Lovely rooms, large for London.

Bathrobes are tiny. Strange smell in the bar, they take 100npounds off your card for pre authorisation which wasn't mentioned. Breakfast start time randomly was put an hour and a half later on the day of the marathon, which meant we couldn't have breakfast as my husband was running the marathon. Drinks expensive. Paid 30 quid for a coffee, a tea, and 2 pints.

The hotel is really cute with interesting decoration and atmosphere. I appreciated how they handled our reservation that was a complicated one, divided in three separate parts. Especially, the fact that they took into account my preference for a specific room and they reserved it for our whole stay, although they explained when I made the booking that this might not be feasible. The room was spotlessly clean. There was an issue with the drain in the shower at some point, but the staff handled it effectively and without being intrusive in the room, exactly as I had requested. The breakfast room was beautiful and the breakfast itself acceptable, but without being something special. The location of the hotel is a little off center of London. We needed about half an hour, taking the Tube to reach most London attractions, which for the size of London might not be that much. The Bank station, though, which is at the limits of central London and an underground hub for many lines, is only two stops away from the Limehouse station, which serves the hotel (5 min walk). The hotel is located on an avenue and a neighbourhood with not much to do around. However, it is very close to the picturesque Limehouse basin, and we enjoyed a lot the stroll from the hotel, through St Catherine's area, and following the Thames path along the river. The walk took about an hour and revealed many interesting places in that residential area. In summary, we loved the hotel and the staff. If I was to consider something before booking next time to the Limehouse Library hotel, that would be only the location. However, that would probably not stop me from booking again and definitely from highly recommending it.

Our room was facing east, and in the morning the curtains failed blocking the light. The curtains need to be thicker and also longer to not leave any gaps.

The staff were really friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. The outside is beautiful, and the hallways attractively decorated. The room was nicer than you'd get at a chain hotel, with the added character of being themed which was done tastefully and not over the top. It was very warm so I was grateful for the thermostat to adjust this, and the air-con came in handy despite it being January.

It felt a bit overwhelming like an overcrowded antique shop in the entrance/lobby (I was however pleasantly surprised when the hotel was much more tastefully decorated beyond the lobby). The room was joined on to the room next-door, separated only by a door which had a key left in it that I suspect should have been taken out. The noise from the room next-door was really disruptive but fortunately didn't last long. The shower head was partly blocked, spreading water in all directions and the shower flooded the whole bathroom (it was a wet room but it still spread further than expected), fortunately I finished my shower just as it was starting to go under the bathroom door which would damage the flooring outside the bathroom.

This was my second stay at this hotel and the things that I really love are the lovely individualistic decor and the interesting history. This time we also tried the Hamman, which was lovely and very welcome on a cold winter day, and the breakfast which was fantastic. Overall, we had a great stay.

Our room was a bit dark and seemed expensive for what it was (we stayed in a suite for 4). Previously I stayed in a family room for 3, which was a lot better value and felt bright and warm. It would have also been good to know in advance that the restaurant wasn’t open, although the staff were super helpful with getting us a takeaway, which they plated up too. But these are not major complaints- I would still happily go back!

Location great for visiting family in the area. Very clean and the room was made up every day. Comfortable bed. Beautiful plants and roof top tables and seating were a good extra option for relaxing. Lovely artwork throughout the communal places. Staff were attentive and breakfast was plentiful, both cooked and continental styles.

The numerous dolls and clowns ornaments. We didn't really like our room decor as it was decorated in primary colours; it was like a child's nursery room with a basic table and chairs. No upholstered chair to sit on but we were out all day every day after breakfast; so it was sufficient for our needs. The bathroom was quite small but sufficient.

A very quirky property with lots of interesting things to look at in an interesting building.

Very overpowering fragrance in public areas. I have asthma and strong fragrance can affect me. It put me off using bar areas, restaurant, the spa and made me change my mind about having afternoon tea. It was fine in the room so we just went out all day and returned late to avoid the scent and chemicals contained in it. I didn’t say anything to the staff as even if the scent is turned off/ blown out etc, I tends to linger anyway and it was a short stay. I’m sure it’s not just me that gets affected as scent (volatile organic compounds) is listed in the allergy uk and asthma and lung websites as a trigger for people with lung conditions

Decor and design were fab. Bed was comfy. Location was great for what we needed. Breakfast was different to other hotels I've stayed in but I liked having the varied offer. Service in the restaurant was good.

At check in we were informed room wasn't ready but would be in about 30 mins, tbf we were early so understandable. We went and ate lunch and took about 45 mins (in the hotel) and went back and it still wasn't ready so were advised to take a walk for a bit. Just a bit disappointing, should have more realistic timescales and be clear with customers so we can make decisions.

Beautiful hotel set in an old library. Astonishingly good breakfast. London food is still not awesome and this breakfast was an exception. I felt happy every morning. The first room I got was smallish but they changed it to another one with a full bed instead of twin and I was quite happy and comfortable for a reasonable London price.

Could be more generous with replacing toiletries… I did feel a bit far from the main part of London and places I had to be but I guess that is on me. It was a 5 minute walk to DLR and several good bus routes stopped very close by.

Location! Despite other reviews we found this location to be very quiet! We booked two rooms- our kids (18,16) were on the fourth floor and us on the 3rd- each floor is accessible only by the room key. The rooms were clean and comfortable and decorated individually to represent scholars and historical figures. The decor in the lobby is funky (maybe a few too many tchotchkes- if you are afraid of clowns- this may not be for you). The staff is wonderful and friendly. They burn incense so this could be an issue for those sensitive. We loved the hotel and found it very quiet- we even had the window cracked at night (June stay). The kids LOVED it as they had two twin beds and the room was very cool. We did not eat there but the food looked very good. Very modern and beautiful upgrade of an historic building. Quick walk to the DLR stop made it convenient. Close to 2 magpies (great breakfast) and Grapes (great pub). We felt like it was a safe and quiet area- would definitely return.

An absolute gem of a hotel! Completely unexpected that it would be such an interesting place, with beautifully decorated themed rooms. Perfectly clean, comfortable beds, and outstanding staff. We had a problem with our a/c so the team apologised, asked if it was ok that they check it while we were at dinner, and when we came back they agreed that the a/c wasn’t as effective as they would expect, and upgraded our room with apologies. Honestly - everything from the minute we checked in was absolutely faultless. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Nothing. Nothing at all.
