During our recent stay in El Cuyo, we had the absolute pleasure of spending two nights at the charming Casa Mia, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. This little gem truly lives up to its name, making us feel right at home while offering all the luxuries of a boutique island getaway. From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made us feel like family. Their attentiveness and genuine smiles set the tone for our stay. They went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of, whether it was arranging activities, offering recommendations, or just sharing a friendly chat. The rooms are a testament to thoughtful design and comfort. Spacious, airy, and immaculately clean, each room has a rustic yet elegant charm that complements the island's laid-back vibe. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we loved the little touches like locally crafted decor and eco-friendly amenities. The food at Casa Mia was another highlight. Breakfasts were a delightful spread of fresh fruit, homemade pastries, and local specialties, all bursting with flavor. We also enjoyed lunch, which featured fresh salad and yummy avocado an authentic dish that left us savoring every bite. Sharing lunch bare feet on the terrace was the perfect way to feel like home. Casa Mia’s location is ideal – just steps away from the pristine beaches of El Cuyo. The tranquil atmosphere, stunning sunrise and the sparkling starry sky with displaying the Milky Way, made it a dream come true for relaxation and unwinding. We left Casa Mia with full hearts and unforgettable memories. It’s a place we’d wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting El Cuyo, whether you're seeking a romantic retreat, a family getaway, or just a peaceful escape. We can’t wait to return! Since it is a nature reserve, there were a lot of mosquitoes. But this shouldn´t stop you to visit!

Where to start, everything about Casa Mia was beyond our expectations. We had a garden room, king bed, nice shower, and small back patio. Awesome breakfast each morning and a very short walk to the beach. Then there is the kiteboarding lessons with Nick and Marco. They are great instructors!!! The entire staff at Casa Mia is exceptional. They even helped us with our Spanish lessons each day. One of the best vacations we've ever had.

An extra cup of coffee costs extra and we didn't know. Not a deal breaker, but had we known we would've stuck with just one cup.

The hotel is very charming and located in a lush garden pretty much on the beach. The property was well maintained and the rooms very spacious. The breakfast was super fresh and delicious. Even though included, almost all items but oats and fruits were a (small) extra charge.

The hotel was very nice, just more pricy compared to other hotel prices without any extra service or amenities. No criticism of the hotel, just the pricing policy. Would be nice if all breakfast options were included.

Perfect in every way—the best place to stay if you love nature, pristine sand, quiet and clean and away from the crowds! Joaquín was amazing: he helped us organise a cheap taxi from Cancun airport, which is very important. Great surfing and paddle boarding classes, excellent location, beautiful property in the pristine area of El Cuyo. Delicious breakfast, comfortable beds, we were in the cheapest room and it still felt luxurious and pure tropical paradise! So grateful xxx PS For dinner, ask the staff for recommendations! Special thanks to Nick for the paddle boarding tour: we even saw a dolphin!!! Perfect and idyllic in every way.

Booked the “penthouse” apartment for three days - WOW! The best place we have stayed in a month around the Yucutan. Huge kitchen diner, large bedroom and wrap around balcony. The views of the sea in one direction and the forest and lagoon in the other were superb. Views of the stars at night and many species of birds at dawn. Great breakfasts, fun staff and El Cuyo is a gem of a place (good restaurants, looong beach)

A small headboard and bedside lights maybe? Otherwise nothing!

It was my first time in El.Cuyo and I chose the best place for what I needed. The hotel is located in a very quiet area, seconds from a gorgeous beach with free beach chairs to use. You can leave your slippers & things in the room, go for a swim and come back. The hotel is nice and quiet especially during the week. It becomes more animated during weekends. I stayed from Monday till Friday so I had the place mostly for myself - quite a treat. Joaquin was very nice and kind, very communicative and helpful with my transfer from Cancun and back, local recommendations, quality discussions and everything that I needed from seconds after booking, throughout my stay there and long after the checkout (because I was a little sick), till I got to my home country in Europe. Breakfast was delicious, the bed fantastic, the shower quite roomy, no electric problems, good wifi. I don't like the AC so for me the ceiling fan was a plus, although I only used it only once. The sound of the ocean at night was amazing! I hope to be back!

A Dreamy Getaway at Casa Mia El Cuyo My stay at Casa Mia El Cuyo was nothing short of exceptional. They were attentive, friendly, and always eager to assist with any needs or recommendations. The on-site breakfast was delicious, with a wide selection of dishes to choose from, including some delightful local options. The hotel's prime location allowed us to easily explore El Cuyo and its stunning beaches. We appreciated the tranquility of the area, which is far removed from the hustle and bustle of more touristy destinations. After a day of exploring, it was a pleasure to return to Casa Mia to relax and unwind. I cannot recommend Casa Mia El Cuyo enough for those looking for a peaceful, authentic experience in the Yucatan. The combination of warm hospitality, idyllic surroundings, and comfortable accommodations made our stay unforgettable. We can't wait to return! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lovely hotel with lovely staff!:) Amazing location next to the sea, quiet, clean beach. Staff brough chairs to the beach and also were very attentive during breakfast(which was very good!). Owner gave recommendations as to where to have dinner upon arrival, also gave a lot of other suggestions in regards to traveling locations in Mexico. Super friendly team! Bonus: two cuddly and sweet cats roaming around the hotel territory. :)

Casa Mia is a great place to stay with the beach and the kitespot just a 100 meter stroll away. Wonderful clean beach and a great kitespot with more than enough place to launch. We stayed in the somewhat smaller Ocean room and later in the suite. Both are very clean and equipped with a good shower and beautiful views. The suite is equipped with a refrigerator and a nice space to sit comfortably. Both rooms, like the rest of the building, are wonderfully airy and have good mosquito nets. The staff are cheerful and you can tell that they are having a good time. The tireless owner Marco, with his smile, friendliness, tips and tricks, ensures that you feel welcome and never want to go home. We have used the communal kitchen which is clean and equipped with sufficient materials to cook dinner. Casa Mia also caters for downwinders with a delicious lunch on the beach. All in all, we can wholeheartedly recommend Casa Mia to everyone, but certainly also to the kite surfers among us.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

The location is perfect. A quick walk to the beach. You cancer the ocean from the rooms. Rooms are simple, beautifully designed and comfortable. I loved the cats and dog that live on the property. Breakfast is a huge assortment of fresh fruit and a pancake or oatmeal. Management is so friendly and helpful. Book a massage with Renata, she's great. The internet connection is not very strong and I was happy to disconnect.
