. We arrived on a sunny afternoon and were immediately blown away. It felt like we were walking around a postcard. Once we checked in, we never left the property for the remainder of our time in the Douro Valley. There is so much to explore and do and excellent wine to taste. Perhaps the most incredible part of our stay was the food. Everything is fresh and either grown on site or traded with neighboring farms. We haven't stopped talking about the breakfast croissants made with port wine syrup or the caramelized apple pancakes. When the rain rolled through, we played cards and read in one of the common areas that still allowed us to enjoy the spectacular views. We can't recommend this hotel and quinta enough. It was one of our best getaways yet!

The only downside was that you could easily hear other guests in the hallway and the opening and closing of their room doors, cabinets, etc. This is certainly not enough of a complaint to keep us from coming back to this fantastic hotel!

Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta was in the most perfect location for us. Having a car to access the surrounding area was important for us to enjoy the area. The accommodation was extremely comfortable with comfortable beds and great linens. Breakfast was amazing with a great selection served by amazing staff. We came for the wine and the views, both of these were outstanding! Also, check out time being 12:00 was an absolute bonus.

A small thing but important, please provide cups in the room for coffee. Glass without handles is not safe! Also, I couldn’t reach the coffee maker in the room as the shelf was too high.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Quinta de Ventozelo, an experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality that set the tone for my entire stay. The staff are truly exceptional. Everyone I encountered, from the front desk to the housekeeping team, was incredibly friendly, professional, and eager to make my stay as comfortable as possible. They went above and beyond to ensure that all my needs were met, often anticipating them before I even had to ask. It's rare to find a team that is so consistently attentive and kind, and it made a massive difference in the overall quality of my stay. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities I could need. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and the attention to detail in the room setup made it feel like a home away from home. I also loved the little touches, like the greeting wine bottle waiting for me upon arrival. The hotel's facilities were top-notch as well. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals with a wide variety of options, and the service was impeccable. I also enjoyed relaxing at the pool and walking around the vast property that extends to the river shore. Overall, my stay at Quinta de Ventozelo was nothing short of perfect. The outstanding service, luxurious accommodations, and genuinely caring staff made it an unforgettable experience. I can't recommend this hotel enough, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

From the moment we arrived and drove down the winding driveway, our stay at Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta was nothing short of exceptional. The customer service at reception, pool, and restaurant was impeccable, with staff always eager to assist. The facilities were spotless and well-maintained, and the views were simply spectacular. The food and beverages were phenomenal, enhancing our experience even further. A particular highlight was the pool, which featured an active bar and offered breathtaking views across the valley and river. Our only regret is not booking a longer stay.

Room was slightly smallish with two large suitcases, but nothing we could work around.

Rooms in the garden were a little bit dark, but there are also other rooms category with the view on the river

The wine tasting, the picnic near the river, the walk in the vineyards were awesome. The service in general was fantastic. Carlos told us so much valuable information about wines that was so interesting. The views were unbelievable. I liked also our room, its style, view, size, comfort, temperature - everything.

ThefFood was good but some dishes I didn't like(expected grilled fish instead of fried and didn't like side dish with strange pasta) Just not my taste for food, a bit to salty for me. Swimming pool was very good in general but it has quite a slippery entrance so I fell and it was a bit scary :)

Absolutely amazing stay. The location is stunning with views over the valley. The room was decorated beautifully and had everything we needed including tea and coffee in the room. The food at the restaurant was delicious, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner all days. Fresh ingredients grown on site. The pool is great, and stunning walks around the property. We also did a wine tasting whilst here, which was very informative as well as fun. Couldn't recommend more.

Beautiful location in the Douro Valley with amazing views.

Restaurant food was average and limited choices. Food was too salty. On our 1st day room temperature was comfortable because it was warm outside so the air conditioning was running. On the 2nd day which was a slightly colder, rainy day, when we returned to our room, it was extremely hot in the room. We could not adjust the temperature at all and get any cooling because the hotel centrally controlled the system and it was changed to heat. This resulted in a very uncomfortable night with little sleep! I mentioned this at checkout but there was little concern expressed.

The hotel is amazing! The rooms are beautiful and pampering. The views are breathtaking. The food served in the hotel's restaurant is very good and the service is great. We enjoyed a walk in the vineyards, using the audio-guide provided at the hotel and wine tasting activity which was also very interesting. Take into consideration that once you get to the hotel, you wouldn't want to leave, so plan your tour of this beautiful area, before or after arrival to the hotel

Nothing that I can think of

First and last thing that we remember about Ventozelo is the engagement with staff, all were lovely and informative. One in particular was a lovely lady we spoke to at breakfast and lunch, who explained the workings of the estate having been there a while, a wonderful ambassador for the Quinta. The room was comfortable, well facilitated, and had a lovely outside space for a relaxing afternoon and/or evening. The whole location was very well set up for a fulfilling trip, the museum was fantastic and educational, as were the walking trips that were available with guided audio.

Not a big issue, only consideration was that you don't see the vista at night so with full on lights set against a black background, the dining area felt cold - background music and dim lights to showcase the surroundings might create something more special.
