Friendly, casual, wecoming staff. Nicely kept up historic building. Reasonable prices for NYC. The suite is a lot of room—surprisingly spacious

It was great.

The room itself was lovely and big enough for a family of four. There was two lots of cupboard spaces so we could put away suitcases. There was a little room near the door with a fridge and a sink. The bedroom was really nice with a king bed and the windows could open so you could hear the New York sounds. The sofa couch was quite comfortable too. It was close to the subway and Central station. The staff were really lovely and the housekeepers were always around if you needed anything.

There definitely could have been a microwave in the kitchenette area and the room doesn't have smart TVs, so you couldn't stream any services which was a bit disappointing. Also, the only bathroom is in the main room and there was no vent, so any smells just wafted straight into the bedroom.

I liked the service- staff for helpful and even had a pull out couch set up for us, as I mentioned we would be using it in passing. The room was quiet and clean and the location was good for the sites we were planning to see on this trip. They even had some flavored water to drink after coming in from a hot day. I would definitely recommend.

Pullout couch was uncomfortable but honestly ive never been anywhere where that’s not the case. I’m just grateful they had that option. So I definitely did not care, for me, it was a positive to have a separate room from the kids.

- The location of the hotel is a reasonable walk to 5th avenue / time square (20min/30min). Central Park just around the corner. 20/30 mins might seem long but its a nice walk with lots to look at along the way. Subway 2 mins down the road if you don't like walking. Don't get Uber/taxi, walk or get the subway if you want to save. - We got a lovely upgrade as it was a special occasion for me and my partner, much appreciated. Everything was perfect in our room. - Restaurant made lovely meals and our breakfast was perfect the 2 morning we had breakfast in the hotel. Get the Pancakes.

The bed was very comfortable and the location was great.

The suite was a little small for two people (my adult son was with me). The bathroom was small. It would have helped having the toilet separate from the bathroom.

From the minute we arrived we felt like we were at home. Charlotte checked us in and from that moment on for our whole trip she was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for her. Chris is an exceptional General Manager both with how he deals with his staff and with the clientele . I brought my parents who are in their 80s for their 1st trip to NYC and it was the staff and everything in general about this hotel that made their trip extra special. Its the home from home atmosphere that is unique especially considering you are in the heart of NYC. Our suites were immaculate and extremely well laid out. There is absolutely nothing I would change about this hotel. If I could give it 10 stars I would and we are already planning a return visit

The staff were very nice and helpful. The Gym affiliated to the hotel was excellent, We are looking forward to our next visit. The breakfast was lovely. Housekeeping were top class and the reception staff were very very helpful.

I think it could do with some cosmetic upgrades - the room was nice but could do with a refurbishment.

Room and bathroom are spacious (considering New York), you can even open the windows a bit in the room and bathroom. Very clean, and housekeeping kept our room tidy 👌. Reception staff was very friendly, gave us a lot of useful tips. Location is great, our windows were facing a narrow courtyard, which made it surprisingly quiet to sleep.

The hotel does have an outdated vibe with carpeted floors, slow elevator and a stale smell, but the team does a good job preserving the facilities, for example, the leather furniture in the reception and letter chute by the elevator. Housekeeping was knocking at 9 in the morning, which was early for us considering the jet lag.

The hotel amenities were good, and value and price linked (for once in New York!). It is indeed a 4 star hotel with good service, and amenities, and room (suite) was of a good size, beds were really good, and all was very clean. We appreciated the size of the bathroom and the renovation. The good smell of cleanliness was appreciated as well at our level. We appreciated the small kitchenette and fridge/mini-bar.

The only thing that would need some improvement if possible was a little smell in the entrance of the hotel, some humidity, but maybe that was only an incident, or linked to the street, where all sorts of smells can be found in New York! Apart from this, this hotel met all our expectations and we would have loved to stay longer, however we needed to leave back home...
